Does any of this ring true for you, too?
I had a traumatic childhood. I didn't realize it until as a young adult, but I didn't have a mind or thought of my own. I repeatedly went for relationships that seemed 'meant to be' just to learn later that I was keeping myself in a box - the box I grew up in and was used to my whole life. I had gone through life up until that point feeling very small, making everyone else feel comfortable, apologizing for being me, and uncertain of my place or purpose in this world. After I had children, things changed. I wanted to protect. I wanted happiness and joy to emanate from my girls. I realized it was never a priority of mine to be truly happy, so how would my kids learn that it should be a priority of theirs?

Going through separation and divorce, and then single motherhood, I discovered ME, an incredible life, and a purpose. I hope I can help someone else out there to know you are not alone - and life not only gets better, it is amazing.
