Tokyo, Japan (Part 2) - Raw Chicken and Horse, 4D Immersive Art Experience, Shibuya Crossing Madness
I return to Tokyo, Japan to take a deeper dive over five days, exploring more of its districts and all the uniquely-Japanese things they offer, such as the crowded, wild nightlife in Shinjuku, a luxurious Japanese kaiseki breakfast at Ginza Inaba, the gaming/anime/electronics wonderland that is Akihabara, an incredible, immersive art experience at teamLab Planets, throwing ninja stars in Tokyo Tower, joining the madness at Shibuya Crossing, and eating raw chicken and horse meat.

Kyoto, Japan (Part 3) - Bamboo Forest, Japanese Monkeys, 10,000 Torii Gate Shinto Shrine

Before heading back to Tokyo, I spend my last days in Kyoto taking a stroll through Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, feeding Japanese Macaques at Arashiyama Monkey Park, checking out Kyoto's food scene in and around Nishiki Market, and exploring the famous Shinto shrine, Fushimi Inari Taisha with its 10,000 torii gates, at night for a whole different vibe. Kyoto, Japan (Part 2) - Fire Ramen, Japanese Breakfast, Kyoto Sunset, Traditional Japanese House

I embrace more of Kyoto, Japan, where I eat a traditional Japanese kaiseki breakfast at a ryokan (traditional Japanese inn), tour Nijo Castle (home of the first shogun during the Edo period), experience fire ramen at Menbaka, view all of Kyoto at sunset from Kiyomizu-dera Buddhist temple, and stay the night in Gion at a machiya (a traditional Japanese house). Kyoto, Japan (Part 1) - Samurai Training, Micro Pigs, Japanese Pancakes, Ryokan Life

I explore Kyoto, one of Japan’s most culturally-rich cities, where I stay and dine at a ryokan (traditional Japanese inn) in the very traditional district of Gion, train to use a samurai sword, hang out with some very cute micro pigs in a pig cafe, and try one (okay, two) very delicious (and jiggly) Japanese soufflé pancakes. Nara, Japan - Feeding the Bowing Deer of Nara Park
Просмотров 33Месяц назад
I visit Nara Japan in search of the famous bowing deer that roam free through Nara Park. When not feeding the deer, I visit the Kasuga Taisha Shinto shrine, the Todai-ji Buddhist temple, a McDonald's on Higashimuki Shopping Street, and Nakatanidou to watch the professionals pound mochi with wooden mallets.
Osaka, Japan - Go-Karting and Food-Touring Through Japan's Kitchen
Просмотров 26Месяц назад
After leaving Tokyo and arriving in Osaka by bullet train, I get busy exploring Japan’s kitchen for all the delicious cuisine it has to offer, including the Netflix-famous Izakaya Toyo. It is an energetic city with a laid-back attitude, and what better way to tour it than by go-karting through its city streets with Akiba Kart Osaka.

Flying in Lie-flat Business Class with ANA for Cheap
Просмотров 2312 месяца назад
After having endured 16 hours of torture and sleep deprivation in economy class on a previous nonstop flight from Hong Kong to Boston, I was determined to fly in one of those lie-flat, business class seats on my next long-haul international flight, and I did just that, with ANA, on this 14 hour flight from Houston to Tokyo. The experience was so enjoyable that I didn't want the flight to end. A...

Hey, Keith! What's up? Really really nice video, and I enjoyed it a lot. I am just curious, how much did this trip cost in total? I am looking forward to do one of these.

Juice! My OG subscriber! Glad you enjoyed the video. Between the flight, a mix of cheap and luxury hotels/ryokans, public transportation (local trains/buses, bullet train using Japan Rail Pass, taxi), food and drink (food was actually relatively affordable, even for those special meals), and a few tours/activities… this 17-day trip cost a few thousand USD. I saved up my pennies ahead of time for this one. Hope you make out there!

@@juice6321 A lot of it I pre-planned over the course of a year, as there was a lot I wanted to see, and didn’t want to figure out logistics and schedules while there. Also, some things required reservations. I did leave some room in my itinerary to get lost though and see where things led.

@@CuriousKeith Thanks, mate. It all depends on monetization to be honest, just gotta put in the effort. The flight is giving me the most anxiety though, that's a long time to travel from the east coast.

@@fleetingimmersiontotally understand, I previously despised long-haul flights until I flew 14 hours to Tokyo in business class; a game-changer. Check out my first video for details (linked below), I provided some tips in the video’s description section on how to efficiently earn credit card points/miles towards these expensive business class flights that you might find helpful: "Flying in Lie-flat Business Class with ANA for Cheap" ruclips.net/video/8-05u6J8zlM/видео.htmlsi=jDR_k3huFJLeNwhj

@@CuriousKeith Will check it out, I was kinda leaning toward business class for such a long flight anyway, but am very ignorant of airline credits and the like. Will have to prepare for that one before the trip.

Haha, no doubt you did. Maybe my stupidity will inspire the manufacturer to create a new version that can detect intact covers, halts the smoothie-making process, and audibly shames the customer until the cover is removed.

Haha, good catch, Jesus! I try to do this for every flight, given what the flight crew have to put up with from some passengers these days. It does earn me points with the crew, but I honestly just enjoy taking care of them, they are always so appreciative. This was the first time a flight attendant initially refused my gift (in true Japanese form), but eventually accepted it after I insisted.
