RELAPSE is really good, actually.

Eminem's 2009 album 'Relapse' has always had a mixed perception by fans, but today I'll be trying to convince that not only is the only good, it's great. Kendrick vs Drake: what did we gain from this?
I honestly would prefer it or I really think Blood Meridian would do better as a mini-series on Amazon. Amazon has shown with series like The Boys that they aren't afraid of violence and dark scenarios. Granted though a lot of the darker scenes changed from The Boys comics like Black Noir not raping Huey or Billy Butcher not being as bad as some of the Supers are or even Black Noir being a Homelander clone doing horrible things to get the real Homelander to go to far so he can kill him. But I do have faith in it, performing better as a mini-series than as a movie.
I’ll never understand why Beautiful gets so much praise though. The subject matter is amazing but the writing itself is super lazy.
The chapter 5 scene of Kid and Scoul getting to that village reminded me of El Topo. Jodorowsky could do this
Kauffman would be a better director than Scott
The style of Oliver Stone's 'Natural Born Killers' could work.
Woody Harrelson as the Judge. EZ.

Without Relapse, we don't get Music to be Murdered by.
Lol my old high school English teacher would have a stroke over the run on sentences and lack of commas and quotations. The dude was a tight ass about English and writing but was good teacher.
It's not my favorite em album but it is so good for sure. If it has mostly more personal songs like Deja Vu, Beautiful, careful what you wish for, and my darling, with some horrorcore sprinkled in I think it would definitely be cemented in eminems top 3 albums
Great insights.
0:38 Meant movie not book
Lots of darkest movies were filmed. Maybe unfilmable on AAF budget with Hollywood stars. But western doesnt need a huge budget anyway.
I listened to it last year for the first time as an adult and yeah it’s incredible
I love the rap scheme and his flow is beyond sick i just wish the content wasn't so horrendous. He's my favorite rapper and some of the songs are classic on here but i just can't fuck with some of the topics he digs into on relapse
Sad
Great video! I loved learning him in school, I guess he could never be limited by reality, it's also almost impossible to know what he was trully thinking, he says "The poet is a fake/ who fakes so completly/ That he even fakes that it's pain/ the pain he trully feels" (sorry I'm translating by myself which isn't great for poetry). It's encapsulated in the fact he said Alberto Caeiro, one of his creations and the one he called his master, came to him in a gust of inspiration and he couldn't stop writing, after his death it was found Caeiro's poems weren't espontaneous by there were multiple tries. If you like Pessoa i would suggest reading "The Year of the Death of Ricardo Reis" from José Saramago, another great Portuguese writer. He writes of Ricardo Reis returning to Lisbon from Brazil following the death of Pessoa so he could visit the grave of his old friend, all this set up in the 30's with the constant alarming news of the victories of fascism in Europe and consolidating power in Portugal.
This video NEEDED to happen Relapse is so fucking good. In terms of flow and delivery, nothing tops Relapse. Such a smooth flow. Also if the accents weren’t there, I don’t think the album would have been as good. It adds to it. And his hooks were also catchy af. 1. MMLP 2. SSLP 3. TES 4. *RELAPSE* 5. Hell The Sequel
my favourite song on this album has to be elevator or beautiful
I hope people also understand the creativity and genuinity of revival
For me, Relapse is his third best album behind MMLP and TES. It’s a classic, you can tell he put his heart and soul into it and I think he was very hurt (more so than usual) by the response to it.
I always liked relapse, I never understood why people didn't like it.
whats a beer? thats the devil in my ear i been sober a fucking year, same voice you hear on my darling. now you know who was talking in ems ear.
I'd love another album like Relapse. Less horror-core but the wackiness and comedy. Basically the exact opposite of Recovery which was a complete waste of time
BOLD and UNCOMPROMISING! Well said
i mustve listened to relapse at lease a thousand times
I delved SUPER deep into Em's discography including rare uncensored leaks, freestyles and singles (shout out to the Outsidaz) and Relapse remains one of the best projects. The production is terrific and Em's drug induced lyricism and IDGAF attitude is entertaining AF. He carried out his vision, rather than homogenizing for mass appeal. Very grateful for the 2025 leaks
yo why has no one considered making an animated (NOT FOR KIDS obvsly) adaptation of Blood Meridian?
I remeber at the time I really liked Crack a Bottle, We Made You and Drop The Bomb on Em. I slept on the rest, but they really grew on me overtime
If only Marlon Brando was still alive...
Based
In the past year or 2 ive seen this album see thw respect it deserves
Relapse is my favorite Eminem album
Just 2 many accents
If no one else will. I guess I’ll have to do it myself.
I agree, I was recently listening to it, I have to say it has some of the best beats and production of any Eminem album
If there is a a film adaptation for blood meridian. I want Robert Eggers to direct it
Idk why it got such hate.. I really liked this album an all came with it or around that time.. was /is fuggin dope maybe cuz I relate so much of a painkiller/Xanax etc.. problem/addiction maybe cuz it's just amazing.. I am greatfool for it.. thankx slimshady

Music box a bonus song is alone better than 99% artist's whole discography
The nonstop violence will make it hard. The odd writing style doesn’t bring much trouble in far as writing it as a screenplay.
A Blood Meridian film would not hold up today. Not because it would be bad, but because it is slow, deliberate, and deep. People just don’t like movies that make you think. That’s why a lot of people now hate older movies like Citizen Kane or 12 angry men. They aren’t action packed, explosive, or quick paced, which is what people expect from a movie today. I would LOVE a Blood Meridian movie, I just think people would hate it, even if it was really good.
Robert Eggers could and should adapt this.
No, its not
I bet that even if the movie got made, it would still stuffer having to fight the rating board and MPAA. It would most likely get an X rating which would prevent it from getting a theaterical release.
Beautiful has been one of my top 5 songs since I've heard it. I listen to it almost every day still
Relapse was DEFINITELY waay better than Encore even with the accents, at least he was trying 😂
I listened to it (relapse: Refill) like 5 minutes into this video, so I could know what you are talking about as I never listened to much of it and enjoyed it
Omg .. this will be difficult for me as a non native English speaker
