This Tree is artificial generated and fully modular at size shape and amount of trunk, branches and twigs. As well Diameter but also shape and direction can be modified.     Trued a small snail shell which had an extra hole in it. But had problems getting the tracking to pickup at the correct angle

      I had best results in single shot mode whilst relocating the item manually on a black surface, also enabled surface removal and starting at a region rich in features like the entry hole

    Hey, nice work Do you know how larger area you could use this method for outside? If I say 4 markers on site, with one in each corner, could I measure some land externally and it be accurate without a drone?

      That‘s a difficult one. Outside areas don’t feature a lot of hard surfaces and angles to get a proper frame alignment and ground surface you most likely can’t scan perpendicular. If it’s a hard surface like concrete or asphalt it could work. Make a mail to info@bau-3d.ch so we can discuss this more specific.

    Manual alignment in blender is completely unnecessary, you can automate it with Meshlab using markers or rough manual alignment, or do the same in Cloud Compare. Also this many pictures aren't needed either if you're gonna scrap the photogrammetry model, like a picture every 30 degrees should be enough to get a rough model for scan alignment. Another option is to align the pictures to the model in Meshlab, this process works quicker if your model has a simple geometry with no crevices.

      Thanks for the input. Will dig into meshlab, I had bad results with cc. About the amount of pictures you’re absolutely right, also saying this in the tutorial. For a texture much less is sufficient but I made first a photogrammetry model and then had the idea to try a scan as well. I did choose the manual workflow to show a always possible method independent from size shape and detail of the model

    Is the miraco taking still shots automatically? If so how do you set that up?

      No I use when ever possible singleshot mode and take my frames manually. It increase both quality and processing time. i highly recommend singleshot mode when ever possible
