Change since the video: To use emissive textures use the existing material SOLID_2_LAYER and just adjust the Parameter 1 to show the initial emission levels (use runApp.exe to run your app.exe game) Then change how you like with ccbSetSolidEmissive(node, amt (0-1)); You can get it on itchio: robo25.itch.io/coppercube-new-apis

Nostalgic. I made a level editor using Irrlicht 14 years ago. Unfortunately their development was already stagnant even back then. I stopped using it after that.

Thanks for this, it was pretty entertaining! The water shader was really nice, as well as the last scene with quite impressive examples of specularity from metal and plastics. Wish i had the knowledge (or rather improved brain functionality) to help out with improving/porting this and other stuff to Coppercube. Appreciate all steps you've made so far. Hope some more people will show up and dig into it!
Fun fact - Irrlicht was used in Yu-Gi-Oh! Online 3 to render in-game 3D models for player characters. It was done in a quick and dirty way to bring 3D model rendering without having to port the code from Tag Force on PSP.

"irrEdit - Irrlicht Properties" in CopperCube remains a mystery to me. Would be nice if somebody could document that Or if some documentation exist then point to that
Its a per material setup for the fixed function pipeline for DirectX or OpenGL (not HLSL or GLSL). Ambient, Emissive etc adjust the net material made up from max of 4 textures. Existing materials in CC only require 1 to 2 textures however.

Hi man, how do you get the mesh from world machine into coppercube
@@monks77712 Thanks - looks ok eh ? - its actually just CC terrain with large spread of the 4k texture using 0.004 as the scale. I use WM and its great but limited to small levels so went with CC terrain instead. I have auto texturing also so CC terrain can look good still...

Hi robbo, i think an action for camera shake will be very interesting for exaggerating explosions and action scenes, do you mind making that too

@saturn7_dev so to use your apis in my game do I have to do something important before it works
First of all obj files runs better than fbx in coppercube. and second of all realtime shadows only work with a directional light in the scene. to make it run better i would recoment using pre calculated lightmaps

I very occasionally check his discord but not for a while...so not much
So does this boost performance?
Much faster load times by 2-10x actually and much lower draw calls to the GPU using less textures so should help also with FPS

@@monks77712 yes, but these days its easy to hack any game for assets if you want to....just rename to something other than ccb and will still load and there are other trick I wont mention publicly to hide stuff a bit..

consider weaponbob without touching the camera, instead. much more pleasant, and realistic.
I am going to change the existing bob method from camera rotation to changing collision shape instead so should look better actually

That's cool. I started playing with the Coppercube engine and realized the grass sticking out from the slope while all having same vertical angle looks super ugly. I minimize the effect by putting small sized grass on more angled surface but ideal situation would be grass object tilting to match the slope.
Yes, that will work and you can adjust individual plant types sizes now using my new API also

When you say relief stones you mean terrain texturing that looks like small stones or you mean actual 3d mesh placed about on the terrain ? - do you have an example of what you are referring to ?

I can but my version of this is quite complex actually - too complex for most people. Sven on the CopperCube forum does medium level stuff and other things that are easier to follow. Maybe ask him for his version.
