omg! Greek Lessons was already going to be my next read but now I'm especially looking forward to it ❤
I really hope you enjoy it! x
You can’t bring any text with you to the exam
for the prose they actually give you an extract to analyse in some components of the exam:)
Unfortunately there is nothing such as that in my country (Iraq). It’s not allowed to bring any kind of text with you to the exam. It was difficult to me to answer the MA poetry questions, because I couldn’t recall the lines.
thank you for this amazing explanation💕 I have an exam coming soon and none of the other videos from youtube made me understand this poem as much as yours 🥺
aww thanks so much, I'm glad I could help x
This is really helpful for my mocks and I enjoy how you break it down <3
aww thanks! best of luck x
Thank you so much for your great explanation <3
Glad it was helpful! x
Thank you for sharing 👏👏👏
These are so helpful !! Will you ever do the modernist poetry collection from Edexel ?
Yes, I'd love to get around to it eventually. But my plan for next year is to do Romantic period first:)
How about the gender role of women always being granted custody after a divorce, even if they were 100% responsible for it, and raising a generation of lawless chavs. Or the gender role of a gaggle of women at a hen party strip show, or the gender role of a 'feminist' who shows a bit of leg in an interview, and how about erasing this connotation that masculinity is toxic? My ex-wife was toxic, guilty of domestic violence, pretty cheap, and didn't own a single book yet she was granted, as they always are, custody of our daughter. Which we then dragged 70 miles off. Yeah, can we do away with that word 'toxic', that wouldn't have even occurred to anyone 15 years ago? And maybe YOU associate that physical labour as being male because it is, and has been taken for granted for far too long and look where it's got us. How about the gender role of a woman wasting that man's long labour on handbags? Are we allowed to mention any of these gender stereotypes as well? Or is this another one of those 'lets only analyse this in a way that casts a good light on us and a bad light on 'them' type channels... a poem! EDIT: I apologise if this made you consider negative gender roles from more than one obvious pov.
Thanks dear. It was amazing ❤
Hi! Great vid btw. Asked my teachers and they said not to mention whether you like the poem or not in the personal response but talk about the message the author is conveying.
Hi! Yes that's an important thing to mention! but if you use words like masterful, you show your personal response, because you show that you admire and think the poem is great:) not mandatory, but hey it's the small things x
Sounds like an interesting theme to a book, in a interesting location, that're like the antithesis to one another except for in the mind of the person being treated there, just to survive to a life he doesn't even want, sounds like a great book.
Great reading. Do you think the theme of vegetarianism or animals that you briefly mentioned could have as central a role in Empusion? I think of the way the narrators focus on leather the words leather and meat repeated named pointed at.
You talk too much 👽
there's a lot to talk about when it comes to interesting novels :)
I have just finished reading Dracula and I loved it. I loved the unselfish and sacrificial love and friendship of the group of people who fights against Dracula. I also love how the Christian faith is portrayed by the group. Of course the whole vampire science is not real, but it has a lot of truth in it regarding spiritual warfare.
Really enjoyed this analysis - great work +1
thank you !! x
absolutely fantastic review - seriously good +1
This is such a good analysis! Really helped me a ton for my presentation in English class. Everything makes so much more sense now
hii. is it easy to get an A after 5 months of prep?
