Most years the Yakima river freezes and piles up a thick layer of ice. This is the stage when things warm up and it starts to cut a channel and return to its original depth.

How I like to prepare a fresh catch of dungenesse crab by steaming. I use a propane King Kooker burner and steam the crab in a canning pot with the canning wires flipped over. I like to steam with clean seawater for a full flavor for twenty minutes or so and then quench in ice water. They can be re-steamed when you’re ready to heat up and eat the crab at home.

This easy fix saved me tons of money on parts and was a permanent solution. I cleaned the mass airflow sensor with the correct cleaner from the parts store. It’s called “mass airflow sensor cleaner.” Do not use brake cleaner or anything else as it can damage the sensor. In my opinion it’s the first thing to do if you get a check engine light related to O2 sensors or catalytic converter. It work...

How to clean crab prior to steaming. A bit safer than boiling them whole if toxins are a concern. This is my go-to method for preparing crab. Using sea water for the steam seems to add a nice bit of flavor.
