Highlighting trails from Sierra Nevada Mountains and Arizona.
A secret off road trail in Arizona
I have always driven past this dirt road when I get off the freeway. I finally decided to check it out to see what it was all about.

Appreciate the effort man, the website pics make it look like the lever will contact the winch, thanks you!
@@ThePLWarrior I have no issues with both operation or the winch lever. I contacted Badlands and they said, “you can do it, however it voids your warranty.” I didn’t really have a choice so I opened it up and rotated it. It was fairly easy but it was like exploratory surgery, learning as I go.
OK...the window sticker made me laugh so hard I blew my coffee out my nose! Good one. Hey bro...good to see you.

No mate! Still here!
Like, how do you get the aerial photography? Is there a drone that you have following your car? Also, what is that red box on your roof… Who is doing the camera work from the right side of the car? Music. Who is that singing?
@@barbaraweiner8826 so many questions!!! I have a drone that uses autopilot to track the vehicle. I use an iPhone 14 with stability control in the vehicle. The red box is actually orange traction boards for recovery if I get stuck. The singer is Dustin Kensrue, a friend of mine from High School.
@@wayfaringoverlander lol Mark, is that the kid that did the goose-step around the football field after he received his diploma! I never laughed so hard in my life! Great work, Mark

Thanks buddy

Hahaha
Oh dear. Stick a carpet mat in it 🤭
The undercarriage was caught in the track. I had to use a jack to clear the track then a recovery strap to get yanked out.

Is that Greta singing?! 😂
Haha yes it is!

S’mores! Yummy. Try baked spuds with butter and cheddar cheese next time mate. Lots of salt. 😀
This is awesome! Creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Yeah man that’s what it’s all about!
Gotta love California 👌🏽
It is a beautiful state but sadly I have been priced out of living there and the politics will rob my children’s future. By the time my kids are old enough to buy a house there will no longer be a middle class in California.
Did yours come with synthetic line or did you replace it ? If you replaced it which rope did you use ?
Thank you for your question, I believe it was cheaper for me to buy the steel cable winch and then swap it out with synthetic rope so I bought a steel cable winch 9500 pounds and I replaced it with an 80 foot synthetic rope also made by badlands that you can pick up at Harbor freight.
Here’s another video I made that talks more about my winch and the process to swap the cable with the rope. ruclips.net/video/QSksX_AAXeI/видео.htmlsi=RwlOnml1xpXQX-rO

Where are you from?!
@@wayfaringoverlander South Dakota. But there are a lot of Forest trails up here.
@@iNotHuman3-gtr500 kinda hard for us to meet up 😆 Black Hills are beautiful. Love your state, Sir 🫡
This is a completely true video.
Yes friends make it better!
What is the furthest trip you have ever taken
Off highway? Probably 30 miles in to the bush. I know people in Australia will drive over 100 miles off road just to get to a destination. When I lived in Northern California I could hit the dirt in 1 mile and head up the mountains.
I love fjs. I have one!!!!!❤🎉❤🎉
Cool! My channel is all about exploring trails in my FJ, mostly in the Eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains and now in Arizona.

Idaho is a pathetic dump.
I’m sure we can all find things we like and dislike about every state.
I Always Wanted a FjCruiser. It’s too bad Toyota doesn’t bring it back, but then again the Greedy dealerships would put a $15K markup. Anyone who would pay for the additional Dealer Markup is when a Fool parts with their money. The dealerships are making money on the MSRP, plus they get a 4% kickback for each new vehicle sold from the manufacturer. So if the dealership has ANY markup over the MSRP, then their “Valued Customer” is literally giving that dealership Owner all of that profit. Would you go to a dentist to have your tooth pulled and it normally costs $300 but the dentist tells you that it’s actually going to cost you an additional $200 ? A few years ago I bought my wife a new Outback for her 50th birthday. Every Subaru dealership around our area had an additional $2K markup, so I started calling around to different dealerships around Washington state, Idaho, Montana and Oregon. I found a Subaru dealership in Tacoma, Washington that Doesn’t have a dealer markup. Yes Tacoma is a 6 hour round trip. I told the dealer exactly what I was looking for, including the exterior color and the interior color, (cinnamon brown pearl with Ivory interior). They happened to have one in stock. I asked how much it was going to cost including tax, license and doc fees. They told me how much it was going to cost, so I told them that I would be there the next day to buy it. The dealership asked me for a $250 deposit to hold the car until the next day. Early the next morning I went to the bank and got a Cashiers check for the cost of the car, minus the $250 that they charged my credit card to hold the car. My wife had no idea what I was doing. I told her that I needed to go to Tacoma and wanted her company. When we pulled into the Subaru dealership she asked me what we were doing there. I made up a lame excuse. It was raining (of course). She had to use the bathroom, as did I. We met on the showroom floor. I was standing next to her car. She met me at the car and mentioned how much she Loved that car. I reached into my pocket and pulled out the keys, handed it to her and said HAPPY BIRTHDAY ! She was absolutely surprised. We went into the “finance” department and signed the paperwork. We know that her Subaru won’t last as long as a Toyota, but for the superior traction and safety, it’s ok if we have to replace them more often than we would with a Toyota.
What a great story! Thanks for sharing. I have owned multiple Toyota’s and had a Subaru at one time. I absolutely loved it, it’s basically an AWD Toyota. It’s Japanese, reliable, has a FAA rated engine, high crash test rating and you simply cannot say anything bad about that car. I’ve always said I want to buy my daughters a Subaru for the crash test rating and the AWD protection in the rain/snow. Again, thanks for sharing. In the topic of Toyota, it’s also a shame they don’t introduce the 70 series Land Cruiser here in the USA.
It took me a second, I knew something was different, you took the plastic guards off, looks good. I'd like to do that to mine, but it's illegal here. Mine is the same colour too.
Where is it illegal? I took the original ones office want to put aftermarket ones in, haven’t gotten around to it.
@@wayfaringoverlander In Australia you can't have tyres poking out the sides, so if you remove them the standard tyres aren't covered, but I have wider tyres that just fit under the standard guards.
@@DAVOPARKES in California either the guard or mud flap has to cover the width. Nobody really makes a stink about it here in Arizona either.
@@DAVOPARKES I’m also on Instagram if you want to dm @wayfaring_overlander cheers 🍻

Is that my Christmas present?
No I bought it as a kickstarter
Great video, I'm doing it currently on my 2014 FJ. I noticed you zip tied the plastic lower piece of the front fender well to the body strut. Did that hold long term or did you find another work around? Many thanks, Matthias
Great question. Since I made this video I have befriended folks from here on Instagram. We all discussed zip ties as the option. A gentleman from Australia and others from around the states all concluded that zip tying the plastics was the only real option. I want to reach out to ARB USA and see what they have to say. Glad you liked the video. Thanks for commenting. Feel free to reach out on Instagram : wayfaring_overlander (Mark)
Thanks so much. I ended up using zip ties too. I got the side wings and found that that piece tucked nicely in there. @@wayfaringoverlander
