Exploring London | H-Mart Mukbang, Forbidden Planet, Richmond Park
I wanted to introduce my Exploring London series where I take you all to London with me and show you the places that I go. In todays video, I went to Oseya, a H-Mart and show you all the yummy food that I bought and do a little Mukbang. I take you to a popular collectible store called Forbidden planet, where you can buy all things anime, marvel and much more. It's a place for everyone who want to geek out on their favourite things. The vlog ends on a peaceful scope at Richmond Park. One of the best Parks to go in London that has the hustle and bustle of animals instead of the usual people.

Had male GPs my whole life, they mentioned PCOS once but there wasn’t a lot of information 10 years ago. I have a lot of resentment towards them at the moment, but am glad I’ve met a GP who finally cares. Thank you so much for your video! It’s giving me hope ❤

      Hey! Omg, I definitely don't think it's new. My mum is about to turn 50 and she has undiagnosed PCOS. She also had the same problems as me and struggled to get pregnant, after telling her about my diagnosis, she also realised that thats what she had and it went undiagnosed as doctors never told her what it was and prescribed her birth controls. I think this is what has been happening for many years! But I'm so glad that we live in a generation where we can be educated and challenge doctors to helping us out more! <3

    My Doctor won't give me anything to help lose weight he says I need to be severely obese. I was working out 5 days a week cardio and weights and lost 20 lbs in two months and eating healthier. But the weight loss suddenly stopped and I've been at the same weight for a month now eating the same amount of calories. Idk whatever to do. I also started having horrible low blood sugar since I started working out many times. I get physically shaky, nausea, blurry vision, confused. Even if I eat protein before my workout it doesn't help. I just feel defeated. I don't know what else to do.

    So much of this sounds familiar like maybe I have PCOS... The only thing I would say, is do not stay on metformin long term, if you can help it! Im on metformin *FOR TYPE 2 DIABETES* that I got after being overweight & insulin resistant for so long... and at first I lost 40 pounds! The first 6 months was great! Then it had to be adjusted cuz it wasn't being as effective... weight loss stopped, regardless of adjusting the dosage. And then 6 months of no weight loss or gain, I began gaining all of it back. Now (2 years total) I'm back to square one weight-wise, still taking metformin for T2-Diabetes, looking for alternatives to help manage my insulin/blood sugar, because the metformin is starting to not be as effective AGAIN! and I don't want it adjusted or increased... I have a lot of pain in my uterus during periods, and can painfully feel when my ovaries are ovulating between periods. They are regular now (for the past couple years) but my periods used to be very irregular. Went 8 months without one, one time, for example... but even though they are regular now, I experience a lot of pain... And hair loss, can't lose weight no matter what I do, hormonal acne sometimes... I also started young! I was 11 (35 now) when I first started. Maybe there is a correlation to starting young? I dunno, but metformin is not a long term solution! I'm on here looking at vids talking about natural/herbal supplements they were able to take that helped. Like Magnesium, Chromium Picolinate, Myo-Inositol & D-Chiro Inositol... Cuz metformin ain't it! And I'm not going on birth control! Exactly because (as you said) it has horrible side effects!

      I'm so sorry you feel this way, I know for myself, even i feel this way. Even when i have lost weight. I think PCOS also affects your mental stability and knowing how hard it is to lose weight when you have PCOS while you watch everyone around you losing weight by maybe just cutting out little food and working out, can make you feel terrible. Especially as sometimes it feels we may be putting in 10 x hard work. All i want to say is keep working on yourself and don't compare anyones journey to yourself. If you workout, eat good food then that's the best thing for you and your body and you don't have to feel alone. Put pressure on your doctor to get things checked up with your PCOS when you don't see improvements too.

      Oh i'm so sorry you've had to go through all of this! I'm not a doctor or a professional but i was also told to go on the pill but it didn't really help with my PCOS and i had alot of side effect. With PCOS, it's important to get loads of blood works done and listening to your body. I know inositol is really beneficial and so is Berberine but it's always great to consult your doctor before you try anything new. One thing i've had to learn is instead of asking my doctor what it is, is talking to your doctor and telling them what you think you might have and researching about it. Sometimes they will only give you right guidance if you know about your own body and some symptoms or names of what you might have and throwing it at them and see if they can get you tested

      Free Testosterone is what causes the hair growth. So metformin can help in reducing the androgens once insulin resistance subsides but it doesn’t always work for everyone. Spearmint tea (not other mints) and spearmint oil help to reduce testosterone a lot and helps with the hair.

