SAMPLEMODELING - OFFICIAL CHANNEL
Samplers and synthesizers have been for decades the cornerstones of virtual music.
The virtues and drawbacks of each approach are well known. Simply put, samplers, while preserving the basic timbre of the real instrument, result in a static sound, which cannot properly morph across dynamics, vibrato, portamento etc. This is particularly true for solo instruments.
Synthesizers allow for greater expressiveness, but at the expense of the realism of sound.
Despite recent improvements, the situation has not substantially changed over the last two decades, and the difference between real and virtual instruments is still easily perceived at the very first listening.
The purpose of our research and development was to overcome these limitations, leading to virtual instruments which could not be distinguished from the real ones.
This has been achieved by our sample modeling approach.

Hello everyone, welcome to this new Samplemodeling tutorial! Today we introduce legato and portamento/glissando techniques. With string instruments, these articulations are generally played in a single bow-stroke, so that subsequent notes are not separated but rather connected to the previous one by some type of transition. If the duration of the transition is short and obtained with standard f...

the best! so well performed. Some of those notes, there's 100's of French (or Italian?) afternoons listening to the exquisite sounds.
トランペットの音が素晴らしいのはもちろんだけど、デモ曲が好きすぎて何回もこの動画を見ちゃう。
Where are all the comments on this video? I purchased the Trumpet v3 a couple of weeks ago. I just composed quick Cuban jazz piece. As a trumpet player, I can say this is THE *BEST* trumpet of any library - better than Cinesamples, Orchestral Tools, East West Hollywood series, Cinematic Studio - better than all of them. What Sample Modeling has done here is nothing shy of remarkable. It works for all genres, just like a real trumpet. If you're considering a trumpet to add to your library, just get it. Next up for me, the horn and tuba, then Trombone. After that, nothing is stopping me from acquiring their strings.

