The Mauser an 1896 action I think, the bolt is easily removed, as is the Lee Enfield. A visual inspection is sufficient. Not all of us carry a cleaning rod around with us.

MY INSTRUCTOR TOLD ME TO PUT MY FINGER INSIDE THE FEEDING PATH AND LOOK THROUGH THE BERREL. i did not do it and it was the only "mistake" i made during the test because i did not feel comfortable putting my eye where the bullet is supposed to come out of
In NZ the number one rule is muzzle awareness and always remove the bolt completely. I do not agree with removing a magazine first. If for some reason a round was in the chamber , removing the magazine is just delaying the danger time of a fully loaded rifle!. Just get that bolt out first.
Don't really like the gang flag behind you. Aren't police suppose to be apart of the community instead of separating themselves from the community?

2 year late to find this site. But you are teaching to insert a live round into a rifle chamber indoors, an not at a range pointed in a safe manner. Reming ,700' s are no different than any other rifle it's not the rifle that kills or injures it that bullet.

Complete beginner question, Why is the term Administrativey used? how does that differ from other methods of unloading a shotgun? thanks
That is a term we use in the police. It just refers to unloading after use, like at the end of a shift, when the shotgun has been loaded but not necessarily used. I used it here as a matter of habit and probably should have just said "Unload". Its funny how you get into the habit of saying things and don't realize how it sounds to others.
Just curious is there a safety on any of these guns? If so after loading shouldn’t it be engaged each and every time ?
Yes they all do and yes, if the safety can be on when going through the PROVE it should on. In the class we talk about this. We teach the students about the different safeties they may find, how to use them and we tell them that they need to read their manuals to find out how their specific safeties work because they will likely be different than the safeties on the guns in the class. We tell them to always use the safeties, but never rely on them. These videos are meant to supplement what they will learn in the class, not to replace it.
