Given that the station rotates at a noticeable rate for gravity it always bugged me that the windows looking out into space show a stationary starfield. (And if you are in a room with an exterior window and you are standing in "gravity" then the outer wall with the window should be the floor beneath your feet.)

It isn't always dark outside in space. In space there isn't an atmosphere to create the reflection/refraction of light to make the blue sky. But there is light because stars ... shine! They are in a star system, in orbit around a planet, which has day and night. A lot of the outer sections seem to have WINDOWS, INCLUDING C&C. Depending on their orbit and revolution rate, there is going to be some pattern of "sunlight" entering those windows. All of those that work in space ought to know that.
