Which part number is for the gear?
I just added the parts to my truck tonight and it works perfectly! It should have come with a slipper clutch as an OEM part. The pinion didn't line up with the spur gear until I flipped it backwards. Dead on! Thank you sharing your discovery through this video. I anticipate so much less damage now. 👍😃

Ended up just buying the Redcat gen 7 just came in so what would be our tips on making it a little bit better without spending money I don't mind spending money on it but I want to do some mods without spending cash
Great advice and vid! So I assume this is for parts ECX1024 for the slipper and ECX1076 for the Spur? Is that the stock spur you're using? I'm getting my Gen 7 Pro in a couple of days, found it cheap now that the Gen 8 is out.
This was a great help. I am ordering a gen 7 sport for my son. I was planning on getting the high steer kit for it. After watching this I know I need to upgrade the axles at the same time.
The Gen7 pro comes with plastic high steer knuckles. Add that to the aluminum shocks, better tire foam, and better ring gear carriers and it is worth the extra money.

I like the look of the War Head body. Maybe add a Pro-line rear cage of Ascender rear cage.

it allows the motor to slip when the drivetrain comes under extreme stress. basically if you have a tire that comes up the air and freespins then hits something grippy it will shock load the drivetrain and something will usually break(transmission, driveshafts, axle shafts, differentials, ect.) this will allow the driveline to slip so it wont break.

Cool video, I have a Pro that I stripped down. Removed the inner fenders for sure. I did do the upgrades but couldn't get that screw out of the steering linkage. I will have help this coming weekend to complete my rig.
@freelandrc my slipper starts slipping at about half throttle is that about right?

I recommended the Gen 7 Sport to a couple friends of mine that are just starting. They're loving them, and I'm very impressed with it. I'm thinking about buying one myself just to have another truck to meddle with. The price is hard to beat.

Would this still work if I removed the slotted attachment to the stock redcat gear and just added on the boost pressure plates and spring
bean boi no need the ECX gear that goes with it. They do have a 87tooth 48pitch.
Nice video, I have a question though. How did you cut your spring?? I just used a pair of wire cutters to cut mine. My problem is once i put everything on and tighten the spring down its making the gear kick up on one side and when you spin the tires the gear is so wobbly that you couldn't run it. I can put the original back on and it works fine?? only thing I can think of its the way I cut the spring.. Need some advice...
Blake Love i had the same problem at first i used a grinder to get the spring perfectly flat once i did that the woble was gone
Thanks for the info, I was kinda thinking it was the spring causing it...
UPDATE, if your like me and mess up the only spring you have :( a piece of nitro fuel tubing cut to length the same as with the spring just enough threads to get the nut started works like a charm...c

Michael Sarabia I need to know also. I have the parts but couldn't take out that screw that's stuck in the link. I do have aluminum c-hubs and axles
