Nice set up 😊
Hi Harvey, great responses to the tag. Catch you soon.
Correction of course Sabbath’s debut was released in 1970 not 1969.
This is a nice list of very important albums👍
I managed to pick up an original 1966 British Revolver LP in great shape. I consider myself very fortunate
Yeah, I thought that was a good noob list, and while I have had Closer for quite a while I think Unknown Pleasures is really the important one for anyone to have and I should pick up a copy. I did have one back in the day, purchased in 1981. The recommendation for My Bloody Valentine was interesting and I have heard them before, but I think that one is worth adding to my collection as well. Cheers.
I would agree with most of your list for the average person.
Cool Video👍👍👍
6:38 . . Kate Bush ❤
Go On is an amazing album! So many great songs. The Border, Healing Waters, Stand And Deliver, Power Over Me, Man Of A Thousand Dances are my faves!! 💖
Pretty sad they didn't include the "Bare My Soul" song in that vinyl....
Agreed that’s a very good CD and digital only song.
Just discovered your video, nice setup, I had a Rega RP40, wonderful turntables, cheers ✌️
Good to find your channel ! I like your taste, mixing it up with jazz, and other genres.. "Beatles IN Mono" I did spurge for.. absolutely wonderful ! ( Bought the Cd box on release for (125.00 US ). Cheers.. JT✌
Thanks. Only just found your channel in the last week too. Great stuff. I need to upload more, it’s just the time it takes as you know.
@@spinningtheblackcircle8554 Time is the deal, for sure.. Thanks for getting back to me.. will tune in again. 🙋♂️
Alright. Time for you to give us another few videos about this series. Lots of releases in the last year. Would love to hear your take on a number of these titles. Greetings from NYC
Thank you. Incoming. Just been busy with work

In 1989 our friend's descent from Minneapolis began with the BATMAN album.Mediocre songs and a weak production for the first time disappointed. It's very difficult to want to assess the comprehensive work if you have no idea at all.
Hello, and what about Diamond and pearls ? I waited 4 years to buy it at good price
thom pettie dat hoe
🤘🎸
Beatles For Sale is superior in stereo and is one of their best sounding records.
Partner she has both cds and vinyls
Phil Spector did Let it Be
I got there eventually just a pause of almost a minute before I remembered 😂
Like a lot of children of the 70's we had all these wonderful records from our parents which we never appreciated until long since sold..😩
Wow I had this album, I would love to hear this album again. Cannot find it anywhere
Thanks for showing the Psychotron bag, checked them out and bought cool vinyl.
Superb video. Lovely collection. Love that Stones poster. Thank you for sharing.
I think it is my favourite Classic series album. What a line up. McCoy's solo on Contemplation is his best I have ever heard. Elvin Jones and Ron Carter are superb. I love Joe Henderson on Four by Five. The whole record is amazing!! My copy, luckily, no issues with the pressing :)
Acoustic guitarists playing in the corner is a nice idea but it won't drown out the sound of boring blokes trying to out-bullshit one another about their latest rare purchases, what band they used to be in or which famous musician they know. I just tune 'em out because they seldom buy anything because they have it all.
Wonderful video Harvey! I just subscribed to your channel. I understand why you love that Ron Carter album so much. I saw that very group at the Montreal Jazz Festival in 2015 and they were amazing. I think it was the first time Rene Rosnes had played with Ron Carter and he was obviously impressed, because they made a record together. Pity it isn’t more widely available. Love your approach and what you have to say! Keep the videos coming!👍✌️
Thanks Bill. Wow bet that was some gig.
Pity about the shaky camera syndrome.
Hello Harvey, it’s Sunday afternoon and here I lounge in my Eames chair listening to The Crusaders - Southern Comfort, as recommended by your good self. I streamed it and then bought in on EBay and collected it today . My my this record would have totally disappeared under my RADAR and that’s a miserable thought, as I so love this record. Like you my appreciation of The Crusaders started and ended with Street Life, but as individual musicians in the band I have many of their records , but as the collective known as the Crusaders I have none, so how very rewarding to hear about this gem from your channel . Serendipity in life can bring big joys. Best David
Yeah it’s a deep catalogue David, talented musicians with a ton of creativity.
is your smashing pumpkins in a pvc outer sleeve? I saw a few videos saying those are bad because they leech chemicals.
