The portable Fridge LIKE NO OTHER | EcoFlow GLACIER why so expensive?
I was shocked when I saw the price tag on this portable fridge freezer by Eco Flow, compared to other fridges for overlanders / campers it seemed way too steep. But then I got the opportunity to play with one. With an ice maker and built in Lithium power you begin to understand where this unit stands out for adventurers around the globe.

Hi mate - for a 3 day camp in summer with a 220w ecodrive solar panel, what size power station do you suggest? Wha tsize is the small one in your video?
Hey bro l love all of your content so much l watch reruns galore lolz! Just love everything you show including 3 minute Thursdays. Thanks for the tinnie episode, your skills are gold!! Looking forward to more of your mishes!! From Aotearoa NZ. Wild reaches ROKZ 🤜🏾💥🤛🏾
I could really have used that Solar chat right now while tying to buy before EOFY. Bugger. Thanks for the info anyway.
I would have liked to see more of the panel than the presenter cause that's what we're interested in.
Pricing has come down somewhat which is good. $519 for single $759 for double
Whisky ice cubes. Problem with anything than water ice cubes is that the sugar particles will eventually jam the lines. So not recommended. I have this fridge too
Question. In my Fj the ac adaptor can’t charge the fridge. Any ideas?
They sell EcoFlow Solar Angle Guide for $29.90. Little gadget for THAT maximum Solar Power Catch. Yes, 220W way to go. Thank you so much. :) Instant sub! Greetings from Perth.
Great content, thank you| I have hit 460w with a 2x series configurations using these same panels in Texas.
Awesome Nath !!!
I really appreciate your video as you’re hitting input results I’ve been consistently achieving with a single panel, and then I’ve hit as high as 441 (typically range from 410-425) with my 2nd panel (both the same panels as yours). I’ve got photos to verify these impressive results. In all cases, I’m setting mine up over the Mylar blankets. Haven’t yet tried a set up without because the results have been so great & it greatly reduces my charging time on my Delta 2 Max. I’m really pleased with my EcoFlow products so far.
You may want try setting the Bifacial panel on top of a Mylar emergency blanket & I believe you’ll improve the reflective results on the backside of the panel. I use the Mylar blankets for my 2 Bifacial panels & I’ve been pleased with the results thus far.
does swag deflate a bit with the weather changes
Hey mate, do you know anywhere I can purchase a Stessco tripper 379 HS
Here from the main channel, looking forward to all the videos on this channel, keep it up bro 💯💯💯
Maaaate. A. i am a shipwright B. I spent heaps of time in Arnhemland, really similar country/ C. you are so on the money with the tinny. There are really good foams out there, supper strong, that would give you less weight up top, but all in all ... sweet
What video do you actually catch big barra on?
Could you fit two people in this swag? As in your significant other??
Easily
I’ve got the same setup in my vehicle and had it run seamlessly for 3 years. I’ve hooked it up to a permanent solar panel on the roof, and along with the cars alternator, I never have to worry about charge. You can even plug into a caravan parks charge point and bypass the battery through the 2000 w inverter to run multiple appliances. The fridge runs 24/7 and I can’t recommend Enerdrive highly enough. Expensive but totally reliable 👏
Trailer is 🔥 Tinnie is 🔥
You could even stick some automotive, sound insulation on the bottom side of your doors, etc.
You'll never use another knot. It's all I use - Darwin based. Great instructional!!
Hey mate love the build. Very intriguing video to watched loved every second keep up the work! ❤ I did have 1 question I’m look at a hull lime yours and was wondering how much brand new it coasted you just for the hull
Trick - use a can to get the solar panel position/angle correct. Just put one end the can on the panel and minimize its shadow on the panel. This will help you get the right position and close to a 90 degree angle to the sun. Beats looking into the sun.
Excellent design. Should have epoxy coated your timber, anyway probably get redesigned in a few years. The decks that hold weight, if you put some 200g glass each face, you'd get much more load capacity out of the 9mm. Good to hear your considering weight. PS don't trust build plate weights. The industry is unregulated and they lie. Nice budget build Remember, the basic floatation the boat came with would need upgrading. A boat that size would weigh about 350kg dry, 500kg wet motor, gear, fuel etc. So you'll need minimum 0.5m3 of PU foam in the floor. If the boats 800kg, then 0.8m3 or a bit more would stop it from hitting the ocean floor.
Top build mate but as you know living up here in QLD we tend to go out rain ,hail or shine I always put a bilge pump in my boats when I fully enclose them like you have ,you would be surprised how much water could be in your boat after a down pour and if you’re punching thru swell at the same time you can find yourself in a pickle so for less than $100 it could save your life trust me it has saved me twice and you can’t put a price on your family and friends
Thanks for sharing mate. Iv since done this
That’s great power input no doubt.. a lot of thought gone into the panel design and looks like very little into the stand design.. the bag as a stand looks flimsy and for the money You shouldn’t have to use a table to support it
Yeah I agree with that. The bag does work but its not ideal
Really like this, but would you honestly compare against the Darche Air volution?