I would only workout out 2 times a week but lost so much weight and kept it off. I give myself oiled head massages once a week which helps the hair loss and keep up my skin care and avoid dairy for acne which is linked to pcos. I also want to tell my mum but whenever I tell her about issues related to my health she blames it on me saying that I'm just unhygienic and honestly, up until a few weeks ago I believed her. Hi! I’m so sorry that you’ve been feeling this way, especially alone, I definitely don’t want you to feel this way at all! If you need to send me a message on Instagram please do, it’s @inner.chai and I’m pretty quick on replying! ❤️ In regards to talking to your doctor, I 100% recommend it. Even if the results come back that you don’t have PCOS, atleast you tried to figure out your health and have been trying to discover what this is. Be very specific with them, tell them your symptoms and mention that these relate to PCOS symptoms. If you can get hormone blood checks done and also scans to see if you have cysts in your ovaries or any other abnormalities. There will be times that doctors might not listen to you, tell you to take the birth control (please do not do this, this does not heal PCOS, it just masks it) , or to come back when you want to get pregnant. But it’s important to emphasis with them that this affects your mental health a lot and they have every obligation to run tests to find out the root cause. In regards to your mum completely ignoring your feelings, especially your health, I’m so sorry about this! Only people going through health issues realise what it really means when they’re facing the symptoms which is why your mum doesn’t understand. I think you can come up to her with facts but if she doesn’t understand, then she doesn’t. However, this doesn’t mean that you don’t have any health complications. So please don’t ignore it. PCOS is not a case of being unhygienic but can be caused by hormonal imbalance and also genetics. This is something you can’t control without finding out the imbalance. Again, as mentioned before, if you need to reach out and ask any questions, get in touch with me on Instagram and I’d be happy to hear you out! xx ❤️

    You got your period because you didn’t eat for long hours of the day which is healthy, so long as you eat a generous portion of food during the hours you eat. So I don’t think “starving” was necessarily bad for you. Some people lose periods when they’re skinny and starving themselves because their body needs food. Your body had enough fat storage to for it to not become unhealthy for you to “starve” This bring me onto how I lost weight by “starving” (intermittent fasting) I have PCOS and I’ve lost weight and reduced unwanted hair growth by doing intermittent fasting. We have microbes in our gut that cleans your digestive system when we don’t eat for 12-16 hours. The longer the better. If you’re constantly grazing the microbes don’t get a chance to start cleaning. Think of it as a cleaning crew, they can only clean the mess when no one is in their way. These microbes clean out any bacteria that can cause diseases and illnesses. Health starts from your gut. We don’t need to eat so much. If you give yourself a window to eat, you’ll be full and satisfied with the few hours you give yourself to eat. You want to aim to eat healthy food for at least 6 days a week. Have as much Protein during your eating window to fuel your muscles, reduce your carbs but not eliminate( half a cup of rice, half a cup of pasta) Have lentils, a big plateful with salad. And a good portion of vegetables along with yoghurt and fruits. You can literally have 2 to 3 meals within your eating window. Keep your 6 days as nutritional as possible. But one day a week allow yourself to eat whatever you want, but has to be within the window hour. So my husband and I pig out on fried take out for the one day a week. If there’s a day where you want to eat out with a friend for breakfast and dinner then go for it, don’t restrict yourself from the enjoyment of food. But don’t do this regularly, do it that one day and go back to intermittent fasting. You can drink coffee and water on an empty stomach, coffee for energy and water to clean out your system. You’ll see eventually you’ll have energy as long as you eat healthy and wont need coffee for energy. Along with intermittent fasting you have to do steps, even if it’s on the spot while you watch your favourite series. Aim to do 10+k steps. While you’re on an empty stomach walking will burn fat. That’s how I’ve lost weight and reduced the unwanted hair, if anyone would like more info then let me know and I’ll try to help.

      i really dont mean to be rude and i am so happy that intermittent fasting works for u! but keep in mind that she may have really been starving herself. pcos has a 4x more rate of having eating disorders than a person without pcos. this may not have been her case but for me, i went days without eating because i was so ashamed of my body and it was the only thing that helped me lose weight (ofc i gained it all back, it is not at all sustainable). i am only saying something because assuming that she was fasting vs starving (two VERY different terms) and then saying that it is a good idea to "starve" may not be the best way to get your point across and can be a little hurtful. again, i try to spread awareness about the ed and pcos situation and just wanted to lyk about another perspective :)