Not sure but I house all of my records inside anti stat MoFI, Tonar or Nagaoka sleeves so not sure it could leak through all of that through to the record.
true music lover great room great eqipment. ur music i be thre for hours just love it cheers a new sub for u cheers
Thank you Gerard.
awesome stuff Harvey. 🎶☮️🎶
Looking excellent; viewing your collection and set up makes my heart race faster! Your large and enviable Prince collection prompts me to ask as to whether you have bought the recent Prince Box set live in Syracuse 1985, and as it’s a bit pricey…..would you recommend buying the Vinyl Harvey? I agree with your previous comments on Sign of the Times as being an unadulterated masterpiece , so should I throw caution to the wind and dive in to buy live in Syracuse? Best wishes , david
Hi David, I’m still considering whether to invest in the Syracuse box set. In terms of live albums I have a bit of a love hate relationship with them. There are some truly fantastic examples of live records but I still don’t own Controversy or For You on vinyl. So my internal dialogue is kind of “why would I buy an augmented live collection when there are still key Prince releases I don’t own?” That’s just how my mind works as a collector. I tell you what is on my list the Record Store Day June 18th Gold Experience vinyl. Not a great Prince album but a very good mid to late period work. In my opinion.
@@spinningtheblackcircle8554 oh right, good tip, I am with you on The Bill Withers live at Carnegie Hall, a worthy 5 star record, I play it often, with outstanding vocals and tracks .. I can’t write left handed …would bring a tear to a glass eye, soul in concert at its most sublime. Cheers.
Hi Harvey, I have in the last two days discovered you and your brilliant channel. I have for some years now been exploring the VC community and dipping into various Channels ( particularly jazz and soul and funk) but on the whole I have been sorely disappointed by the comments made by the hosts; the showing of the record followed by the stale “ this album is really great and the reading of the line up of the musicians and blah blah etc etc etc) with no real insight into either why it’s great and it’s position in the gamut of that particular genre of music; so it was with refreshing enthusiasm I discovered your channel. I have watched your discourse on your 70’s soul/ funk favourites ( which I have most of but thats irrelevant and Jazz vinyl tag many of which I was not aware of, but I wish now to hear if not track down and buy. It’s so fascinating and heartwarming to hear you break down the reasons why you love a particular record and why you would recommend it and it’s position in the pantheon.Iam writing from London and I have now subscribed and look forward to catching on your previous posts, but I just wanted to write and give you a metaphoric pat on the back for being a truly informative beacon of light in the VC community. Bravo !
I really appreciate those kind words David. I do my best to articulate in a way that might be helpful or interesting to other music fans and am humbled and honoured that you’re enjoying the channel. I have some ideas brewing and I hope you continue to enjoy my posts as the channel develops. Take care.
Nice room . Lot s of details. Thanks for giving us tour. mr. Finglish (Bäd English Recs)
Cool tshirt and cool collection! 👍 thumbs up! Trish
Great tour! I love seeing people's music worlds!!
Great room and superb collection of good vinyl. Thanks for showing your cave.
I wonder how many units Ikea has sold of those cabinets. They are perfect. Enjoyed the room tour especially the books and decorations. Great room
Thanks Steven.
I actually dont care what the quality of my newly purchased, used vinyl is just as long as i can enjoy what is blasting out of the speakers, attached to my cheopo cd/record deck set up. I know purists will poo poo this statement but a lot of the vinyl i do buy are old Jazz and Big Band recordings and have been lying around for decades, unloved and forgotten but for me thats the joy, finding a workable copy of something that has never been repressed , transferred to cd, remastered, whatever. To many people junk, to me a diamond in the rough. Enjoy your music people whatever condition its in, now wheres that WWII V-disc!?!
Correction: Jimmy Owens played trumpet and Kenny Barron piano on that Quintet album.
Those memories from the albums that could have been bought sticks really well on mind. mr. Finglish (Bäd English Recs)
HOL was a fully digital recording..I like my reissue only because the vinyl is extremely quiet especially on the 9th wave
Do you know Hedley? Another Fat Bearded Man Talking About Records. He's your man for country music on the VC. Nice finds. Personally I think too much effort is put into finding first issues. First year of issue is just as good IMO. Cheers
Hi John, yeah I’m subscribed to his channel. I agree regarding first or original pressings. Nice to have but rarely essential. Thanks for your comments.
Good picks, Harvey - look out for other Fly "two-fers" on Fly label, especially the first two Joe Cocker LPs - brilliant.
Cool finds. I just discovered your channel.
Thanks for your comment.
Great to see you back... jazz! Have been spinning the Ezra Collective this weekend, "can't steal our joy" ... it's hopping with jazz energy. Becoming hard to find on vinyl now too. 👍 Have the Nubiya lp too but must revisit it
I can’t believe I failed to mention Ezra Collective. It’s superb and I only spun it on wax two weeks a ago. Thanks for the comments.
Great video and welcome back! Just re-discovered your channel even though I was subscribed. Jazz is a relatively new discovery for me, I also enjoy English jazz. Ian Carr and Don Rendell is more my bag, you might want to look out for Dusk Fire or Shades of Blue albums.
Thanks Andy I’ve got the Ian Carr Belladonna reissue! I’ll check out the others cheers for that.
