Like the Flying V. Looks like a 70s. I have a 2006 ‘67 reissue. She is a keeper.
Awesome
That's not a 2009 KE3, it's from the '98-2005 era....96xxxxx or 97xxxxx serial. Those numbers ran in sequence and hit 9700000 circa 2003 and 9800000 circa '07. The KE3 got black hardware and real Seymour Duncans in 2006.
Low-key the Harley Benton headstock would be sick on an ESP Eclipse.
Digging the kindred shirt 🤘
Did you adjust the input settings for your guitar in the GX-100? It's kind of an important thing to do.
Does anyone else see Dave Simpson in 30 years time? Just subscribed!
I would change the Pichup to the Harlay Benton. Build in the same EMG and redy for go 😊
Where are Harley Bentons made? Which countries, does anyone know, please?
Indonesia and China.
Looks like neck through construction on the ESP too...
Beautiful Les Paul's! I love the crunch tone from the P90. Another key difference is the Junior's P90 is screwed directly into the body of the guitar unlike the Standard's humbuckers. Some say that also is part of it's tonal charm. Thanks for the video!
all my guitars are used, apart from my 2 harley bentons. (blackguard tele copy and back cherry flame les paul style).
New subscriber 🤘 I too own a bunch of HB guitar's including the sc 1000 . eclipse copy awesome guitar 🤘🤘
another sponsoring movie...by german big store..
The SC-Custom Plus EMG might be a little closer to that LTD.
No comparison. Esp all day long!!!!!
A pal of mine owns a guitar shop. He has 6 Les Paul Customs & two Eclipse guitars - the ESP’s are his favourites. I have a Custom LP & I love it. It’s personal preference/ both are killer instruments 🤘👍🤘
Skindred! my old band played a few shows with those guys they are mental! Benji is funny as fuck haha great laugh. Never played a Harley Benton but i own an E-II EC 7 string and i put my balls on it there is absolute NO comparison lol but for £129 its not bad at all. That Engl sounds great! \m/
Of course the ESP will have a better tonal output, because of the EMG pickups. The H. Benton isn’t bad either. With a boost pedal you could get a better tonal output. It depends on your wallet. 😊
I think the Harley suites you better.
I agree on the used bit. Bought almost all of my guitar used. My bandmate bought a brand new ESP LTD Eclipse Evertune for £1500, I bought a used ESP E-II Eclipse Evertune for £1300. Both are great guitars, though, nobody would know the difference. Except me, I like my ESPs 😅 The HB is a brand I’ve never seen in real life.
LTD (Ec-1000) is a good choice between… EMGs, locktunners (not a gotoh but also good), nice finish too
You think the build of the guitar as a whole would make it a good platform for modding/upgrading? I guess a used LTD would suit that project the same though
I modded my HB tele with locking tuners, brass comp saddles and a brass nut. i will be rewiring it in cloth covered wire when i change the pickups but the Roswell tele pickups are really quite good.
Anorhter on bended over.. sigh..
Ive been looking at the harley benton victory randy rhodes rip off. Always outta stock tho. Any thoughts?
I like esp but them at hb ain’t bad and the price is nice. Great video
great idea for a video!
that esp is so dang cool
i bought the white one as a b stock, i got some money back because of a headstck crack. it was still intact. but i threw fishmans in, locking tuners, and bloodsplattered it. one of my main guitars now
I have a 2016 PRS Santana SE double cut. I love the playability with the exception of it being body heavy. If I sit to practice the PRS wants to fall toward the body due to the balance. My strat sits perfectly and has great balance. Of course, if you're standing it doesn't matter with the strap holding it in place. I've yet to purchase a LP, because I am happy with my PRS.
The problem is with Gibson these days is their build quality is all over the shop whereas PRS is really consistant, plus those S2 singlecuts are probably the most comfortable Les Paul "style" guitars out there with their belly cuts, bevelled tops and neck joints. Also, when unplugged, the S2's acoustically have the Les Paul honk, so if you don't gel with the sound/pickups, they can be easily replaced to suit your taste.
I have to clarify a single thing on this awewome video. Harley-Benton is Thomann's in-store brand so that's 20-30% off of the street price if someone else tried to sell the same guitar as a re-seller.
Absolutely can't nock it for the price as a backup if you have a Esp as your main
Is the snow white as yellow as it looks in the video? Didn't realise they yellowed that much!
Lemme guess before watching it, ESP wiped the floor with the Gibby? Ok, using neck PU for chugz is a novel strategy....
subbed 😀
ESP, all day long.
Definitely the Gibson
You’re going to change the pick ups to get some Seymour Dunkins 59 and a JB or you can get the Seth lover’s copy of PAFs
2 minutes to midnight 🤘
Can confirm that 50+ year old me won't thank me for the 2 hour sets I do with the les Paul
The Gibson is a LOT more money so it should sound better. The ESP is definately no slouch!
Those cleans sound rough. My guess it it is the amp settings. Seems like it needs a bit more gain on the clean channel and a lot less gain on the dirt channel.
I had to click because my setup is the SD-1 (and RAT), IR-X, and HOF pedal. Sounds good man 👌
Jesus, you're out of tune. All that equipment and no digital tuner, at least? Much prefer the LP. It's not that the ESP is bad by any measure. It's a great guitar. There's just something about the tone of the LP. It's got chunk and a heavy back voice. It feels like home to me when I hear it. And I own both of these guitars. Not a custom shop LP but several standards and the eclipse. I have no issue with the ESP. I'd play it live, if I played on stage. It is a more playable guitar. But the LP, man that LP sound. It's worth all of the trade offs.
A pickup swap and you'd probably be there. Don't know if there's any difference in pickup position, which might add a hair's difference.
well aren't you an unpleasant chap.
Definitely the Gibson. That being said, once I get the Gibson LPC, it’ll be change with EMGs.
According to my spec sheet from 1994, Gibson was putting the 490R/498T set in their standards at that time.
ESP!
Mitchell better all around?
Compared Gibson bridge pickup but the EC1000 you used the neck. Could attribute to some sound differences as well.
