The trap of being a better self | growing up abroad
Hello! Welcome back to my channel. In today’s video, we’ll be talking about my perspective and story on how the mindset of constantly trying to become a “better self” can trap us in cycles of self-criticism and perfectionism. This often leaves us feeling dissatisfied with ourselves and prevents us from appreciating the present moment. In the video I’ll chat about how this impacted my transition from college to professional working environment, and also share my personal journey toward reclaiming self-acceptance and building a healthier approach to growth.
I hope you like this video.

Could I please also ask for your suggestions on what you want to see next on this channel as I cannot make up my mind!🥲any idea will be helpful. Thank you for your continuous support☺️ - bobo

The comment you don't want to hear is, 'This tea tastes like dishwater!' 🤣
Your English is excellent, I would have guessed you had been raised bi-lingual.

What do people from Hong Kong look like?
Love the video Bobo!
Thank you!
Amazing! Love the explanations which are super helpful for someone like me who just started exploring the industry
Thank you!
Is this your real Name..? It's hard to pronounce, if it is not your real name maybe you should pick something user to pronounce..! 🤔🤔
Bobo in UK is not difficult to pronounce.
Another great video! 😊 Thanks for taking us along on your day 💐
Thank you for your support!
🥰
Like this if you are looping the song like me
Very informative video!! And good to know of other alternatives now that Pret subscription is gone 😭😭
Order with the starbucks app can skip the queue 😃
such a detailed video!
Thank you! Glad you liked it
Really interesting video and I love the new visuals! Super informative
I had the Club Pret subscription while I worked cose to one. It was worth it as I drink 2 plus coffees a day!
Yes, the more you drink, the better the value will be!
Very interesting, Bobo. An excellent analysis. I drink one coffee a day in the morning, but never from Starbucks, because I don't like their coffee. I mostly make my own espresso at home, but I like to visit a cafe sometimes for social purposes. I've trained them to make me a Viennese Grosser Brauner coffee, which is my favourite! All the best from Edinburgh 🏰
I bet they have perfected your Viennese Grosser Brauner!
Great to see a fellow badminton enthusiast! Keep up the great videos!
This is cool, great to see another London based creator!
Somehow, the algorithm brought me here. But I watched your video and I'm glad you're enjoying life in the UK. I read a lot of negativity (and for a lot of people, rightly so) about life in the UK sometimes but it is refreshing to see someone talk positively about their life here. In terms of making friends at work, a lot of people here really value the separation of work and personal life. Working in cities in the UK can be quite lonely, but while it's good to have cordial relationships with people we work with, finding groups/activities outside of work is a really good way to develop new friendships. London has a scene for everything - different music scenes, video game scenes, acting and comedy scenes, activities like run clubs, climbing, football (for all levels beginner to experienced!), table tennis, badminton, tennis and also meetup events for shared interests like language exchange, cooking classes, art classes etc and are all great ways to meet new people and regularly come into contact with the same people to start building friendships.
Thank you for the kind response and yes, I agree :)
🎉🎉🎉
Nice to see you, and you look really well :) Love the ideas. All the best from Edinburgh 💐

Plot twist: The power is coming from an extension cord connected to a nearby shed but the idea has people thinking.
I was wondering, why not solar? 😆 Because it’s Finny😁
Until the usb hole gest wet and short circuits your cable lmao cool but stupid
The question is how can it get wet? Please don’t say because of rain🤣
Genius. Here in Germany you need special permission to build something like that and make it publicly available. Otherwise, they woud make you take it down because he would be providing a service without license... when it comes to energy and possible money making the lobby is very strong in Germany 😢
Here in the US you need to not live around any black or brown people otherwise they would just destroy this
Interesting information! Thank you for sharing :)
@@BoboinLdn hes lying about who he is so not so good information lol
Congratulations, your phone is now hacked 😂
This is actually awesome😂

A great video. So deep. You're a good example of what hard work and sound decision-making can achieve. I see a very bright future for you 😊
Cons: Getting shanked Pros: ???
London has a massive divide between the real Londoners, and those who just live in London. Firstly, a lot of people just move there to play, and have a fancy job. You're never going to be considered gang if you fall into that category, so locals are not really going to waste time building a relationship with you. Also, those rich assholes who move to London because they think it will be cool and they want a fancy job are pretty superficial, so all their relationships seem transactional. Being a born and bred Londoner I felt that working there I was always socializing and close to my coworkers because we had a lot in common, and shared roots there. I imagine if I was an outsider that I wouldn't have much in common with a local, and that most of my time I would have more in common with other ex-pats, but they suck for the most part, so it would be a bit alienating.
Interesting point of view. I’ve been working for donkey years and I understand what you said. Take heed, readers!!
London is a shit hole. Negotiate remote and move to Cyprus, Spain or something like that to enjoy your life
Interesting insights. Have you ever considered/applied for jobs outside of London? I gather your particular job/role might limit you a bit, but, I personally find London... annoying.
I have! For now I think London is alright :)
You have developed an English accent!
Well done Wenjie x love this! everything's covered!
Thanks Mai!
🎉🎉🎉Love it!
