Moto Therapy Weekend

Unfortunately the cabin has been on hold for the last 6 weeks as all my free time has been devoted to one of my rental properties that was destroyed by the previous tenant. But i was able to sneak in a weekend of racing motocross with my good buddies Stacy Griffin and Doug Wentzle at Budds Creek in Md
Log Cabin build part 4

Didnt really have much new to film but wanted to get a video out regardless. I focused on the effort it takes to get just one row of logs in place. I realize i could rent equipment, rig up some pulleys and cables etc but this build was inspired by those that built their homes in the wilderness with nothing but hand tools. ill afford myself the luxuries of modern equipment when its needed i.e. c...

Nice
Nicely done, I'm still looking at dual sports & this little bikes keeps hanging on to my list..... I like the air cooled as it's just less crap to worry about. This & the 300L Rally version are on my short list. So I appreciate your work so I can see some mods available for this bike. Seeing is believing.... peace
Great review! Looks just like my '22. I have added many farkles to it and I really enjoy it!
Impressive mpgs, I get 11-12 highway with my 2023 low roof cargo van na 3.5 with 2 ladders on the roof. Same as I got with my 6.0 6 speed express utility body with ladders on the roof lol
That's with me babying it....we pay for our own fuel and since we cover over 100k miles a year transporting new motorhomes the name of the game is fuel mileage
My 2023 KLR 650 cranks over slowly. It always starts.
Doesn’t even look like this bike has ever been ridden!!! Nice!!
Hey man any chance you have some more detail on the door?! I just scooped a express 3500 cutaway with a 12ft box! Looking to do a rear ramp door as well! Was wanting to see how they framed it out and did the seals and framing in the box for it to seal to!
A company in Richmond va designed and installed the door frame for me...i think it was 1200 bucks total....top notch job. I ride my 500lb klr up it no problem. American metal fabricators...These guys were very professional. Larry flora was the supervisor.
Good for your dad doing this at his age. I'm 77 and getting ready to buy a XT250 and set it up.
That's great! Good luck with the build. I see you follow boxvan dee. I built out a small box van as well there's a video of it on my channel if you'd like to check it out too. Best of luck with the xt!

Brillant build man! Very cool

Love this. Gives me an idea for storage and transport for a indian challenger and a M109r. I just need room for a tool chest and thats it.
Crazy that I had those same 2 bikes. Just sold the m109r.
Sooo cool
You didn't have to "cure" the new logs? Just cut them down and add them to the wall?
No those ones I was cutting down weren't used for the walls...they're curing for future use. Dotty just wanted to be in the video so....
You are so dang strong! I'm proud of you!! Great job so far. This is so cool
At 70+ I really feel the vibrations in the handlebars on mine. Sucks.
nice windshield
Cardiac
Wow! Thats nice!
Appreciate it! Just got one of these. Looking to do a miniature adventure build
Very cool video. I could hear the American Pickers singing "Honey Hole!" when you toured that general store. I find it interesting that you, as a serious MX guy, chose the KLR as an adventure bike. I was walking through a showroom with a buddy of mine just the other day, and a KLR was on sale there for less than $6K, and my buddy was pshawing it for its lack of "serious" suspension features, etc. I can't remember the brand/model of the bike he compared it to (on the same showroom floor), but that other bike had higher-grade forks with more travel, adjustments, etc. Problem is, it cost $10K, nearly twice as much. I argued that the KLR was a better value for what it was designed to do, essentially the exact kind of riding you were doing in this video. It doesn't need that other stuff. I think you made my point with this video. Thoughts?
Whoa! Stay safe out there.
Great video. Might suggest a little intro for future videos to let a newbie like myself know what the heck you're doing--an RV delivery. I was like, "Wait, this guy just built a U-Haul RV for $10K, and now he's out wheelin' a $150K rig? Oh...It's a delivery. :^)
Wow--I watch of "Van Life" videos and have had in mind a mini toy-hauler to travel the country with, taking along my little XT250 (That's how I found your channel BTW--Great build for your dad!). Your build for track camping surpasses a lot of what many of these van life people are using to live inside. Very well done. I'm down in Yorktown, so we're not too far apart. I'll never do MX, but maybe we'll meet on a trail sometime. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Rick! Yeah I deliver to Dodd RV in Yorktown all the time. Currently delivering a tow hauler to Utah. I love some trail riding as well. Have a ttr250 I use for the tight trails. Thanks for the compliments. Yeah I deliver the 150-300k rigs....I don't have that kind of wallet so I had to build my own and I think I like it better. Best wishes buddy
You must be getting high when you go to sleep with that tank of fuel inside 😂😂
Lol so far no issues....but I do sleep well at the track
great setup was thinking about doing the same thing
anyway you got the info on the wind deflector?
Yup just got home and looked it up it's called Aeroshield from icondirect.com. it's about 300 American currently. They're a good company..the first one they sent me had a minor defect and they sent me another at no charge and have had no problems for the last 7 years of use.
That's mint 🤟
Way too wide
The boxes are no wider than the handle bars and remove in seconds for tight single track.
Now you are a storm chaser!
Freaking awesome man! Definitely going to do something similar!
Just purchased one yesterday brand new. Going to ride it right around my country in 6 weeks time. I've got 6 weeks to try and break anything that will break so it's ready and reliable. Cheers from Australia
That looks like so much fun! I'm sorry your dang shoulder popped out!
Oh it's all part of the process....it's back in and working again 😁
Best value for the money. Just use a 16th front sprocket for long highway use. Mine has used zero oil.
Great build and video. Thanks for sharing. You got a sweet moto hauler. Good job!
Thanks buddy. See you at the track soon 👍
some kind of self flaggelation video where you are not allowed to use rope and stuff?
I'm planning on using a rope and skid system when the walls get too high but for now this was the quickest process to get them up there. Thanks for watching 👍
I'm sore and tired just watching you do that. Super impressed with how strong you are if that wasn't full strength. Can't wait to see what you come up with for how to get the logs up there as it gets taller.
You are too strong for your own good!
It's coming along! 😍
Think Egyptian slaves moving large blocks around
I suggest you put a log cutoff under the end you are not at. It will act as a set of wheels of sorts under the log you are attempting to move
I’ve been riding for 55 years or so, I have a BMW 1200GS and Husqvarna 701 now. Problem is I’m 73 and have lost 2” of my height, I’m 5’8” now. A smaller bike is appealing, I just have face the fact that handling a big bike has become more difficult. I just hate giving up the comfort of the BMW and the 74 horsepower of the Husqvarna.
The XT is slow but the Earth is patient 😁
I found my dream! Thanks for the video! I did with wood in the back of my Ram, but I want a box truck next!
Thanks....I made an updated video since I've added a sink, faucet and fridge
Just what I wanted and needed to hear! Thanks!
Love the review, have a brand new adventure model in the garage. Waiting for spring to break it in. Actually switched over from H-D . I need something I can get dirty and also super reliable
looking at all these KLR videos, I may trade in my Road King for one as well lol
How , where did you find accessories for your xt? I'm finding very little searching the net.
Rockymountainatvmc.com had a lot of the products I used.... check out the description of the video, I put the price and supplier of all modifications. Good luck!
You and your "sayings" 🤣
😁😁
Better have that done by the fall lol I need a place to stay 😂 my daughter is Mary Baldwin bound
Should have a roof by then lol
