    To be honest the 2022 re-boot had some mixed reviews from some critics and some fans too. I liked both, but for me Hellraiser is Hellraiser and Hellraiser 2: Hellbound, which is the best mess I have seen in my life

      EEAAO was quite a divisive film for me and my friends. I actually really enjoyed the film, especially since living in Tokyo where daily life will have you feeling nihilistic in no time. I've watched the opening night from the Philippines and I enjoyed it especially coz the rumours about Gwenpool being in it was false. Regarding the flat background, I believe that it's on purpose. I am more of a Gwenpool fan than Deadpool and in her comics it was explained that since the main character is aware of the 4th wall that's how the story is given as a view point of the audience. We, the audience are behind the 4th wall and thus the camera angles cannot give us an indept point of view as someone standing within the screen like how the other marvel movies did for example the epic 360° world view given when the Avengers first united. All in all, me and my cousins who lied about being above 16yrs old enjoyed the movie. (Spoilers if you didn't stay till the very end credit) Johnny did say all the things Deadpool said and it was on CCTV making Deadpool innocent of the crime of getting him killed. 😂

    • @thewritetable
      @thewritetable 3 месяца назад

      I am incredibly happy to hear from someone from the Philippines! Thank you for your comment. You’ve made a great point in incorporating the cinematography with Deadpool’s ability to break the fourth wall and the audience’s relationship with it. I took it more as a limit of the “Stagecraft” LED wall technology that was used in THE MANDALORIAN which I think could have also been used for DEADPOOL AND WOLVERINE. But I like your interpretation much more. Thank you! It was a refreshing approach they took for the end credits scene, wasn’t it? Thanks again, and here’s to GWENPOOL getting her own movie someday!

    great essay and analysis. have watched the film myself but capitalism critique wasn't appeared to me as a key aspect of film. To me it was rather about how truth and events could be subjectively reinterpret and perceived differently. Also the actors work was amazing, especially Sandra Huller. Still I find your points bout capitalism underlying the world we live in and shaping our personas very valid and insightful.

    • @thewritetable
      @thewritetable 7 месяцев назад

      Thank you very much for your kind comment. My thoughts on capitalism and it shapes our personas is not so much to denounce capitalism, but to offer an opinion on its negative side effects, so we can catch ourselves from falling too deeply into its consequences. “Anatomy of A Fall”is definitely a great film, isn’t it? Everything from the script, the acting, and the directing would make as great references for every aspiring writer, actor, or director. You’re right about how the film shows how its human nature to manipulation the truth to suit individual needs, and with Justine Triet’s use of various forms of technology to present information for the audience like puzzle pieces for us to track down what is the truth and what is not showcase Ms. Triet’s talent. I especially liked her choice to use Daniel’s voice over his father’s face during their time in the car during Daniel’s testimony in court. “Anatomy of A Fall” is a phenomenal achievement and I hope its audience grows more and more. Thank you very much again for your comment and your time.

The black and white version hides all of the weakness of the CGI, which were very few, but at the same time enhances all of its strengths to make an exceptional visual experience of the film . I think a one week run in the US will be too short for fans, and the run will need to be extended. Like one of the critics commented on GODZILLA MINUS ONE, “It is the blockbuster we needed.”

After doing another check on the internet on its Wikipedia page, this is what I found: “Brahmāstra: Part One - Shiva has grossed ₹320 crore (US$40 million) in India and ₹111 crore (US$14 million) overseas, for a worldwide gross of est.₹431 crore (US$54 million). In the United States and Canada, the film made US$4.5 million from 810 theatres in its opening weekend. With earnings of ₹189 crore in Hindi and ₹213 crore overall worldwide in its first weekend, the film emerged as the highest-grossing Hindi film overseas since the COVID-19 pandemic. It also had the highest domestic weekend for an original Hindi film, and the second-highest for a film with screenings in Hindi after K.G.F: Chapter 2. Box Office India in their year-end report gave Brahmāstra: Part One - Shiva a ‘‘hit’’ verdict.” Thanks again, my friend!

      @@thewritetable I'm actually up in the mountains in Canada (Okanagan Canada)...much smaller release here, and while Japan looks like an absolutely wonderful place to visit, It's a LONG way to go for a movie. :) As you've seen, the North American production companies are just producing social commentary pieces (not entertainment product), so this is the perfect time for consumers to be introduced to Japanese content. My son, who is not political, LOVES really obscure anime shows, not because of the agenda, he just says "it's just really good stories". Your english is pretty much perfect, I'm assuming you lived outside of Japan for some time? Not a lot of Japanese have "quintessential" in their repertoire :)

      @High_Caliber Living in the mountains in Canada? Now I’m the one that’s jealous! Japan is a wonderful place, although trying to get through the day in the monster of a city that is Tokyo can be difficult, it helps making time in the quieter and more nature oriented areas of Japan so much more sweeter. I’m glad to hear that your son understands well the differences between good stories and the stories being written today that are bent towards political social engineering in recent popular entertainment. I actually grew up in Canada. Thanks for your time and I hope you can visit Japan someday.

      @@thewritetable It breaks all the rules of the DEI madates. Having a strong straight MALE character is simply not allowed. It's rare that I put any "new" movies into my home archive, but this one made it. When you really look at it, you can tell it didn't cost a fortune to make, but it's still better than 99% of stuff being churned out. I didn't even watch the indiana jones movie, and never will, even though I was a HUGE fan back in the day. They simply aren't making movies for fans anymore, so I don't plan to give them any money unless they go above and beyond to amuse.

      @@tombstoneranch69 The new Godzilla film is doing really well in Japan. They did an amazing job at recreating postwar Japan on a $15 million budget. Godzilla looks fantastic with a mix of primarily the TOHO produced Godzillas throughout the years. It’s all monster and mayhem through the eyes of average people forced to protect themselves due to lack of ability in the government to look after the people. I absolutely LOVED Shin Godzilla, I know it was really really different, but I just loved everything about it. The American made movies were just SO BAD, so glad to see this REAL Kaiju movie when it finally gets here. I don't think I've ever seen a Toho movie in the theaters so I'm REALLY looking forward to this one. Hopefully they don't skip a theatrical release, I mean if they can put crap like hunger games on the screen, they can give us a real monster flick.

      I believe you’ll love GODZILLA MINUS ONE when it reaches screens where you are. It’s interesting that when America does superhero films they do it well, at least they used to, whereas when they do Kaiju films they fall short. On the other hand, when Japan does superhero films they’re quite missing that quality that makes superhero films great for a large audience and individuals. But when it comes to Kaiju films, Japan is the undisputed king. Thank you for your time, andI wish you a great experience with GODZILLA MINUS ONE.
