This song was part written by "Brook Benton" one of my all time favourite ""Soul and "rhythm and blues" singers .I listened to all his albums when I was a youngster and I was still buying his albums through the seventies. I used to do this one in my cabaret set. But I'm back doing my "WYN STONE" "MEMORY LANE SHOW" 50s 60s 70s music. I hope you enjoy my take on this great song.. Thanks WYN..

Littleton Colliery was the last deep coal mine on Cannock Chase Staffordshire when it was closed on 10/12/93. Donna I'm so very sorry to hear such sad news .. Me Archie and Rob talk about Paddy all the time and we still laugh and cry about the fantastic times we had. Me and Paddy use to laugh every minute we were together and it never changed even when we all got back together after all those years we never saw each other. We just carried on like silly school kids.. I will tell Archie and Rob about the sad news.. .. I still miss Paddy very much .. Hope you are keeping well xx 🙏🙏

Very moving made me shed a tear. Both my Grandads were Miners and my Dad also worked in the coal industry. They're all gone now but this is a reminder of everything they and all Miners past and present went through daily in their working life ❤

Hello Keith I'm trying to remember where 317's was situated mate... when I first started at Littleton I worked on salvaging 3;s Robins then 6's Robins and then supplies on 5's and 2's Robins did my face training 11's and 10's Robins and my steep face training on 1002' Great people and the salt of the earth mate - Hope you're keeping well mukka

I totally agree with you - The British government have taken over 8 Billion pounds from the British coalminers pension fund and a court of law has told them that it was grossly out of order and unfair and that they should return it to existing members but they have said that they will not return it.. They should all be brought to justice and jailed for gross theft but they will go unpunished just like all the other untouchable higher echelons of this corrupt world.. God Bless your Father, Grandfather, and their Predecessors my friend and a Happy New Year to you and good health for many years to come... Wyn

Thanks Mike - When we did it at the Manchester Studio all the engineers were in tears and they knew nothing about coal mining but when I showed them the photo's from Littleton Colliery they wanted to know the stories behind the photo's..Once again mate many thanks - Wyn

Hello Daniel - Thank you for your nice comments and I will certainly sort out the photo for you !! We all loved Paddy and he will always live on in our hearts. We had some fantastic times way back then and right up to Paddy's passing - Archie is having problems with his hand at the moment so we have put the next album on hold until he can start playing again/ But I will let you know as soon as we start doing the next one and you are more than welcome to do the artwork for ti mate..I will have a look for the original photo sometime this week and get it to you - Take care mate and and give our love to all the family - - - - Wyn Archie and Rob !!!

Hello John thanks for the nice comments- By the way I was there with Brian Fieldhouse and his mom when the Burns was first purchased in Birmingham .I was only fifteen years old and it was a special guitar because it was one of the original Burns Marvin guitars that were used to promote that model....It was in a very poor state when Alan bought it....But thankfully he had it restored to it's original condition...