    • @InnerChai
      @InnerChai Год назад

      Hey Billie! I didn’t have spotting, I’m not too sure if you haven’t had your period in a while and that’s why it’s happening? I didn’t get my period for 3 years and only got my period 5-6 month of taking metformin. Going vegan while taking metformin helped me get my period back. However, I mostly eat vegan and eat vegeterian food on the weekends and my periods have been doing fine. First week being on the metformin wasn’t too great, loose stool, headaches, fatigue and nauseous. I actually tried to take it easy. I didn’t work out my first 2 weeks but did try to eat healthier. I have actually opted to eat gluten free last year for a month, but I was quite lethargic, being vegan meant there was hardly anything for me to eat. Something that I like focusing on is looking at what our ancestors ate. I don’t mean cavemen but mostly what our grandparents ate who were always healthy and follow that thumb rule. But going dairy free definitely help. I would also say, as it’s just the beginning metformin will give you a lot of side effects, I got useto it in a couple of weeks though. Some people also opt for inositol instead, apparently it is as affective and metformin

    Congrats! On your weight loss and getting your period back 🤍 I’m scared of taking metformin as I only used inositol and it did help with my period regulation but the weight just keeps going up even with watching my food and working out. How bad were the side effects at first? And were you counting your calories while taking it in the first 2-3 months? 🤍

      Heyyyaaa! I’m glad that inositol has helped with your period regulation! ❤️ So when I started taking metformin 1x a day, I didn’t have that much side effects but I did get nauseous and loose stools. Here and there, I’ll get loose stools due to not eating adequately when taking metformin. However, it does subside after a week or two. I’d suggest start eating clean and working out as soon as you take metformin to start seeing results. However, don’t just eat salad, eat nutrient dense foods or low GI foods. Also very beneficial to take b12 vitamins alongside metformin as metformin is know to lower your b12 ❤️ will be coming out with a supplement to take with PCOS video soon! ✨

    Hey! Thank you for sharing your journey, its good to see that I'm not alone in this. I've got PCOS too and just started metformin a week ago, just wondering if you are still taking it? My doctor prescribed it to me for 3 months and I'm wondering about the next steps after the 3 month line.

      Hey! So I’ve actually been taking metformin for 2-3 years now! It’s been a while but I’m on 1500mg. I’m hoping I can transition out if it but it’s definitely my safety net for me as I have insulin resistance. I would say go for it! But it you feel that it’s got too many side effects, you can also try inositol and take 1,500mg of that too. People also say turmeric works wonders! I would definitely recommend checking out @pcos.weightloss on Instagram and on here. They have great tips and advice and an alternative for metformin.

    Question did you ever have your pituitary gland checked ? Also what was the name of the workout video on you tube ??? Thank you !

    • @InnerChai
      @InnerChai Год назад

      Hi Sarah! Thank you for the question! So unfortunately, my gp/doctor isn’t much helpful with the whole PCOS situation. Either it is to do blood tests or getting an ultrasound on my ovaries. But i do want to ask you want the relation would be to get your pituitary gland checked so I can hopefully ask my gp or a professional in relation to this x In regards to the workouts. When I went vegan and lost 10kg, my workout consisted of: - Blogilates extreme abs workout 25 minutes at home workout -blogilates leg slimming cardio Pilates workout. Pilates has helped me out alot in this area and blogilates mainly focuses on that aswell. I do also further suggest these workout -30 minutes head to toe tone with weights The thing about PCOS is sometimes those rough fat burning cardio workouts end up doing us the worst. We put on weight because our stress hormones get elevated, and you know for people with PCOS that can be bad. So I would suggest to go for slow workouts or even slow weighted workouts to tone your body. Pilates is a great way to help lose weight and overall just be stronger. If you go through blogilates RUclips or website, she has some great workouts and whatever you feel suitable with doing, go for that! One thing I also learned is that we don’t have to completely cut of cardio. Apparently 30 minutes max should be fine but anything more than that can do some damage. So you can go on a long walk, add some weights and just feel stronger. Ps. I’m not where I want to be 😂 but so far I’m able to maintain when I never was able to do that. I can go without exercise for a week and still feel good. I have my period every month aswell! I hope this helps!

      @@InnerChai awww thank you !! I’m 37 now and I’ve been battling pcos since 16 and it’s always been a uphill battle . The more research I’ve recently found is that there is a strong connection with the pituitary and pcos because the pituitary is responsible for the hormone production and can cause pcos . They would check your prolactin level and cortisol levels . It’s seems like you got your period really early just like me and struggled with hair on body issues right from the start . Cushings disease can cause pcos , depression, anxiety , a back neck hump , textured skin , excessive body hair , infertility, and inability to lose weight . Cushings is greatly under-diagnosed and often missed with patients with pcos . You have to really push to get tested , I’m right there too to get the labs done ❤️ positive vibes ❤️❤️❤️❤️
