Lisa & Pol travel the world
Франция
Добавлен 13 фев 2023
Ahoj ! We're a Slovak-French couple currently backpacking through Africa for a year, from Cairo to Cape Town. We're taking our time, meeting many locals on the way, and trying to capture the most memorable moments on camera so we can share these memories with our family, friends, and whoever is interested :)
We're also quite active on instagram (@lisaandpol), where we post more frequently and save stories to help fellow backpackers travel on a budget. We will occasionally write blog articles as well, some how-to, budget recaps and some pictures.
You're welcome to our channel !

If you feel strongly about the cause and want to join the team as a volunteer, check out Chimfunshi's website here : www.chimfunshiwildlife.org/

Malawi, hidden gem of Africa
Просмотров 309Месяц назад
Backpacking Africa from Cairo to Cape Town #20 After 6 months of travel, we made it to Malawi! A country we knew very little about but that exceeded our expectations in every way, making it one of our favourite countries in Africa. We spent 16 days hitchhiking and using public transportation following the lake south, until we reached Cape Maclear. The few days spent in that village will be reme...

Backpacking Africa from Cairo to Cape Town #19 Day n°196 of our 10-month journey through Africa. We're waking up in Mzuzu, Malawi and heading to Nkhata Bay, where we're staying at the Butterfly Space. It's a pretty representative day, waking up at a Couchsurfer's, taking public transportation, meeting and playing with kids, walking a lot, reading, working a bit. The book Pol mentions : American...

Starting in Stone Town, we got to Jambiani for a couple of days. There we rented a scooter for 3 days, exploring the south of the island. Mtende Beach and a secret vacation for donation place. Mohamed then showed us arou...

Brother, are you Muslim, I am speaking from Bangladesh, I could see a lot of Uganda in your two videos, it was very good, and are you two from France?
Hey, thank you for the kind message! We're not Muslim, Pol is french and Lisa is from Slovakia 😊
What an enjoyable and sweet video of your experiences in Uganda. I will be going in Feb. and am now more excited to explore this beautiful country
Oh you're gonna love it ! Enjoy !
Thank you for visiting US🇷🇼
Our pleasure!
Your emotion is contagious! ruclips.net/video/rzlVd32OOyw/видео.html
Hi Lisa and Pol! Thank you for your nice vlog about Nairobi and Maasai mara, just a quick question, what camera did you use to take videos/pictures Maasai Mara? Thank you!
Hey, thanks! We actually used our phone only for our entire African journey, so the footage was made simply on a Samsung S22 or Samsung S23! We are upgrading our gear for our next adventure though :)
Thanks so much for your quick reply and I wish you two the very best
good job, Pol@Lisa❤
If you love my country I love u too.
Thank you for your love for our country, Uganda the Pearl of Africa. We really appreciate
It is an easy country to love ! 🫶🏽
Hello there, I have visited your RUclips channel, Your videos are amazing and I love your every videos But I found some problems. If you solve all these problems in your channel then you will get double views, double subscribers and you can earn double money from your channel. Do you want to discuss how to solve these problems?
Hey, happy to hear you love our videos, thanks for watching them ! By the way at the moment we earn exactly 0€ from the videos, so we're not so interested in doubling that amount 😂
where are you guys from, very rare accent, not often to hear this English accent
Hey, Lisa is from Slovakia and Pol from France, but we've been living in Paris the last years so both our accents might sound more french 😊
Im sure it felt like they were going to drop you in those bikes but they are such naturals at it, even in rocky and slippery roads, its incredible how fit they are. grew up there and one of my favorite thing is the variety of street food so much great street food dishes and kind ppl
Oh yes, we were so impressed with their skills, especially on this stretch going up to the Mushroom Farm. We had lost a bit of trust in boda drivers in Uganda after a very close call, but these guys in Malawi really made up for it!
how to find him, contact, ? how to get there/
Just get to Harar and ask around, everyone knows him, he is outside every night. Follow the hyenas 😅
Lastly, around what time he normally starts?
When it's dark, internet tells me it starts between 6:30 and 7:30pm, we can't remember when we got there.
Much thanks
❤❤
Title is travelling on a budget, yet no prices are given for food, transport or hotels.
We're definitely travelling on a budget, and you're right we could do a better job of sharing the prices directly in the video. On this blogpost you'll find the prices of all our accommodations across Tanzania : lisaandpol.com/posts/honest-review-of-accommodations-we-tried-all-over-tanzania A lot of information about prices, itineraries and daily life is available on our highlight "Zanzibar" on our instagram @lisaandpol. Here is a few extra prices : Scooter rental 48h + driving permit + petrol : 35$ Average accommodation for 2 people per night : 20$ Food for 2 people per day : approx 20$ (1 restaurant/day and then street food or groceries) Overall, our average daily spending is 38$/day/person for our 10-month journey in Africa, and Zanzibar was within that range. Hope this helps :)
Amazing - we took the train in 2009 from Mbeya to Dar Es Salaam - and they have still the same ticket! By the way, we just had 10 hours delay 🙂
This train feels like it's stuck in time, it will probably be the same tickets in 10 years as well 🙂
Wow,Awesome
Makunduchi south top !!!
Hello, how much did you rent the scooter?
85000TZS for 48h, including the driving permit. Negotiated directly with local guys in Jambiani.
And it's so unfortunate that they want to also destroy Murchison falls to create dams. There were even more beautiful falls ie, owen & ripon falls but they destroyed them. Uganda is a very beautiful country with almost everything but it's just unfortunate that we hv bad leaders. Hopefully one day we get leaders that love the country. Thank you for visiting the pearl of Africa
Hi...what week in February was this? Early or late? Weather seems perfect
Hey, we were probably quite lucky, it was sunny but cold, during the 2nd week of the month (10th to 12th).
Y’all sound like the French accent….jIiRrafiis 😭😭😭… so cute 0:55
😭😅🫶🏽
Welcome to upper Egypt Welcome to my place ❤
Thank you ❤
So glad you both had a good time. Fun video to watch! Safe journeys!
Thanks so much!
What date did you go in Florence? Wondering how cold it is
Hey, we were there from the 10th to the 13th of February.
I loved this video very much.
Thank you for the kind words 🫶🏽
Been there just before Covid - was great - make sure to visit the lovely restaurant owned by the Scottish women (so I was told, but I never met her). I had a lovely shepherds pie).
Thanks for the tips!
As a Rwandan, thank you for visiting our country!! I do however want to point out, Hotel Rwanda does not recount the real story entirely of the Genocide against the Tutsi compared to what the west has sold to the world, I do hope you try watching other documentaries like The 600, Shooting Dogs and 100 days instead, I hope you visit our country again😇
I'm willing to visit Rwanda, Will you advise me
Thanks for your comment, you're totally right about the movie, thanks for the recommendations 😊
❤❤❤❤

Hi did you take Malaria prevention pills when going to Zanzibar?
Hey, we did not because we were spending more than 6 months in the zone with mosquitos, so we didn't take any pill. We had with us though some Malarone to take as treatment. Pol ended up having Malaria a few months later in Namibia, but it was treated very nicely so it was no big deal.
@@LisaAndPol Okay, thanks for the feedback 🙏
