Lennox Lewis was one of the greats but his first fight with Oliver McCall and his first fight with Hassem Rahman is the reason I would rank him below the likes of Muhammad Ali and Larry Holmes. He did avenge both those losses and I give him credit for that but Ali and Holmes got hit by harder punchers and got off the canvas to win fights. I remember Holmes getting off canvas against Earnie Shavers in 7th round and coming back to KO him in 11th round. Got off canvas against Renardo Snipes in 7th and stopped him in 11th round as well. Mike Tyson who was in his absolute prime and knocking out everyone is the only fighter to ever stop Larry Holmes. Larry to took that fight on a couple of months notice and had been off 21 months. He was 38 years old on top of that. He still claimed off the canvas twice before finally going down. Most of Tyson's opponents were not even getting up after one knockdown. Lennox fought and beat Tyson years later but he wasn't fighting the Mike Tyson of 1988 either.
