Great tour! Brentwood Bay is an amazing place. Lived by the post office about 30 years ago and walk the area a few times a week.

Great walk. Think we're off to Kinsol Trestle today for the first time.

The Seahorse Cafe'....in 1995 it was The Rusty Duck, where you could rent one of the little cabins behind it, which my husband and I did for one night on our honeymoon. It was owned by a French-Canadian man who fled Quebec to get away from the politicians, as he told us.😅. The best French toast we've ever had. ❤. A fond memory for me, now that my husband has 'gone ahead' of me.

Pretty wet there! We had planned a walk on a birdwatching trail way back before we got busy with the house. Maybe we’ll get to that this year. 😁 ☕️🇨🇦

I should do that trail again soon, haven't done it for a while. I'll be interested to see what happens to that land. I know it is supposed to be turned back to a wetlands, but much of it has been subdivided for years, there are several undeveloped roads across it, and I did see a sign at one time mentioning nineteen properties!

Makes me a bit sad to see how much dodge and the rest of the valley have changed and grown. It is what it is. Now that I’m posted far away from home I always love videos like this to make me feel like I’m back home for a moment.

One of our favourite places. Have you been to Blinkhorn Nature Park? It's off Kangaroo road in Metchosin. Be sure to look at the green sign on the right as you walk in for a bit of history.
