1st Gen Sequoia Lunchbox Locker Install - Blew Up The Diff
Hey bro, this might be a dumb question but did you have the center diff lock and did you pull it out or can you have both.
You can have both. You probably just have to relocate a button.
I bought the dash kit but it still didn’t sit flush. I used some 6mm or 8mm (can’t remember) nylon bushings underneath the mounting screws. Brought the whole stereo just a bit more forward and made it sit flush.
This is why ATRAC matters and making sure no check engine lights are on compromising that from working correctly. Makes the difference in being stranded off road and being able to get home
On pavement?
How much does it cost?
1000$
@@xxpocketknifexx7084 that's good. Thanks for the reply
I am almost certain you missed installing the thrust washer from the old side gears onto the new side gears.
I would guess a step got missed in the instructions...
What if it don’t disengage? Red light still blinking, how can you fix that?
Reverse. It should pop out
Hey man, not seeing this on the Brute Force website… did you reach out directly to them?
I believe the website is no longer kept up to date. Just call him directly
the ring gear or pinion gear got shredded, the locker took more abuse than the rest
did you use any special tool to pull the old bearings off the old carrier? or just heat it??
Just heat
xXPocketknifeXx, Hello, I don't know if you turn off your comment section purposely but it's been turn off since this episode. Anyway, congrats with your new ride, 4th GEN 4Runner. I have a 4th Gen SR5 selectable 4x4 also but its a V6. It seems that you know about Toyotas. I'm sure you know this already. I like to mention 2003-2009 V8 4Runner are equipped with timing belt. I don't know the mileage of your new ride but If the previous owner hasn't replace the timing belt yet , I would like to recommend installing a timing belt kit (water pump included) to prevent future damage to your interference engine. Also I'm a subs and I watch all your vlogs since I subs and I notice that safety sometimes is not your priority. Please, you should make a habit of grabbing and use the jack stands as soon as you raise the veh regarding if you work under or not. Watching you going underneath the veh without a jack stands make a retired automotive technician for 42 years uncomfortable. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward for update of your new ride.
You mean 1gr fe?
Nice and easy😂
Hey i got a 99 obs tahoe like u . When i crank it it's make like a grind sound when it idling. Can u help
What side steps are those?
Custom fabbed
What wheels are those and tire size?
They are 31s. Steel wheels I believe
What type of shocks are those?
Kyb
Yeah? So what? I'm pretty sure most of the world is fully aware of the legendary Toyota 4x4 truck!
WTF is this crap? A bunch of Asian guys in suits? LOL
了解,謝謝分享!
Found some good billsteins myself but when I came back a week later they were already gone🫤 luckily I found many other cars with the same shocks
I mean to be 100% fair most overlanders only take dirt paved roads. Actual wheeling with an overland vehicle is a terrible idea due to the added weight. Off road the excursions great its weight helps it alot on climbs. Now are you doing any hardcore wheeling? Absolutly not. Its as long as a night in jail and weighs 10k pounds 🤣🤣
😂
xXPocketknifeXx, Greetings, Just wondering where about you guys camp or mountain range in the last episode. Looks like an awesome place to camp. Stay safe. Thanks for sharing. Keep the vlog coming
Camped Stanislaus national forest longhorn. And tahoe forest at Ice house
@@xxpocketknifexx7084 Thx. I'm very far from me cause I live in Vegas . Maybe I get there someday. Just wondering if there is a fee where you guys camp.
What's going on with the VSC Trac and ABS lights? Have you scanned for codes? Checked your abs sensors? Vacuum leak in the evap system? Fuel cap?
It showed a sensor code and master cylinder code. The systems on these cars are tricky but probably best to replace with new
Wait…is this “5 mods for your 4 Runner” or “buy this brand of Walkie Talkie”?
Great wheels to slap on the Sequoia. I was thinking the same model
That sound is dreamy😵💫
Black wheels. Original
No, you shouldn’t be working on cars if you don’t even have a proper jack, they call those things widow makers for a reason. It is for changing a tire in emergencies not maintenance. You wouldn’t catch me dead underneath a car held up by a brand new snap-on jack without jack stands, let alone one of those death traps.
We did not end up using the scissor jack. We drove it on some wood then used a hydraulic jack
What are your plans for the watermelon?
Just doing maintenance on it. Not my car
@@xxpocketknifexx7084 no, the watermelon! 🍉
Instructions unclear lowered both my datsuns
Must be difficult to jack up
Sad
Did this same thing with a Nissan murano rims and grill everyone loved it even asked how much I paid for the rims ? Whole job cost under 10$
Junk 👎🖕
It’s a cream? Tf lol. 5l v8 not even 500 hp.
Infrared
It's about time Dodge how cool
Who cares
SUV? Dude thats a truck. Specifically a south American market truck by ram
Mexican car
Next time you do a front wheel drive CVs, it is easier to remove the drive axle if you disconnect the lower control arm ball joint and remove the struts and steering knuckle together if you are replacing the struts. If you are not replacing the struts just disconnect the lower ball joints and loosen the top struts mounting nuts, loosen it enough that you can move the steering knuckle outward to clear drive axle end spline and set it aside with bunching cord or something similar. The drive axle should be easily accessible then. Also if you are using a form a gasket sealant where the part is subject to any petroleum product, use Permatex Ultra Black Maximum Oil Resistance RTV Silicone Gasket Maker. Make sure you degrease the parts before assembly. This thing works. I retired as a fleet mechanic/welder and we used it numerous times on engines and drivetrains.
+1.. Top Shelf. .. The owner knows what he's doing. ..
Did this help with the "steer wandering" at hwy speed?
I have not taken it on highway yet.
You ought to get a steel material that is the same thickness as the panhard mounting bracket and try to weld it with your welder with different settings before you weld the actual project. I could be wrong but I think the setting is too cold. It showed that there isn't enough penetration. A good weld should appear smooth, without slag or porosity causing unwanted texture regardless if you are welding with fluxed core wire or gas shielded solid wire. Try setting your machine to weld thicker material which make the machine weld hotter and check how it weld. JMO
My new welder is better. I was not sure if it was me or my machine but with my new one it is better
can you atleast attempt to speak like a man. you sound like a nerd
Is this v6 or v4?
It is a V6 TwinTurbo
Hello, New Viewer here. @25:18 latch installation. As you know, you'll be carrying the spare tire and it is heavy. How the latch is mounted is not holding the swing arm from opening. It should be somehow designed and mounted horizontally to hold the swing arm from swinging out. As it is, the vibration will make the swing arm move back and forth. Also, I think, if you design your swing arm lock @15:38 when you do your remod and shape it like a C and drill 3 position holes, it work better for you. Position the middle hole to lock the swing arm just to clear the hatch when opening it. This way you don't have to open the swing arm all the way when you need something inside the back of the truck. JMO.
Yeah. I’m just a newbie at fabrication. I’m planning on redesigning it.
@@xxpocketknifexx7084 I also like to mention that if you are going to be mig welding with gas instead of fluxed cored wire, you can save money by using 100% CO2. Mix gas, not only more expensive to refill but also uses more gas when you weld. I use 20 lbs bottle with 100% CO2 on my old 135 Miller MIG and it last me a long time. Probably it last more than 3x than a mix gas with the same capacity bottle.
Alright thanks for the tip I’ll look into it
I love the way the car sounds
Me too. Mods are Catless down pipe Cold air intake, exhaust, injectors
