    If you don't like the satin of the stone gray spray you could probably spray some matte varnish over it. I want to make one of these, so some good tips in here. I've used those small plastic skulls before. I used them for embedding in foam gravestones, and for making the tops spooky fence posts. They're pretty easy to cut and work with.

    A dummy question but what would the difference in effect be without chillbox compared to your setup?

    • @AllHomeDIYDad
      @AllHomeDIYDad Месяц назад

      Hi! Great question. So it all depends on the weather. Its usually cold around halloween where I live in MN. So the chillbox doesnt have as big of an effect because it hard to get the fog cooler than the air temp when it comes out of a heated up machine. But its suppose to lay lower to the ground and not dissipate so quickly when it is chilled. Better effect. More spooky. More fun. The warmer it is outside the better the chiller will work. With no chiller it will still look cool but the fog will rise up and disappear faster as it will be warmer than the air. Hope that helps

    • @chra186
      @chra186 Месяц назад

      Thanks for your quick answer. I will definitely try and build a version of this! I guess you dont put the smoke/fog machine inside the coffin because of heat/fire safety? My problem is that here we usually have like 45 F and rain... Maybe put the smoke machine under a roof and use a long pipe to the coffin?

    • @AllHomeDIYDad
      @AllHomeDIYDad Месяц назад

      @@chra186 yes I have same issue. I put it behind the coffin and put a little cover over it in case of rain. You could run a pipe but its not as effective with the fan pushing the fog and air through that pipe to the coffin. Wont come out as strong

      @AllHomeDIYDad Месяц назад

      Must be a different arb. These get 5ft wide so why would you want 8-10 ft for a privacy hedge. 2.75’ apart and will be nice solid hedge. If I had no watering system and not a lot of sun I would do it different.

    This is the most informative video of the process I've seen so far! I've tried to overthink this so many times for a setting for my daughter and been up in the loft but the problem I have is the loft has boards down so you can't see the pilot hole tool looking through and I'm kinda scared about placing weight on our joists (1925 UK semi). Don't know why when we have a chin up bar in a door way under the same ceiling that my partner uses just fine! Anyway, my daughter butted her head on her ceiling the other week on top of her high sleeper bed and now there's a small hole there so I'm inclined to start investigating with more pilot holes again as we have to fill that hole anyway. If I ever manage to install one of these I'll come back and let you know!

    • @AllHomeDIYDad
      @AllHomeDIYDad 2 месяца назад

      Go for it! Whats the worth that happens? You put in a hole that needs to be patched? And im sure your joists can handle the kids weight if done properly. Also if you have the ability, you can place a 2x board in the attic across a few rafters and use lags to fasten to the rafters to spread the weight out over a few vs just the one!! Thanks for the positive feedback!

      Great question. It will still come out but it will be much harder to come oitnif it was over tightened with a drill.
