@@andrewwilson6091 haha - was a steady amount coming down track from start to top - I enjoyed it - it wasn’t a cold day and the amount of snow surprised me after 800m - was a shock
Really not nice weather for a hike, though☺
@@AnneHeyns no - not a good day but sometimes weather changes on the way up - in this case it didn’t :( but I’ll get back for the view in a few weeks - thanks for watching

@@TheJimmythecorkscrew yeah I knew weather was going to be bad - but she really broke up bad at top - it was one for the memories that’s for sure
Drove a crane all the way up there once, it was a glorious day and you could every mountain in a full circle, all the way from Cradle to Strahan as well, but yep, she's steep. When you said you were walking from the boom gate I thought that's not going to be fun
@@nigelhodges7173 haha yeah it would have been amazing view if it was clear - it sure was a long walk - 16.8k by the time I walked down - Mabee one day I’ll go back - one day mate

Thanks for the shout out, appreciated 😊 just a heads up Mt Horror boom gate is locked up during colder months, boom gate is open of a day during the summer. But if you walk up that wont matter at all, it is a fair walk from the boom gate though. The views up at the lookout are epic and worth it.

Hi Average Joe, I’m heading up Monday to do Mt Patrick - watched your video and just wondering is there is a rock cairn or anything to signify the start of the track proper, any tips would be great - Cheers Bunny
@@user-ue8cj4zc1r all I can say is it’s easier if u follow the track to the top and cutt through the back to the summit - it’s a short boreing walk with not much view at all
@@user-ue8cj4zc1r let me re do that - park at gate - follow old fire trail to top - look on all trails and cut through to the right to the summit - the other way is straight up the front which I found annoying - then return the same way u came - it’s safe to do in wet - just download it on all trails and youl see what I mean - while your there do mt penny west which is just up road at crossing - this one is a little more dense but track is on all trails - kill two Abel’s in one day - enjoy your walk

The cold, wet, windy and generally miserable weather days help one appreciate, even more, the days where the weather is warm, sunny and glorious - particularly on multi-day walks.