Can these strings sound totally dry or is the reverb baked in?
Kontakt?? THANKS A LOT! 🥰
Got an email saying that I had to uninstall it. That it was mistakenly installed by Native Instrument...blah blah blah, threat threat threat Maybe yall and Native Instruments needs to figure out how to deal with this on your end. It's wasn't our fault.
Currently, the Solo instruments are not being sold as individual products - the description is outdated.
thank you. we will rectify this asap. :)
I want to know when String V3 will be released. Thank you!
This is by FAR the best string library to ever exist. Gladly paid 500 dollars no questions asked. You guys really thought this whole thing out with no bullshit. Seriously amazing work.
Woodwinds? :)
I'm a big fan of samplemodeling. The string solo and brasses are the best virtual instrument I've ever bought. can't wait for your woodwinds instrument. I also bought SWAM woodwinds, but it sounds not that airy, especially the flute and piccolo. And strangely, their clarinet sounds like an oboe😮 I believe Samplemodeling can do far more better because of the sample based tech. SM product sounds more airy, woody and inaccurate but natural.
what an amazing sound! but I am facing a problem that even I set my velocity to very low(about 6), it still sounds like a weak legato but nor portamento I want. I tried to change cc5 portamento time, but sounds like nothing happened. I'm wondering if you can help me solve this problem. Thanks a lot!
Nice video. Thank you!
MIDI keyboard anyone?
Hi, do you have any plans to make educational videos about your brass instruments?
God bless you for this video, it has Made my day 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼😭😭😭 It has also given me the answers to my questions for years
Hi , how did you get this window in logic ? Showing all midi cc at one - 2:08
Brass V4.Please❤❤❤
I still don't understand the difference between samplemodeling and audiomodeling as companies and products. Can you explain the differences between your products (SWAM vs. samplemodeling) please?
I can a little bit. They used to be same company. But the team that developed the SWAM engine, which doesn’t rely on samples but are pure synthesis, split of and founded their own company. I think the advantage of Sample Modeling is the tone of their instruments, which is based on samples and gets modelled from there. The advantage of Audio Modeling is the almost endless flexibility of the instruments. From over pressured, scratchy Tremolos in sul ponticello to soft and rich in overtone sul tasto/flautando- combination there is no limit. Still. Tremolos, runs and trills sound way better with sample Modeling. And sometimes a combination of both is just perfect. Anyway, I said good bye to my east west, VSL, Iconica strings. Those performances based libraries (Aaron venture and VWinds with similar approaches to count in) allow you to write what’s in your head and not what’s in the library
Always the best!!!
Awesome!
Wow! Fantastic! Can't wait for woodwind instruments!
me too!can't wait for an airy woodwind
Not sure about that 20th Century Fox example.... There are drums in that example, and there is no way to truly claim that the strings or brass are from the libraries here, if you are not able to reproduce the playing without instruments that you don't have. Not trying to be a jerk. But it is objectively suspicious.
true. But all the brass and strings are Samplemodeling
@@giortomm That is my point... There is no way to know that if they were not able to reproduce the example without the instruments which they do not have it in the lineup.... what's to stop me from claiming that I didn't just make that on an MPC? Anyone can claim anything, if there are no reasonable boundaries... Like a 7th grader could claim to have purchased the most expensive house in Jackson Hole, Wyoming without ever having had a bank account. That kid doesn't have a way to make such a purchase, just as sample modeling's lineup has no way to reproduce drums. Know what I mean?
I love your strings library!!
Deleted every single string and brass librarie I owned after getting Samplemodeling instruments. Those are the best ever! Are there any plans to develop woodwind instruments? I desperately need those in my template! Take my money!
I use them alot.
I bought the brass bundle last year and would love it if you released a woodwind library.
Samplemodeling you are the best....any predictions for the launch of the saxophones?
Man, you guys didn’t overlook a single detail… I can’t wait to purchase these libraries!
While these libraries are mostly designed to work within DAWs, I'm really happy because I figured out how to make this work within notation software (Dorico), whose key editor makes it pretty easy to access notes behind the scenes to adjust velocity/overlap timing/CC lane automation, without any affect on the visual score itself. Then I can fake a gliss. line (set to no playback so it doesn't attempt to do a weird pitchbend), just for score presentation purposes. Best of both worlds - FINALLY able to achieve convicing slow string glissandos in mockups rather than weird chromatic steppy samples or synthetic pitch bending of samples. This sounds a lot more realistic and fun. Thanks SM!
As a string player, this makes me very happy to have access to write with a library which truly understands the timbral and expressive differences between downbow and upbow, legato and detaché, among other detailed nuances. Almost every other library out there treats all strokes as the same. Looking forward to trying this out.
How funny, I am a cellist part of a local community string ensemble and we literally just played Warlock's Capriol Suite at a recital a couple weeks back so I know this piece well (and how it should sound) - and I have to say this sounds very good. Bravo!
is it NPE compliant? can use vibrato with a roll seaboard?
The libary sounds fabulous .. on a side note , what piano library was used >?
MIDI?! 😁
Cest excellent de réalisme
Awesome!
So you're just shaking your hand so the head will move as well? the HEAD tilt is still what's triggering this?
Can I see a tutorial on how this one was made so I can get similar results?
Just bought the library and love it! I would love to be able to do portamentos with tremolo. Any chance that will be added in the future?
I'm having trouble with vibrato rate & intensity. Is this the same as vibrato rate & depth? If so, intensity is working as it should, but my attempts to control the rate with the knob (or cc) are failing to make a noticeable change. I thought perhaps it was based on DAW BPM but that isn't it. Wonder why I can't get any vibrato rate change? I'm in FL Studio, could that be the problem? (Yes, I think FL Studio doesn't behave well. I had to switch dynamics from CC11 back to CC1, and set up the vibrato delay to a separate CC on my controller. With all 3 controllers I had to slowly move each of them until the program responded. I think the holdup was the vibrato rate was dependent on resetting the v. delay to a low value and v. delay wasn't resetting to a low value. Maybe a MIDI cc log jam. Anyway it's still not really working - because there seems to be a vibrato under the vibrato - this wobble goes away if I lower the vibrato rate value to zero (no vibrato), but it comes back in strong at about a cc level of 10/128 so it never sounds like a slow vibrato. My DAW's not even running. Is this due to some midi randomness going on behind the scenes?
Brilliant work!
Very nice. Maybe the tempo is a little too fast
Super realistic
Extremely good! The only thing that I absolutely don't like is that you don't use the industry standard CC1 for Dynamic and CC11 for volume. It would be even better if you want to switch libraries, what actually I will not do because I don't want to have to do all this extra work :(
Agreed about CC1. It adds unnecessary work. My biggest issue is the 'small room' tone not translating to ensembles very well. The cello and basses staccato and pizz have some kind of 'tin can' effect because of it. I can't put a finger on what it is or how to fix it, but it's why I eventually left VSL. Instruments need room.
Amazing work ! It's worth listening to the original to see how great this is done. A bit more detail, bass pizz and air in the original .. of course but still :p ruclips.net/video/e6pEIHtffqQ/видео.html&ab_channel=PhilharmoniaOrchestra
