Think about how much I've played for almost 4 years, I think it's only happened to me 2 or 3 times ever. To be fair, we all might get offered a ton of copies of some crap card we always skip, but for it to align for the deck, crazy rare. I've seen people share decks with even 9 copies of the same card though!

It can work wonders, but to be fair, I got way more pieces than you'd normally expect in this deck.

Yeah that risk could've panned out differently, but it's hard to say. It was a close call for me.

Unfortunately, it happens often enough that I have to re-iterate that often to make sure people understand it's how I feel.

I make my choices independent of any tracker - intuition beats anything when you play as much as me. But, the tracker I've got online during draft is Firestone 😊

I know, I know, you're right 😅 I'm trying to get different classes and different archetypes, but after avoiding Rogue a little, I gave it a try on stream and ended up with a 12-0. I couldn't not post a flawless run! I'm working on next week's videos right now, and no Rogue there ok? Managed to pull off some unique archetypes I can almost guarantee you've not seen before, so get ready 😉

The way I like to put it nowadays is that skill matters A LOT more than it used to (honestly, I believe this), but also, there are less games than there used to be in which it matters too. The duality of modern arena. Unfortunately, it does lead to a lot of false positives, where people will assume a game cannot have been won by skill, but actually it could have. Then again, there are a ton of games where skill cannot bridge the gap of deck quality + RNG.

It ended up being so dragged out because of it too 😅 It happens sometimes, but it's crazy. My deck was super good, and it took so much for them to contest it. The opponent played super well too - they happened to be someone in my chat who came in and said they got especially lucky to close that one out. Still a good game overall, just a little bit of a tilter.

Thank you! Essentially, I feel the value of curve vs. the value of hitting key strong cards is not what it used to be. Playing the 2/1 on 1 will get nowhere close to impacting the outcome of the game compared to a chance to hit Doc for example. Especially on coin with a strong 2 & 3 in hand, I'd much rather opt for that. Mulligan isn't about hitting curve, it's about maximizing your chances of winning - this is something that is important to understand. It's about giving yourself the best odds to hit the cards you think are vital, whilst making sure you're not risking too much by falling behind too early. For example, as a hyperbolic case, if a deck was 29 premium 2 drops and a 9 drop win condition, I will gladly always full mulligan for the 9 drop, because I will naturally hit the other cards that I need, so I can afford the increased chance. It's usually more tough than that, but just using it to explain what I mean by maximizing odds to win.

@@lollipanker2229 Draft overlay and mulligan win rate overlay are only part of the premium version, but a lot of the stats are available in the app even in the free version (but you have to look up the card manually).

Nebula is crazy good. As a stand-alone card, I think it's the best one for arena from the most recent expansion. Some DK cards take the edge because of synergy, but Nebula is insane by itself.

Rogue has some unique builds this meta and I've found that fun! But don't worry, I've got the usual class variety of runs coming up 😉

I think that's just how everything in HS goes. Same thing with tokens - you summon a 10/10 corpse bride skeleton or a 1/1, it looks the same. They just did the same for starships. At least they gave them a per-class art and also a special signature art too, but for seeing how huge it is you have to hover it or click it and see the individual pieces. Would be cool to have something else, but I don't mind how it is now either tbh.
