Restoration of Russian Imperial Guard Pocket Watch | Pre 1917 | Heinrich Khan | 4K Restoration Video
I have managed to find a pocket watch that was given to the members of Russian Imperial Guard of Tsar Nikolas the 2nd. Their supplier was watchmaker Heinrich Khan / Генрихъ КАНЪ С.П.Б. This watch predates the October Revolution in 1917 and founding of Soviet Union. It's needless to say that this is a truly rare watch of a great historical value.
Watch was not in the working condition. I had to fix the dial, replace the seconds wheel, add the missing dials, replace the crystal, straighten the pivot, and polish the watch.
If you like my restorations, feel free to like and leave a comment below the video.

Can I fix this ruined dial? | Omega pocket watch restoration
I bought this Omega pocket watch for a good price. It worked, but it would stop after several minutes. It turns out it just needed a good cleaning, so I was lucky with this purchase. My main concern now was about the damaged porcelain dial. Somebody tried to restore it before me but it didn't turn out well. I had to clean the previous attempt and do it in my way. After fixing the holes in the d...
Restoring future from the past | Kienzle Life 2002 from the 1970s watch restoration
This time I am doing a restoration of a retrofuturistic watch, Kienzle Life 2002, which I bought online. Sellers usually show you the mechanism, but this one didn't. He claimed he couldn't open the watch. I had a bad feeling about this one, but anyway, I went with a purchase since I like mechanical digital watches and it wasn't a big investment. As it turned out, my bad feeling was right. As yo...

In this video I am doing a restoration of a 150 years old J. Calame-Robert pocket watch. It's a silver pocket watch that has HF imprinted on it's case which refers to Huguenin Freres workshop that was famous for it's engravings, embossments and later, use of nielo technique. I fell in love with it because of it's beautifully engraved mechanism and case. When I bought it, it didn't work. Balance...

Trench Watch Restoration | Omega WWI Watch | 4K Restoration Video
In this video I am doing a trench watch restoration of an old Omega watch. Although it's a man's watch, I bought it with intention to restore it and give it to my daughter as a birthday gift as she always wanted a "trench watch". I bought this old watch online and I paid it around $100. It had missing hands, cracked glass, slightly damaged dial, some minor corrosion inside mechanism and it was ...