Great video and very informative. Lose the music. It was distracting.
Which Ecoflow Delta model is that you are using mate?
mate love the detail,,hey 1 thing those comprsn locks up front of the tinni,,,,,be carful with the sand and grime getting in the locks,,just a thought
Good video mate, get out and do some fishing, I’m curious though are you happy with the low transom Cheers from down south
Good video mate but lose the music when you are talking. It's really annoying.
I noticed that the "Pico 2x2" (=double size) is a whooping 50cm wider yet only slightly heavier and packs marginally bigger. Assuming there's no tight spaces in the woods why should a solo camper still buy the 1x1 model?
Great review mate! Looks like a great little unit 👍🏻
🤷 *promo sm*
Great review, and credible with the power output on your charger. Will definitely need to look into EcoFlow.
I'm looking at upgrading from a 35L engel in my canopy, and I've been looking at a 60L engel, but this might have just swayed me. Awesome review Nath, I'm keen to see how you go with it
This is honesty a game change, You have show its place in the industry well Nath. TTT videos are going great.
Love the battery back up system on the EcoFlow, very good for short term use as you describe for weekend use etc. I don't think that I will sell my 40 litre Engels just yet. The solid metal body of the Engels is hard to beat. I have had two of them over 30 years. The first I purchased at a garage sale for $10, replaced the 12v power cable and it worked for around 12 years in the back of a ute working across Northern Australian remote areas. The second was a new purchase 14 years ago and it is still running well. Priced at around $1200-1400 AUD it is hard to beat. The fridge is supported by a lot of in vehicle electronics, the dual battery system and wiring (a start battery, the AGM or Lithium 2nd battery, the electronic isolator, wiring to the back of the vehicle, anderson plugs on the front and rear bars, anderson and other outlets inside the cab, a new AGM every three years or so, they all cost money). If you are working from the vehicle or going on long trips around Oz, then the that expense is more than worthwhile, and a bullet proof 12v fridge is necessary.
Good Evening 😊 Nice but a little pricey for the size 😮 Thanks again , but its too long of a video for a fridge review 😢 Greetings Mate from South Africa 🇿🇦
mmm I thought so too to be honest.
Eco-Flow equipment is great gear we have it over here. Do you realise $1900 Nath with our complete set up you could buy us out 19 times🙄. We like how you explain the fridge as cool!! Series 9 will be great you Mel & The Meletts...Take care for now. The Wild Screeches ....
haha yeah its pricey. Yep thats a going to be a wild trip. Stay posted on the main channel for that one
How much did they secretly pay this guy to "review" (cough cough) this swag? This tent has many features that I was sold on, but then I saw a detailed setup and packup video (from Snowy's) and suddenly the build quality became a deal breaker. The screwed threads for the valves on both the tent and the pump are made of soft plastic (the threads on the tent are a permanent fixture). Those plastic threads won't last long at at, no matter how careful you are. To repeat: it's plastic threads and they WILL wear way way too fast. At this cost, you'd be an idiot to buy the swag, knowing this flaw exists (edit: not to even mention the price). You won't get 10 weeks out of this product, much less 10 years. The poly cotton is also a disaster that's going to happen: the cotton will absorb and hold water, but the "poly" coating is petroleum based, which repels water. That means the poly coating will delaminate from the soaked cotton and this will happen even faster with exposure to UV light. The pump's pressure gauge is also a cheap disaster and doesn't work properly brand new. You are likely to over-inflate both the tent and the mattress because of it. If someone ends up doing a real quality version of this tent - with materials that actually last - I'm sold. This however, ain't it.
haha I wish. You seem to have a lot of knowledge, or a crystal ball... good feedback for everyone either way
@@scott.the.falcon How has yours been in the rain? I like the idea of this swag but yet to see reviews in wet weather?
@@jodyhodgson3397 I've only been caught in the rain properly once, plus a couple of small showers. In the proper rain I had left the front awning open and set up high so a pool of water developed. When I came back to it I dropped one pole and the water drained, no problem. I'm SUPER happy with this "swag"
Casually ascends table with knife to open box, wicked rock landscape photo in background...hands down best review of a fridge on youtube👍
haha thanks mate,
Pretty expensive for its size.
Thats what I thought , at first
@@truckstinniestrebles I love the look of them. It's a shame it won't fit in my fridge compartment in the campertrailer. I'm always checking out new fridges as they come out, for when our knock off waeco dies (came with the camper) as we need one that is low in height and most fridges are all too tall. Have an engel but that stays in the back of car.
My hubby still uses his 35yr old engel in the truck...touch wood it has never let him down......I will be showing him this......sometimes it pays to buy quality ...sometime going cheap you pay more in the end.....
That’s the beauty of brands like Engel. They’re proven 👌🏼
what happened to three minute thursday?
Haha it went out the window. 😂 I’ll still try sometimes
