If you react to every stimuli advertising is setting off inside of yourself, you will call it emotional manipulation when in fact you never learned to navigate your emotions that get triggerd all day to analyze and think about it. That is not Marketings fault, it´s your own. The Old people called it "growin up".

Marketing is not about adverts and logos- its complete knowledge of the product, when where how and to whom and for how much you are going to sell it for paractical and emotional reasons. A bag of M5 nuts in a plain plastic bag has involved a huge number of marketing decisions.

What I have found with these HB interviews is that; I had a certain opinion on a lot of these people before hand (based on vids and shorts). But watching them naturally speak without shorts edits and them just speaking hard truths from these questions, I actually really see them as different people in a positive way. Always great interviews and people you have on. Keep doing what your doing HB. I hope to see you in the short future, you will see my face at the staircase! (Working on it)

I’m looking for the words to make a comment, but none of them are even remotely nice. It’s like a comedy CEO interview micky take/sketch, but it feels awkward as james is actually serious. Interviewers did well to lead him into topics on which he consistently embarrassed himself, and did an even better job to keep a straight face doing so. It’s just a shame his market is recruitment - a perfect example of what’s wrong with the industry. Even more worrying that people pay for his guidance.

Yeah, but we have become wise to marketing's tricks to trap us. I am not that convinced that it works. When I consume a product or service, and it is crap or overpriced, then I stop. Marketing can fool us once, but not over and over.

Anyone remember Readers Digest? They used to send you books through the post expecting you to either pay for them or you have to waste your time getting the books back to them. They were actually beautiful books but what they did was totally off putting and wrong. I’m sure they lost plenty of customers this way.

As a commercial analyst who worked in the games industry - it is EXTREMELY dangerous to try and make a computer game near a marketer. They will ruin it. Marketers go to gyms and parties and have cleanses. Can you imagine a group of people less equipped to get into the mind of a gamer?

So... Manipulating person's instincts by abusing their weaknesses for your own gain, because the victim does not share the worldview that there is no objective perception of value whatsoever... Is it still evil or not anymore?