Pocket Watch Restoration: Longines cal. 21-54 - How I turned a $10 junk into an $800 pocket watch
This time I am doing a pocket watch restoration of an antique Longines pocket watch, cal. 21-54, stainless steel model. The mechanism of this model dates back to the year 1880-1890. Since it has a Kingdom of Serbia coat of arms on its back, I am assuming this pocket watch belongs to the pre-1914 era. There were several issues with this pocket watch restoration: - It was extremely dirty - Glass ...
I visited Madrid's Rastro market fifty years ago, that's where you could find Roskopf watches. Although never in perfect condition, they were everywhere and I managed to find an early 1867 model which I still have.
VERY NICELY DONE
Good job, but what so ugly movement...
where can I find that powder?
After 7 comes 8 or am I missing something ?
CHAMPION DU MONDE ! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Brilliant don't listen to the watch snobs
I love your videos, just nice and honest watch restoration without a single £15,000 watch cleaning machine in sight, keep em coming
Are you still making videos? I loved watching your work and you were one of the ones who inspired me on my journey. Hope all is well.
Gracias!
I would love to see how WRISTWATCH REVIVAL would deal with this restoration ,
Where can i buy this powder?
O mio Dio! Il martello 😱.... Proprio nooo
Oiling the pallet fork? Really? Nope.
The watch looks nice, the repair however is a fail. No finger cots (finger prints and sweat on the internal parts), hammering on the main plate (if you have to use a hammer for that, you are doing something wrong), superglue on a cap stone (there are more traditional methods, also could get a new jewel, never mind the fumes from the cyanoacrylate glue), too much oil in (if you can see the oil, it's too much), putting glue on the bezel while installed on the case. Such a disservice to a beautiful watch! 😥
This is just vandalism. What kind of moron uses a rotary sander on a silver watch case?!
The work, so far looks good, but why you doesn’t use finger protection?
Not good that you didn't use finger cots 😢😢
Good. But what about when you have dial lines of 0.1 mm over a turned edge!
I don’t think you used enough oil. It seems like you only used about a half bottle worth. Haha. I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone use this much and then upload a video of it. I have some finger cots and gloves also if you need to borrow some.
I've subscribed with the hope you'll make more videos like this. Grace and peace!
Hello there, i just watched your Zenith 1918 video from 2 years ago. I just bought a similar pocket watch with the same markings...Grand prix 1900, the movement is fairly clean but needs a service, thats for sure. The dial is fairly good. However, its got no hands,no stem and crown. Any idea as to where to start looking for these parts, apart from donor movements and ebay?? Im retired now too hence im doing repairing again....just for me only now. Thank you. I live in Australia. Merry Christmas (26/12/23)
You need music or audio of some kind, either commentary or whatever describing what you're doing. no sound at all except for an occasional click is really boring. also, you should tell what these watches are worth when they're restored or in good original condition and what you paid for this fixable watch .
WOW ABSOLUTELY STUNNING VIDEO!! WITH THE PERFECT MUSIC TOO GO WITH. IT WAS LIKE WATCHING THE WAR IN REVERSE. IT BROKE MY HEART IN REVERSE
WD40 is..not.. a penetrant fluid or oil.
Thank you for this amazing video.
Quite a job smearing epoxy all over the crystal instead of UV-cured cement. I couldn't help noticing that the minute and seconds hands are wrong for this model; neither are Seth Thomas factory stock.
Quick Question: what would you do, if the balance staff would have been broken? bc. you can just source a new one for these old movements.
Why are you not showing the disassembly you just jumping through it
Beautiful restoration and the minute hand re-make is outstanding!!
you GLUED the jewel back in??!!???? 🤯 I'm no "expert" , but ... Aren't jewels supposed to have some side to side movement, to compensate for the pivot holes NEVER being perfectly alligned, and for a LITTLE shock protection? (I am not a watch maker. However, as a former machinist, I can tell you the pivot holes being un-alligned by a few 10,000 inch or more (not to mention slightly differrent diameters - even if drilled with the same bit, due to tool wear. That is why designers and engineers set allowable variations ... +/- 0.0015 inches, for example, and design in waysto compensate for slight variations in precision instruments, like a watch. If the jewel was loose enogh to fall out, it was either the wrong size OR the retainer was/is missing. Wd-40 then beat the main plate out of the case? I hope you didn't bend or"U" the plate TOO bad. Rather surprising you found a new mainspring for a 1860's watch, Swiss or not. In the 1860's and before, Switzerland was not known for watch movements like they are today. Rolex, for example started out as a British brand, then moved to Switzerland in the late1800's. England is where the best watches were made at that time. Though Germany also had some excellent watches, too. At any rate, when you broke out the glue, you lost me.
The result is beautiful - but I wish you had explained the alcohol burner and the chipping part. I have no idea what you did in that section of the video.
Sir, you should never touch any part of a movement with your bare hands once they have been cleaned. Doing so leaves microscopic amounts of oils from your hands which contain salt that can cause rust. Fingercots will protect the movement and are cheap enough insurance.
I do not like plastic only glass for Me . If a full hunter I will go plastic, glass for them are thin and tough to replace.
Beautiful watch and nice work! Would love to find one like it for myself!
I had purchased to tool lot and did not know what one of the tools was used for. Its the same you used to anneal the bent pivot. Thank you for demonstrating its use.
that is not how the crystal goes in
I have same 1910 Eterna in way better shape than this restored. Probably mine worthts us$ 8000 then :)
You're a bloody artist ...no more than that and I don't know what to call you!❤
All it took was swapping out a broken Seiko 7s26 for a 4r36 (runs at plus 3 per day) and down the rabbit hole I've gone....
Outstanding work, particularly the new minute hand.
Omg. You are so good and did an excellent job!!!
Love your videos - wish you'd start again and do some more.
Wonderful skill~
Wow~ 👍👍👍
