GREAT JOB BRENT! DENISE
Thanks for the kudos, Rob. "A Tale of Two Cities: The Circuit City Story" is still available on Amazon. It was a pleasure working with Alan Wurtzel, Austin Ligon, and all of the other brilliant contributors to that project.
I just was scrolling through my RUclips and this video popped up, I said who the hell is this Tom guy and why am I subscribed to him, it took me a couple minutes to figure it out but it's because of that Circuit City video you did, one of the best documentaries I've ever seen!
Hello! I analyzed your channel and realized that: I watched your RUclips channel and few videos. Your channel has many videos but not enough views and subscribers. Your channel should be optimized, your videos content is very good & informative but your video optimization is not perfect Example: According to VidiQ analysis: This video SEO score is 0 out of 100 - which should be 80+, no SEO friendly tags/rank tags added, no channel related tags use Social media sharing is done and there are some other issues. Because of this, your video is not reaching the interested people. If you solve this problem and SEO optimize your RUclips videos immediately, your channel will get more views, subscribers and monetization very quickly. As a RUclips SEO expert, I am passionate about SEO optimizing every video on your channel. Let me know if you are interested ➡ channel ✉. Thank you
Worked at Circuit City for twenty years got laid off from the Riverside ca store in 2007. Fortunate enough to get a monthly pension from Circuit City.
Beautifully done documentary.
Hello from rural Kansas🇺🇸
Nicely done! Thanks for creating and sharing this.
So, if wasn't the Employees fault (and you can't blame the Customers), who WAS responsible? Could it be a Management that betrayed its Company's own culture of Respect and Values??
Aimee is an amazing person and this is so uplifting!! Thank you for sharing!❤
I know all these comments are old but I’m just know finding out about this documentary. Is there a way to watch it online somewhere? I worked for CC from 1998-2000 at the Nashua, NH store. I started in the warehouse. I left in 2000 for a year and came back in 2001 and worked audio/video sales and would fill in doing car audio sales in the Road Shop. Sales was commission and the store I worked at had some very good sales people. Some of them made a lot of money, even more than the store manager in some cases. I did ok and it was good money working there while also being a full time college student at the time. In early 2002, I was part of the first round of sales layoffs as they were getting rid of commissioned employees first. If I remember correctly if you were making over a certain average hourly rate they laid you off. My average hourly rate was just over that amount and I was gone. Those who were under that threshold got to keep their jobs for time being at a set hourly rate. Can’t remember it might have been like $10 or $12 an hour at the time. Best Buy had moved in right next door and CC started to follow their model. CC’s days were numbered once BB moved in. They were the cool new guys on the block. Made sense since CC hired some of Best Buy’s executives. For me it was good timing as I was finishing up college and I had another job in my field of study already lined up. I know a couple of the guys I worked with ended up getting jobs at some high end electronics stores. The store manager and I crossed paths again years later. He briefly worked at the same company I was working at around 2015. Different departments but we remembered each other from our CC days. Overall is was actually a fun job and all my coworkers, sales managers, store managers were awesome to work with. The store discounts were great being able to buy things at cost. The store I worked at is now a discount store called Savers. The building still had that CC Plug facade and it’s the only reminder that it was once a Circuit City. Best Buy is still there right next door.
This is an awesome program.
what a phenomenal program, thank you to all the speakers!

We love Dean Ira!
This is my english teacher
I was sixteen (33 years ago!), I've home-stayed at Jerry and Diane Lawson's house in Orange County, CA for 2 weeks in August as an exchange student from Japan. That was my first time to be in a foreign country, and my English wasn't so good. Jerry and Diane welcomed me and were SO nice to me. I will never ever forget them. Jerry made me laugh, relax and was always my side. I remember they took me to Circuit City several times.
That’s my grandpa! Jack Stevenson 😊
Aimee is a family friend with a beautiful/powerful voice. My mom "Big Mama" loved Aimee and so does the entire Jerry Family. Thanks for sharing this video.
So grateful to you Tom Wulf for capturing this beautiful song sung by my dear friends John Marsh and Jim St. Pierre. My Irish dear sweet father is so dear to me and forever in my heart. I will hear this song whenever I think of him. THANK YOU.
The Democratic Party candidate for Virginia's 1st Congressional District will be chosen in the Primary Election to be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2018.
We're in this! 😀
praise god that is awesome
I was at 922 in Ft. Myers, FL 2000-2004, then I went to Home Depot 8444 for 8 years.
So Beautiful...makes me miss Ashland quite a bit!
I'm for the rail. It's what is needed around here. It would help with young professionals like myself and with the every weekend grid lock on 95 going north. I vote YES to the western bypass.
Wonderful tribute to a wonderful family!
on ashcake rd there is 3-4 in a row all owned by school bus drivers and you gotta make 70,000 a year to be eligible.... i don't believe a bus driver makes that and the bmws in the drive way must be nice ... wish i was the dude on the porch drinking all day alot of us know that row of homes is apart of a scam
Circuit City was the best. Best Buy sucks. Thank god for Cruchfield
Dear Main Street Association and The Town of Ashland, This is well and good, and the young lady who did the solo was great. However, there were some 150 other people of all ages (called the chorus) who practiced and sang well, and whom the 500+ audience also liked, who brought the festive air to the "party" ... and no footage was aired of our performance? If not for us, there would have been a very short program, and likely not much of a COMMUNITY atmosphere. Hope you are able to get 150 townspeople to do it again next year. All-in-all, NOT a good way to manage people, nor to perpetuate a spirit of "community-ness" in this season, or any other. Why not be a little more aware next time.
+Bob K I just shot the video on Saturday night and haven't had time to edit it yet. Will try to post something later this week. Everyone did a great job... the entire community choir was amazing!
Looking good Cinder!
What an amazing video! Nicely done!
i gave circuit city 12 yrs of my blood sweat and tears at DC Ardmore,OK. working long hours sometimes 70 hours a week during peak season i gave them everything my time away from my family and basically my 30's ...GONE and on the day it happened me and 1 other associate were working the in recieving when my boss told us what happened i think i went into shock a lil ,it didnt seem real at all ! Then the liquidators came in with there threats to the associates either help us get rid of this merchandise to the stores ,shut your nouths about whats going on or be fired and we will fight against your unemployment , no severence, no thank you nothing ... so to the former ceo if CC you have no idea the toll it took on me and my family in the years that followed trying to recover in a recession i hold you and the board totally to blame for the companys downfall i hope you think about it every day for the rest of your life .
This group is trying to convince us that for some reason, Arlington residents (and other US taxpayers) who can't afford to live in prime locations should subsidize others to do so. Diversity can be achieved in other ways. Bringing in lower income residents will only increase crime and lower school performance, both of which negatively affect the local economy.
Where is the documentary
Thanks for making Circuit City great
