Ibanez RG570
Просмотров 5397 часов назад
Testing a late 80's early 90's Japanese made Ibanez RG570. This has Dimarzio pickups and has been made to look like a Paul Gilbert model. Plugged into an ENGL Fireball 25 on low power.
Friedman IRX with Tube Screamer

Testing my Friedman IRX with the Maxon OD9 which is the original circuit of an Ibanez TS9 Tube screamer. Signal chain is ESP Eclipse, TC Electronic Poly tuner, OD9, Friedman IRX (which has a TC Electric mini HOF in the effects loop.) Out from the Friedman into Alan Heath Cq18t for recording. Then Monitor out from the desk to Headrush FRFR speaker which is the sound in the room.
Friedman IRX with a Boss Blues Driver

Testing the Friedman IRX with a standard Boss Blues Driver. Mostly on the clean channel, but I also try it on the high gain channel with the gain off and level up to see if it tightens the bottom end like a tube screamer with high gain amps.

Are you aware of the linear vs logarithmic taper? Because modelers generally use a different taper than their analog counterparts, which means you will find the same levels at different spots on the knobs. Are you able to find the same sounds if you tweak the digital "knobs" differently?
Good one. Seems you can just cut the high frequency on boss gx and be good to go. Nice
It's more than just high frequencies. The Level and gains are also off, quite a bit in fact when you are in the room.
Through you tube and a nice set of headphones, the tone sounded the same to me. Seemed a bit more clear on the gx-100
In the room the boss SD1 was clearest.
Nice video! Did you use 4 cable connection on the GX? Does it matter?
No, they are gain pedals so don't go on the effects loop. All straight in the front. If I do one with delays or reverbs, I'll use the effects loop.
Cheers for the video. My suggestion is (if you have) an interphase to connect all the sounds there because at least for me with ambient mic you cant hear clearly the differences between. In other way. Sadly in modelers is the same "problem" that isnt the same sound as the original (pedal or amp) with the same settings. You have to tweak to get a closer result. I got the GX100 and i like a lot, tempted to get a Helix LT for more options on amps, pedals and updates...but maybe is just a bad idea. Well i hope more vídeos for the GX100. Cheers from Guadalajara, Mexico
Earned my sub, been wondering this for a long time
Blues driver
Thanks! I have always wondered how they would compare face to face!
I got my rg570 at a guitar center new years sale in 2001. I think the color is called green apple. Her name is Julie, and I love her very very much. I should never have changed out the V7 and V8 pickups for Zakk Wylde’s active emg pickups. I was young and dumb. The original pickups are just fine. I’m gonna reinstall them, one day. The only conceivable things that could make this guitar better is for it to be neck-thru, and for the volume knob to be just a little further away from I strum.
The volume knob being too close to the bridge humbucker is a problem I have with most guitars like this. Even on my own Kramer I end up turning the volume down with my hand hitting it.
Oh, a Frightman!
Pickups are Pro Paf / HS2 / Pro Paf. Serial number says it's a 1990
Boss Blues Driver BD-2
I believe it’s pronounced “freed-mun”
Both of them are a one trick pony, and not a good one. Every setting sounds pretty much the same.
Sound the same on my headphones...
It's very badass!
the crafted one has more thickness in the distortion normal has a brighter tone
They both sounded pretty similar to me.
Excellent taste in music my man! RUclips suggested your video to me
Another example of sometimes Less £££ can end up being more 😁

It looks like the Waza version is a marketing trick
Droopy headstock logo. Original.
i like the gift oy ya gab laddy
Great video, you have a new subscriber
The model 2 has a JC 90 pick up.
love that color!
The first guitar I bought in 1993 was a Charvel. Kind of want it back. Black with slight glitter sparkle. Two single coil and a humbucker. Had a Kahler trem. Have a couple photos of it. I think I traded it in to get my first Gibson SG Standard in 1996.
Very unfair comparison as you said, model series aren't even in the same weight class. :)
In fairness they were similar in price in the UK when released. Just mine has been looked after.
Looks like an original JT6 bridge to me.
I have model 3A, same color and everything but two pickups. Fantastic guitars
👍
Always found Duncan Pickups inconsistent
They sure are. I've been loving the EVH Wolfgang pup, super consistent and sounds great in everything
ESP much more spicy than E-II
2 Seconds to Midnight! Now I want to go learn that riff! Good video btw!
Ain't that beautiful in it's lovely case.❤
What's really crazy is hearing how good these little things sound when hooked up to a proper Marshall 4x12.
very nice!!!
Hi. What about latency?
I'm not sure what it is in terms of figures, but it's like using a real amp. So there's no noticeable delay.
Lp into marshall guy here....only pedal a klone clone...how the hell does that work...is it an amp?
@@martinlahaie6012 It's a pre amp with a cab sim, so you either put it into an frfr powered speaker. For the demo I used a headrush powered 1x8
Thanks man. I appreciate the demo. I think it sounds great. 👍
2024?
It was made in late 23, bought in 24. I'm not sure what the time scale is from a Gibson guitars date of completion in the factory to it arriving on a shop wall in the UK.
Great guitar🤘🏻 how does the neck feel? is it slim?
Yea they are slim. Sort of like 1970's Gibson profile.
That's nice. I remember when I lived in Japan, Sugizo from Luna Sea always used the eclipse models.
Awesome guitars. Great stuff, mate!
Good review mate.
