1+1=2
1 = 9 -8
No that's adding a matchstick not moving one
-7(7=-1
This is one of those cases where we say the emperor is naked
I didn't get the reference
GREAT VIDEO! Liked and subscribed ❤
1=9-8
Interesting
your not mr J LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
7=7=7
I knew within 3 seconds how to solve the problem but it takes at least one minute to write down the answer. (100+13)^2-(100-13)^2=4*13*100=5200
I don't like how you write your 4's.
200*26=5200
you have 3 seconds, but the video takes almost 3 minutes...
the video is the explanation. if you know the rule you just need seconds to calculate it.
Half a minute, maybe, including double-checking. Btw, you mean simplify, not solve. I probably spent a second ot two searching for a variable.
2 minutes or more
Maybe 5 seconds but 5200.
7+2=9
That's a lot more than one matchstick haha
1-9=8
Tunen the x 45 degree
That's two moves. Mine is one move;)
1 menos 6 igual 8? ¿?
Make 8= 9
Move just one matchstick. Dats the rule! No board manipulation, dude! See better answers below ;>)
O.o
For me moving the whole board would count as several moves, so I wouldn't accept this as a possible solution. I also thought about 1 - 5 ≠ 8 or 1 ≠ 5 - 8 as solutions, but I think 1=9-8 may be the most elegant one.
1=9-8
1 - 5 ≠ 8 or 1 ≠ 5 - 8
Yes, I also thought about these two solutions 👍
8一2=6
It's easier to do this in binary as the exponent here is of 2. 2^20 is simply a 1 with twenty zeroes. Subtract 1010001 from 100000000000000000000 and you have your answer.
Jeesh ... get something right ... (x != 0)
Yeah you can say that. I would just say that there are possible definitions for 0^0 but at the end, 0^0 isn't defined
After realizing it was 1024*1024, my muscle memory was then expecting a difference of squares...
I also like the proof with negative powers: 2^2 x 2^(-2) = 2^(2+(-2)) = 2^0 = 1 4 x .25 = 1
We are not taught that multiplication table method in America, but we should be! That’s waaay easier and more efficient than the longhand multiplication we’re taught!
Are you taught Elizabethan multiplication?
This is actually now part of the 4th grade standard for states using Common Core, so for some students it is.
I've been using it since I was around 6 years old haha.
or you can grab a calculator - what's your point
Agreed. There was no new technique shown there. It was just brute force.
The point is pretty obvious? It's how to solve a specific Olympiad question for which you obviously cannot use a calculator. Else the poster wouldn't have made this video right
rotating it 180 moves ALL the sticks so its a 20 stick move.
Okay, instead of rotating the board, you just look at the board from the other side?
Ok aside from the trick solution of rotating the whole thing, you can do it in 1 by moving any match to turn the = into ≠ for example 3 ≠ 2 - 8, or two to make 9 = 9 - 0
Actually, you moved all of the sticks. The simplest i could find was 2 moves. 9=9-0
Just look at the board from the other side instead of rotating the board.
Doesn't that take 3?
@@snap-off5383 Just 2 moves.
0 moves. rotate it 180 degrees
Flip it over
Hahaha 🤣🙃😂 🏆
Move 2, change 9 to -5 & change 2 to 3 for the solution -5 = 3 - 8
Rotate the board 180 degrees instead ;)
@@MathsMadeSimple101 🙃 Oh, you’re right!
What about corn?
That counts!
simple and easy 8+1=9 .
9 + 1 ≠ 6
8+1=9
Move the vertical half stick of the "+" and cover the "=" at an angle for : 8 - 1 does not = 6.
One match only, make the 6 a 9.
It can be done with less than one matchstick move.
Turn it 180°, take 1 match from #9 to make 5 and take 2 matches from the upper left and bottom right of #8 to make a 2, add the 3 matches to #1 to get a 3. 5=(3+2)
You could take 3 matches from #8, the top, bottom and lower left corner to leave a #4 in its place and then arrange the 3 matches to make #2 from the #1. (4+2)=6.
u need to explain things instead of just writing things other wise ur video is pointless
# 2 7-7=0
Technically, no. Because the vertical matchstick is actually underneath the horizontal one, so you couldn't move it without moving the matchstick on top.
Green or blue?
Either way, we worked out both :)
😆 *Promo SM*
Huh
