When I drafted Kil'jaeden, I was actually thinking of when you told me you were interested in seeing one on YT! Actually part of the reason I uploaded this! Always love to hear feedback, and I'm super glad you liked the run 😄

No use having the same conversation over and over on a different platform. All I can say is, if you respected me as a person and wanted a fair fight, then you would also respect my asks to kindly stop queuing into me on purpose repetitively on your terms.

Very tough to answer generically. I can provide some things I think about per game - Is the value of playing the card/spending the mana (ex. playing Infinitize) worth it for me right now? Is the card I will generate/keep in hand more important than most (which gives me a percentage risk) or all of the cards in my deck? Will the cards in my hand end the game as is and therefore no draw is more important than the state of the game right now? In general, if the card being added to your hand is more valuable, and there is no particular card that you can't win without, a burn may be worth it. You can honestly consider it a card you would have never drawn in a way, as if it was on the bottom of your deck - Imagine you have 10 cards left, and with 9 of them you prefer to generate a card from Infinitize which is more likely to win, and with 1 you don't, then given you have no information about your deck order, 90% of the time it's more worth it to burn. Each individual case takes some more in-depth thinking, but it becomes somewhat second nature when you get used to thinking these lines (in fact I found it a little hard to put into words 😅).

It's a cool idea, but I think it would require them to re-work how both weapons and locations work entirely. Would be cool to see more interactability like this in the game though! I think the tech cards they design seem so niche and otherwise bad that they don't really see play, especially when the cards they're teching against stop being printed after the fact.

That game was not fair. Never a fan of facing other top players because it very often comes down to deck quality or RNG, and I'm pretty sure this one was decided by deck quality.

Really appreciate this! Unfortunately, like they said, these campaigns are typically intended for Twitch, and don't last too long. Usually, by the time I get the video on YT, the sponsorship would be over, hence why I don't mention anything additionally. That's crazy! Assimilating Blight is so strong just by itself, and 6 of any card is already super rare, let alone when it's of such a strong card.

Cool idea actually. One day I'd like to have more courage to try out these things without the fear of impact, but I have to feel more comfortable with where I'm at or more pressured to try new things if what I'm doing isn't working. Either way, hopefully some day I'll get to this kind of variety and this idea seed has been planted 😊

I really agree with that, but even beyond it, I think they need to have enough "lower" power level sets in a row and/or with lower power creep to reset a standard rotation and set HS on a better design path for the future. I agree each of the power creep and too weak expansions have happened before, but honestly, it's been a while since expansions have been called "lower power", and I honestly like this one for the most part as to how it was designed. Unfortunately, a lot of standard players don't because it has to be seen in light of all the other sets in play (which are basically defining the meta), but I hope this set will create a new foundation for a better 2025 design process.

You're very welcome! I don't think full VoDs would perform very well on YT, so it's not something I'd likely do - if you're really interested in watching beyond the specifically chosen runs that are edited, Twitch does save VoDs for 1-2 months on my channel which can be some additional content 😊

Part of what I like about arena honestly. I've sometimes had runs where the most absurd and nail-biting games aren't towards the end - you never know what's round each corner!

I hugely disagree with this. Arena was a beta era mode and never viewed as such. I'm not going to jump to any far-fetched conclusion based on a disagreeable state. Could it be? Well, I can't say no. But could it also not be? Yeah. I think something people forget too often is that there is more value than you can imagine being in the market for a draft mode. It's just such a huge plus for them to have a game mode that is considered quintessential for CCGs nowadays that I think it's worth it EVEN if it's a net negative financially for them (which I can guarantee you it is nowhere near - people spend thousands on arena, and you can see how they spend nothing at all to maintain it). This being said, I still think it's ridiculous for arena to be left this way for so long - but my conclusion is a massive resource issue as they work on underground arena, and my biggest worry is that as more and more people place faith in this new change, it won't be good enough to deliver such a long-winded build up of hope, EVEN if it ends up being a good mode.

Yeah for sure, but I promise I thought about it first haha. Sometimes I make plays without speaking every reason out loud, otherwise it would take me 5 minutes a turn and chat would never stop with the boomer roping spam 😂

Haha nah, it's all good. I don't mind it personally, especially since I remember I'm creating content too rather than just playing, but I also do enjoy the extra complexity sometimes because it gives a little change up from the day to day arenas.

I'm totally with you. My biggest worry about the major arena changes next year is that even if they're quite good, it will just not be enough after people have invested so much hope into them following such an extended period of essentially negligible support. I'm ever hopeful anyway, and in my position, I kind of have to be and I'll just pray. Fingers crossed that it exceeds our expectations and they deliver a good product.

100%. Depends on what I'm feeling usually, but if the archetype could be viable, I'm down to try sometimes. It's not the best for consistent results, but it makes for great content I feel!
