When I saw this, I assumed the filmmaker had seen the tryptichs from Gance's Napoleon (1927). But Napoleon was stripped of its three screens in the United States, and this appears to have been made earlier. The Italian Ambrosio company used a similar technique for 1920s travelogues.

Frank Zappa teaches Steve Allen to play The Bicycle (1963)
Просмотров 1,2 млн10 лет назад
Frank Zappa teaches Steve Allen to play The Bicycle (aired March 3, 1963) This televisual gem inspired me follow along which got me into endless trouble at family picnics and barbecues for playing my own symphonic masterpieces which, for some strange reason, nobody else seemed to enjoy. I extended Frank's genius to my exploration of the vacuum cleaner, ping pong balls and paddles, hammers on co...

Based on the 7/7's prime. It carries minor significance in Prime Number Set Theory Mathematics. It has significance in Numerology for the same reasons, but with links to Biblical references...
Day, in landscape - extended version
Просмотров 16910 лет назад
This video is an examination of the ontology of daily existence. It is an examination of the landscape of a day, filmed in landscape orientation (16x9). It coincidentally took just over 24hrs to render this video in 1920x1080p full resolution at maximum bit-depth. It is a collage of daily activity around my home. Although this video is long and may seem slow in parts, it is filled with visual a...
Intransitive Venus

"Intransitive Venus" is a short video with a collage flavour inspired by older classic Arthur Lipsett works. I think I may have missed my mark. I had to make many compromises along the way, as compared to my original vision. It retains a lo-fi feel while using some high quality sequences. It took more time than I had anticipated to create the many new graphics and minor animation sets along the...

Celebration of Light 2013 - Team UK July 27, 2013 10:00pm These images were taken from my balcony approximately 9.5 miles away from English Bay, since there was no way I was about to brave the crowds. Jostling for access on city transit trains is hard enough during regular traffic and our system leaves a lot to be desired when considering accessibility. I feel it's best to avoid the drunks, pic...
Annabelle Dances and Dances 1894-1897

One of the first film stars, Annabelle made her debut at the Columbian Exposition in 1893. She was a featured performer on Broadway when she was filmed by Dickson in 1894. Her Serpentine and Butterfly Dances were so popular that Dickson filmed her again for the American Mutoscope in 1896. - Paul Spehr Annabelle's skirt dances are among the earliest artistic works in film history. Looking direct...

Wild Guitar - Twist Fever [Wild Guitar ending altered.mpg]
I would love to ride a new bike and I can't afford it as I am cyberbyllied and I don't have money to pay for a lawyer to defend me against the guy nor against the government for my rights as I am a simple and hi humble woman with feelings nobody cares about it 😢so help me God and his mother Virgin Mary thank you 🙏🤗
I dedicate this segment to the PEDDLERS of Southington....
Here’s the value in having RUclips clips. Thanks a million!
We miss you so much !
Grande Frank ! 💪👏
Express Yourself Leave your zzzzipperrr Opened 🤠
Frank Zappa's stupidest idea. Two thumbs down! I do like his album Zoot Allures though!
Rumor has it the bikes are parked in Joe's Garage. 🎶🎵
Why?!?
Apresentador engraçadinho. Frank Zappa era o cara!
This is a piece of jewelry.
This cacophonous noise is not something I would call music. I’m surprised they didn’t bring up Spike Jones, whose band played a variety of unusual insturments. He was born in 1911.
Schoenberg
Scorch'n - it was so dry
Jesus think this Zappa guy is a jerk...
check out some of his later works!
Is this our frank zappa? Genius,.
He grows dental floss in Montana
Somehow,I feel Yoko Ono was in there somewhere.
Man, was the joke on them... Zappa went on to become a juggernaut
This is an absolute gem.
Overrated and egotistical even back then
IMMENSO FRANK ZAPPA !
He was nearly doing proto-beefheart hear but Allen is comedying it up
The Lsd era
Before CIA agent Zappa went more hardcore Operation Chaos.
This is actually so funny
Truly a mother of invention.
And he thinking like Aquarius sign.Innovative . What you be think if you be hear in this video Jokes about upload this show on you tube ...??
Skojarzyło mi się z einsturzende neubauten-halber mench ( extented ) .czy jakoś tak.na tej autostradzie nieczynnej klip.
Those were years of simplicity and creativity ... 😂😂
Zappa was just warming up.
Interesting to see that even then he defines himself as being a composer. And also that he's a bit shy. Thanks for sharing this ❤
“World’s Greatest Sinner” is streaming on Criterion.
I've never once seen anything that Zappa did that didn't blow my mind and increase my admiration for the maestro. Top notch American family.
Nice to see a young Frank without his trademark mustache
Spike Jones was playing classical opera on bicycle horns, tin cans, and pistol shots a couple decades before this. Frank was building on a history of serious musicians stepping outside the "establishment" to create music in new and interesting ways. Musical geniuses both. And Allen, though perhaps a bit more straight-laced, knew and recognized that genius, as he shared it, too!
22 year old Frank Zappa. 😎
Way before the art of noise /talking heads 🫨
That was a waste of time. Time I can’t get back.😡
People are missing that this IS a gag, Zappa is mocking the stupidity of the segment himself with his response to "how long have you been playing the bicycle?" A flippant " two weeks"; an incredible testament to the intelligence and humor of two men who were defining figures of their medium. It is so hard to find good examples of subtle and savvy media from this era, it is easy to get the impression that people were somehow more "dull" and stuffy. Only receptive to the most broad expressions of a format, but this clip proves otherwise. I suspect the reasoning for this is that the people coming these cultural time capsules are catering or only receptive to the aforementioned "broad" examples.
What a waste of time !
Always admired Frank. He was a musical visionary.
Look quick -- around 0:31 , 0:32 : where Frank got the idea for the mustache he sported later.
I was pretty sure that Frank Zappa born with mustaches.
i love seeking frank zappa appearing as he is in this
Brasileiro 24
Waiting for the shrums to kick in?
Genius beyond his time!!!
Imagine watching this in 1963 without having anything nearly this strange to compare this too. This was the birth of strange! I wonder 2 things. 1) How many people saw this, cringed and held there ears closed? 2) How many kids did this inspire to go out and be their strange selves. Zappa is definitely a love him or hate him character. I see now that he's just being true to himself
I wish this guy never picked up a cigarette.... he might still be with us to this day
