When you say bobtail do you mean a day cab? Bobtail refers to driving a tractor without a trailer, can be a sleeper or a day cab. So like if I drive a tractor somewhere without a trailer id say “im bobtailing there” not trying to throw any shade man just letting you know.

I switched to food service just because the pay is higher and I work less days. Like you said though you will work hard as hell, I been doing it for 2 years but Im always looking. 😂

had my cdl since march 13th my birthday and i still can’t find work , it’s hard because i’m only 20 so i can’t go out of state until i’m 21 , gotta only stay PA & i have no experience

This may be lil long but thanks for going over what I said and being real about it. I dont care what the "super truckers" could possibly say, I did get my Class A CDL for mostly me but I still live with my family and they depend on me being there to help them. I applied to about 10 so far and only heard back from 3 of em. One couldn't hire me cause the price of freight rn is too much for them at the moment. The others was either the insurance was too much for me or they hadn't got back to me. I'm remaining patient as much as I can, I hope I can land a local starter really soon to build my experience.

I been following your journey for a minute man reason why I found your channel is because I believe trucking is a career path I want to go for, I respect your honesty. A lot of people think they can come into trucking with no experience and think they are going to make 150k plus their first year or more with no work put into it then they make RUclips videos about how trucking is terrible and how flipping burgers is a better option lmao nothing good comes for free or with no effort gotta put in time and do work. Been a few days since I gotten my class A cdl and it's been lil hard to find a local job. I will do any type of job as long as it's isn't otr or regional, I can't leave my family for more than 2 days.

OTR pays way better than local but no work/life balances. Local usually pay the least in trucking.

PepsiCo is an excellent company. I have years of experience in retail and I did work for PepsiCo briefly as a merchandise manager. The only reason why I left is because I was salaried and I was working 80 hours seven days a week too much. But the delivery driver is an excellent role. It pays very well and you get loads of overtime. They are very new driver, friendly. Out of all of the soda companies PepsiCo is by far the best. I am not a fan of Coke or the others because I’ve worked with a lot of the leadership team over the years from Coke and they leave a lot to be desired. Plus the delivery drivers at Coke get paid a flat daily rate regardless of how many hours they work that is not worth it.

These companies nowadays just concerned about smashing the interview instead of actually getting the job done. It’s sad bro at the end of the day it’s about how you work regardless of experience. There’s lots of people getting jobs simply because of a great interview but at the same time there are people who might not do that well on the interview who are better at the job than people they decide to hire. And people wonder why the turnover rate is so high.

They paid $23 a few years ago. I wonder what they pay now! You might bring home about $1200/ week. Work like a dog though! My best friend worked for them a while after he and I left Western Express!
