Next time read the manual dude...
Thanks so much for this video. Very helpful!
how did you make that fit ?
Amazing work.
Wow 🤔😳 impressive 👍👏
Dealer cost $289 to replace, does not include module or programming.
That's highway robbery. Took them a minute to remove and replace it.
Good video thank God I found this one because everyone keeps saying it's underneath the dash where it is not underneath the dash but you two explain it perfectly good and hear all this time it was under the hood thank you for making this video
HI just a question do you still have to program the mudale thanks..
@@robcploft5398 sorry rob i found out it was not the ecm and got rid of the truck but most likely ya u would have to reprogram it to ur truck or car on most vehicles u have to but call up the dealership and see they should tell u if u have to or not and if they dont tell u b.c there greedy for money then ur going to have to look it up on line again am sorry i hope i gave u some help on ur question G.L eh
@@jhonsmiththe6th yes thanks for replying, did you find out what was the problem, because mine is saying reduce power traction, it runs like 5 minutes then stops,,
@@robcploft5398 No I did not I tried fixing it but it was some sort of electrical problem I couldn't find any sorting in the wire it just kept getting worse and worse so I just end up getting rid of the truck got fed up with i. What was going on was that it would not start and the dash would go crazy but after a couple of days then it would start and stay running but once you turned it off and waited five seconds it wouldn't turn on again. And then I would get the truck started even after 5 seconds it would run but then none of the lights would turn on or the dash would even work so every time I fixed one problem the other problem would break and then once I fixed that broken problem the other problem would break I just got so fed up it was three or four months of trying to figure out this problem so I ended up getting a Mercedes instead and getting rid of the truck The Mercedes was sold to me pretty cheap From my boss But I hope you have good luck better than me in getting your truck fixed so good luck my friend. I'm using text to speech can't type with my phone so if there's some wording that's wrong or sounds weird or off that's why sorry for that
My favorite Amera-barra swap. Is your turbo still vgt?
MICHIGAN-where guys put chevy motors into supras and supra motors into Ford's. ❤
It's a supra with mustang wheels and a gm engine 😅
Hello & thanks for such great videos. I have a situation where my 2005 Colorado goes into "Reduced Power" and then shows the message "Traction Fault". Would you happen to know anything about this? I have gone to soo many places & dealers & they can't figure it out because they can't replicate the situation because it only happens randomly. So when it happens, I get stranded for a few minutes, I shut it off, wait a few minutes and then I'm able to get going again. Now the weirdest is that EVEY TIME this happens, my power locks stop working, so I have to disconnect the battery for a few minutes and everything works back to normal again.... any advise? It would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!
Awesome video!
How much of a horsepower gain will I get from a Lime Swap Tune on my 2005 Trailblazer 4200?
How much horsepower from the tune?
How much HP and Torque? You used forged rods and Pistons? What gearbox you used? which blower are you using?
💯👍🏿⚜️
What happened to this car? I’ve been coming back to this video for a while now. to see if there are any updates but I just noticed it’s from 9 years ago lol
A mk3 supra with a gm vortec 4200 and mustang wheels thats a frankinstine car
Found this at just the right time, it perfectly shows how to physically remove/replace.
Till this day not a single person knows to manual swap these motors, you need a custom flywheel
Simply not true at all. Emtech makes flywheels now. I have a manual behind mind
@@benandjakehuston6321 for the blazer i6 4.2??
How are you controlling the vgt solenoid on the turbo
If I was drunk and saw this thing ripp down the street I'd be like: That's one mean ass Cobra
American Barra?
Life saver! Thank you so much!!!
Great video. I hafta change mine and get it programmed
What trans do yohbhave
Nice
Complete waste of my time.
Back in the early 90’s I had an ‘87 identical to this car.
I’m glad my car isn’t this slow.
Nice
Year?
Where is Michigan are you from? Nice car!
How's the Vortec Supra?
What flywheel and clutch/pressure plate did you use
great video, I don't think I could have done this without your instruction. I successfully uninstalled and reinstalled with PCM/TCM tune job. Thank you!
Hey man, thanks for the video. I have been racking my brain trying to figure out how to get the head off. I thought the cam shaft pulley needed to be removed but I see that you left it on. Did you have that head resurfaced? If you did, then did you remove that pulley and how? Thanks
I cheated. I cut the timing cover in half!
@@gonyoujeremy9596 thanks for the quick reply. I'm trying to save this 4814 that has been in my family since 1990. So I am correct, the cam shaft pulley needed to be removed prior to removing the head? I presume a pulley puller would do it?
@@robmoss6853 to do it right, yes. It's a special tool to remove the pulley. I bought several and none of them worked. Thus cutting the timing cover with the Dremel.

Title of video should be "Tuning the Vortec Supra on the busiest strech of road during rush hour."
Me: I should replace the AMC 4.2l in my jeep with one of these it just seems perfect. Same displacement, cylinders, and orientation. This fucking guy: na fuck that om gonna take an iconoc JDM l6 and replace with an american engine. NOt only that its gonna be a straight six too. I love it
An American inline 6, sounds rare. Heard the 4200 is the closest equivalent to the 2JZ and Ford Barra.
What good is a short video of an engine sitting there running and nothing else?
Supra with a i6 Chevy motor and mustang GT Wheels 💀💀💀
It was probably a body with no motor, trans or wheels.
That's my guess
@@sobunter2464 could be a salvage or partially cannibalized.
that rods toast
Who knew those Vortec 4200s sound badass especially with a turbski!!!!!
I’m very interested in the Supra build with the 4.2, I’d really enjoy specific info such as Year model and engine and trans info of your sourced parts specifically for the bell and transmission and clutch and flywheel as I’m looking to put a 4.2 with manual trans in a xcab s10. I’ve been told I’m insane and the haters gonna hate when it’s done but I got a full donor tb that runs and drives and I’m really looking forward to starting this project. Any and all info would be very much appreciated.
Ok so it's a Toyota with a Chevy 4200, Duramax turbo and running mustank wheels? I fucking love it lol
Not a Duramax, it's just an (Atlas) 4200 Vortec inline 6 the same engines you find in the Chevy Trailblazers.
@@tskraj3190 Duramax "TURBO", its in the description.........
@@JohnnyAnderson1 So you are using a "Turbo" from a Duramax?
@@tskraj3190 I’m not
@@tskraj3190 the OP is using a Duramax variable vain turbo on a 4200 L6 last i checked, yes. they respond very well to boost. over 500hp with 11 lbs.
There's more info on GMTNation.com
Is there any info on this car anywhere!??!?!??!?!?!?!
Nice video of cars going by
still has that turbo i6 supra sound haha
Technically its still a straight 6 supra much of the cars sound is due to the body
Actually sound depends on a lot of things. Exhaust, turbo, and firing order are the major ones. The turbo blends the exhaust pulses and helps make it sound similar to the Supra. The manifold and type of exhaust play another large role in how the sound develops.
