    You do know that these sockets are meant to help get put striped hardware? Up to 50% they are not meant for daily use. They have a purpose.

    I like the reversable ratcheting ones. The flex heads just feel cheap. All of it is bought in. The reversable ones are the same as the facom and made by Hi-Five in Taiwan. Really good stuff - the best ratcheting wrench design on the market.

    Wow that’s insane. I would buy a husky set . Blue point is low end and way over priced. That is a great set but way overpriced for entry level tech. Thanks for sharing your experience and opinion. I have not had any issues swapping broken tools at lowes and the depot.

    • @autocorv27
      @autocorv27 2 года назад

      Yes for me when I started I got a husky set but when I started doing a few jobs for my self I started making money and well I Decided to start buying snap on and Mac and matco which honestly if I would’ve stuck to husky and craftsman i would have wayyy more tool lol 😂😂

    Sizes you will never use,20mm,23mm,25mm,28mm. 29mm. Unless you work on big Cummings or a C7. CAT .

    • @autocorv27
      @autocorv27 2 года назад

      Actually I was very surprised on some of my dads equipment are use the 20 a lot and on some old Diesel trucks almost all of them use the 23 mm and the 28 so for me the kit came in handy

    • @jeffharper410
      @jeffharper410 2 года назад

      @@autocorv27 Yep, so I edited a caviot, but most car mechanics will only find a GM fuel filter in 20mm and you should use a flare nut wrench, or a 20mm Banjo bolt used in fuel systems rarely but they do exist, 23 mm on pre WW2 Mercedes. So unless you are working on Hitlers staff car ? You shouldn't need it.

    • @autocorv27
      @autocorv27 2 года назад

      @@jeffharper410 yes I got the I like the deal because of the bigger sizes because of road side assistance as well meaning that I really just wanted to be prepared for any nut size and I also do work on some automotive on the side whatever comes up honestly but right now I just finished working on my Corvair engine which now it’s already mounted now I just got to get the wiring done

    I bought a set of semi-deep FDX sockets solely because I had an empty row (for mids) on my triple row socket organizer. I already had semi-deep impact sockets (on a different organizer) but I was curious about the FDX, so I bought them to fill in the empty row. My opinion is the same as some here: they fit too tight for daily use (slows a flat rate tech down) but they’re pretty good on partially rounded bolts. I like to use them when I’m angle torquing a fastener because of the tight grip they have.

    • @autocorv27
      @autocorv27 2 года назад

      Yes sir I like to use them when I know I’m not trying to strip a bolt in an awkward position where like a blue point socket would be a bit loose so that’s when I bust out the FDX

    • @sasquatchrosefarts
      @sasquatchrosefarts 2 месяца назад

      @@autocorv27you don't switch to a longer ratchet on a stuck fastener......you grab a torch and heat it to make it looser..... Same is true on brakes. You get it too hot to touch, and let it cool and it should be fine.

    Old school mechanic here, FDX socket by Snap-on. First off Snap-on is overrated, a true mechanic doesn't need flashy tools to get the job done, true mechanic can get the job just about any tool he can work with. Plus $312.00 just for one set of Snap-on sockets is ridiculous. Your better off with Icon. Icon and Snap-on look identical, plus the Icon is a better deal an performs as good or in my experience better then the Snap-on, plus if a Icon tool breaks you can go into a harbor freight, and they will exchange it out for ya with no hassle.

    • @autocorv27
      @autocorv27 2 года назад

      Hello @mikey358976 yes don’t get me wrong I understand you completely, like you said there is icon and there is snap on we both can pic what ever we want the tools are just tools no matter the brand is but in my case I got snap on is because I like that brand they sell you the brand it’s like nike and Adidas and there are so many options and I made this video because I purchased the set and at the time when I started buy all my tools I didn’t have any bills, Morgage,car payment nothing and for me when I but something I buy everything as cheap as I can I buy my tool on offer up and sometimes on the truck I also go to harbor freight I go there a lot too 😂 one of my favorite place to go 😂 and thanks for the comment

    One thing I love right off the bat is that it's going to be quality and life time warranty, not the crappy no name Chinese stuff that's on Amazon that has no warranties, yes I know these are made in China but Taiwan and still still 100x better and it seems fir $100 bucks for just the name and warranty itself it's worth it. Also these do lipo batteries now vs. The ones they claim it but probably don't. I don't trust no name brand stuff anymore when it comes to something that can take a turn for the worse.

    • @lazurm
      @lazurm 2 года назад

      Hunt7r: I'm a former Snap-On dealer (37 years with S-O as a dealer and in management) and own the EEBM500A and, from its instruction manual, it clearly states (page 9), "This product is warranted to be free from defects in material or workmanship for a period of one year from the date of original end user purchase." And, by the way, though this unit is labelled "Snap-On" it's actually made in China, also stated on page 9. You should also know that there are VERY few Snap-On electrical tools with a lifetime warranty as most are from 1 to 3 years. One last point, China is perfectly capable of making first rate items. They sell in tiers and, depending on many variables (mostly having to do with the buyer market), there's an abundance of low quality items and a smaller amount of first rate items. Knowing how to differentiate is the trick.
