Push&Pull - a 3D design technique #fusion360
I am usually overcomplicating things.
For 3D modelling there is a technique to make modeling simpler that I call "Push&Pull" and which I wanted to absorb into my workflow for a long time now.
In this video I show its strength on a practal example - for a crane extension to the loft bed of my kids..

My history with PCBs and SMD components goes back a long long way. I designed and manufactures PCB in my kitchen, drilled holes, cut pieces, connected layers and used a Pizza oven to solder them. I simply had a good time. Things were relatively big and well to handle. In recent years things got a lot smaller and harder to handle. Until a decisive repair job of a ripped of USB socket that couldn...

    Does this project need 12v for the motor and 5v for the esp, or just 5v for both? Oh, is power coming from the motor driver to the esp?

    • @iambuschi
      @iambuschi День назад

      Power is usually the most annoying part. I wanted to drive everything from one source initially.. The driver was unhappy with 5V although that should be enough for the TMC2208.. Then I altered to 12v and wanted to derive the 3.3 from that too.. Using a linear voltage reg is was too much power dissipation as the ESP draw considerable current.. However, it is all possible with the correct step down supply chips.. In the end I supplied 12v to the driver and kept USB connected to the ESP board I believe..

    Thanks for the amazing technique Buschi ! I tried the following: I created 2 parameters, one for the thickness and one for the width of one side of the hexagon. In sketch I created a hexagon and an offset hexagon distanced by (thickness parameter) and applied the side parameter. I added two axes as in Buschi’s method. I extruded the outer hexagon. then did the rectangular pattern. for the spacing I use sqrt(3) * side + thickness. it sounds complicated but all the design is controlled by the 2 parameters.

I assume there is something like a gradual gradient color change.. Or do you want to dynamically transition between segment? Altering the colors until they match? Sounds pretty unique..
