OMG, feeling how it all began to shrink and eventually disappear within 2 months was so liberating. I followed the steps I mentioned, and within the first 2 weeks the bloating was gone. I simply go'ogled Tilly Strankten's Guide and it's like I hit the feel-good reset button lol.

Hi Maddie, I recently found your channel and I must say I quite enjoy your vlogs. It feels nice to see a more "human" side to navigating grad school. I'm a first year undergrad student studying nursing in Canada, so I'm probably not your target audience but I still quite enjoy your videos. At first I wanted to pursue the stem field and do bio but I ended up choosing nursing instead. It's really eye-opening seeing the work that you do and you are motivating me to do well in undergrad so that I can go to grad school too. You're like total goals, and I strive to girlboss like you while maintaining a healthy work-life balance!

My friend is workind hard towards her Phd, working full time in a lab for lower than minimal salary, also going into the lab on weekdays, all in a toxic work environment. She is burned out and she knows a more western country has the resources to succeed faster than her lab with not the most up-to-date tech. Her only drive is her love for biology and I admire her so much. I wish you all the best too, as dedicating yourself to a field is a beautiful thing to do.

Finally catching up on some videos today while I pack and get ready for a trip to CA for the holiday! I was a vegetarian off and on growing up, and then did it for around 5? Or so years in late high school and into college. I ended up having to stop because of health reasons and now I feel like I could never go back. My body has transformed since getting more protein in my diet. It really can be a challenge though, no matter the diet! I also feel you on the hormone changes - it’s hard to keep up tbh.

Just for transparency, I'll share a perspective here: We don't print the labels early, mainly because we don't know the weight at that point. We print them after the package has been packed/closed in real time. So the label generation time is real time of when your package was closed up in the box and would then be dropped at the post office the same day. However, the tracking code not showing as "shipped" is because it waits on the first time that the package gets scanned at a sorting facility and not the post office near us that we drop the plants off, normally late the same night or early the following day once the carriers get the packages from post office to sorting facility. I’m glad your surgery went well! I have to have the surgery to remove a 10cm cyst from my right ovary. I have no pain or anything so I was surprised to learn I had such a decent sized one. Never had surgery before so my anxiety is so high right now. Going for pre-op appointment on the 17th with my surgery scheduled for the 30th. I can’t enjoy Halloween. 😂

If you are packing your own food, is there any need/requirement for food protection (i.e. bear canister, Ursak/Opsak, etc)? I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else so I'd assume "no" but still a good question

Thank you for opening up about this. It really helped to get some perspective about what to expect even though I'm in a total different stage of life. Just got one ovary removed few days ago after one desided to flip three times around and send me down on my knees from pain. Also because of an ovarian cyste. Am 53 but totally without noticable symptomes of meno pause, most likely because I have an IUD, which according to my docter really helps against the symptoms,. Never get periods when I have an IUD so maybe when you get to my age and you get symptoms of menopause it is something to consider. Hormonal birth control really gave me terrible headaces after 30. Never before strangly. Notice they do have a different approach here in The Netherland in some sence. The average age for a mother to get her first child is 30,3 here, so many parents get children at 30+ (me 37 without problem, due to not finding the right partner to get them with before) .Even though they do extra checks during pregnancy to check for birthdefects no doctor is worried that much with a mother over 30, unless you talk to the really coservative ones. Stable home situation, mental state and financial situation is concidered more important than age. Of course it's different if you already lost one overy so even without the worry about age it is never bad to keep your options open and consider the advise your docter gives you about harvesting some eggs. But that is something only you can deside. Also about the function of the one overy opions are different here. Here the opinion is that the one left totally takes over the function of the missing one and starts working double and there is no negative effect on the chance of getting pregnant. Who is right or wrong I don't know. Either they are really too optimistic here or in the US they are really pessimitic. Wish you a lot of wisdom and knowledge considering what you want to do. It must be a though thing to worry about at this age. Sorry my reaction is really long.., also just got diagnosed with ADHD, which was more a comformation of something I kind of already knew fore-ever. Too much talking, or in this case writing is one of my major symtoms 😅. Just wanted to let you know I really appreciated you opening up about this, it's really helpfull. Also wanted to wish you a lott of strength, wisdom and even more good luck that no matter what you choose everything will turn out right for you.

These are good points. I was doing PhD in another country as an international student. People did not want anything to do with me. Always feeling unwanted. I had a paper revised 5 times before publication which escalated my pain. It felt the depth of isolation, it felt like an arrow throw my chest. But I finished in 3.5 years 🎉🎉
