Wow my comment got deleted….
I can see your comment.
Definitely Meg Ryan.
LOL, yeah, looks like it to me also!!
For driving in track nails or spikes, I use a nail set. They come in sets of 3. I use the medium one Needle nose pliers work to get Them started.
I'll have to check that out.
nice traveling clips and a sweet railroad there :)
Thanks so much!!
Couple other data points as per your questions. All conductors had a schedule of all trains operating. They knew when trains were to arrive and depart and from which town. The rule was that train needed to wait 15 minutes and then could move ahead but had to have a flagman a few hundred ahead as a warning signal. I do not believe switch lists were in play then, at least on the W&A. Conductors had way-bills to pass on when a cargo needed to be delivered. Cars stayed with the train as per the General on its way to Chattanooga to pick up cargo and return to Atlanta. Engine-men also stayed with their loco and train. Conductors, engineers, etc., were very familiar with other trainmen and knew when and/or where other trains were meant to be. Other note - dog-leg link was called S link. The fellas who look like they were taking photo is a signal tower. Thanks again for your gracious and approach with curiosity in the review of your ops experience.
Nicely done Heath. Thank you for the recognition. You sharing the appreciation for the era and our intent to draw operators into a reasonably authentic experience is also a big plus. As for a shirt, most solid color shirts or a plaid. Many shirts then did not have a collar. Hopefully the next ops is Dec or Jan. All the best
My opinion, I absolutely hate the new throttle. MU functions are not always working. Seems like it gets stuck in a loop and nothing responds properly
I must admit, my go to throttle these days is the UWT-50 set to yard mode.
Last week, when someone on chat wondered how you were going to program, I thought he/she was referring to speed match programming. Good episode on general setup dcc programming you use and why anyway. Thanks for the show.
I am going to use the Purple Hat from Hans Tanner on the IOTT channel.
Interesting show as usual Heath, interesting discussion! (Dave).
Thanks Dave, I am glad you enjoyed it.
@@HumancityJunction Your very welcome.
Hello.. do you know of this guy is still selling any of his pieces
I have him saved on eBay and I have not seen him post anything in a long time.
@@HumancityJunction ok. thanks so much
I've just gotten my first N scale locomotive recently... an NW2 switcher... now to get one more, a road switcher like a GP unit of some sort... and then I'm not sure how many more I will need... I think 5 or 6 will be sufficient for the scale of what I hope to build...
Six is definitely sufficient for the size of my layout. Yes, I have many MANY more than six locomotives.
Good to see you're up and about and looking happy again
I am doing much better and it is good to be back in the saddle again.
That circus train is all backwards...usually the stockcars were in front of the flatcars on circus trains
@@mikeingersoll7344 you are not wrong about that, except for the big cats. They were usually at the very end of the train.
how useful do you think the larger screen and extra soft keys are? My home stuff is NCE, but I am debating getting some Digitrax stuff, or at least a duplex throttle, as that is what most are using in my area.
If you are NCE, and it works for you, I would get a TCS UWT-50P. This is currently the main throttle that I take to all operations sessions as it will work with both Digitrax and NCE.
Been here back in 2004. Very cool store! Watching this brought back memories.
There are parts of the store that appear to very much be stuck in time.
Welcome back. Get well soon so you can cough and sneeze without pain 😂
Thanks, I miss those joys in life :)
Take care of yourself man. Get well.
Thanks so much.
Hi Heath about 15 years ago I had only 1 Gallbladder attach the pain just increase and didnt stop taken in by Ambulance and give heap of pain killers and the next day I had my Gallbladder out , I can sympathize with you and under stand what you have been through . After my recent 1 in a million cancer and being cut from the rib to the pubic bone (have my own train line ) and had all my muscles cut and spline remove , 16 hours 20 + surgeons operation having Morphine on tap still didnt help with pain i had 5 week before i could even get out of bed i had to learn to walk again thats why i was away for so long I still get muscle pain that bring me to tears So please take it easy and look after your self and don't push your self too hard, Keep well regards Greg
Greg, you have been through quite the adventure, but I am glad to hear from you!!
glad your doing ok. you were the talk of Timodium, but it was a short conversation. is Heath coming? he just had gallbladder surgery. oh well he be out of it for a bit.. Did you see the train as you came in ? lol I like you have not booked a room yet for Amherst, and I like you might be stuck at work
I just booked Amherst. At this point I am just going to go hang out, not film. Although I said that last year as well.
Be well Heath, take care! (Dave).
Thank You
@@HumancityJunction you're very welcome.
Hang in there Heath. Take care of yourself first.
Ron, thanks, just need some time.
Well I’m going in for stapedectomy on Tuesday the 22nd also found out I have a deviated septum that’s causing my migraines
I’ll be unable to lift push or move more than 10lbs for three weeks. So no work joy for me
Yike!!
I was told 7 lbs for 3 weeks, then I could start doing aerobics. I was like wait, was I supposed to be doing aerobics prior?
@@HumancityJunction right!
🤔 What about tonight?
It's all about humanity 🕺
As I am sure you know by now, I did not stream this night.
Heath, i have new wifi cameras being develop fie N scale. I thought i’d let you know. You will be able to do the same as I using the GUI , if you want.
I would be interested in hearing more about them. I really want something that is minimum 720p @ 30fps. I find the fps is the hardest to get over WiFi with a small camera.
I have about the same amount of "complete" Circus Train, plus Tim McCoy, Cole Brothers, Royal American Shows, plus a HUGE NUMBER OF PICTURES
My collection has increaed SLIGHTLY since this video in 2020. By slightly, I mean that I now have a circus trains in Z, N, HO, S, O and G scale.
East or West or JUST GERMANY
West Germany
My concern is what happens when you go to ballast the track and you need isopropyl alcohol to make the glue sink into the ballast. I've read never use anything but pencil on your subbase because if you use something like a Sharpie the ink will float to the top of the track ballast and ruin it.
Jon, Absolutely agree on the Sharpie. I learned this the hard way. Especially when I made the mistake of using Red Sharpie instead of just Black. I am not planning to ballast the track for a few more months, so by that time, the track will pretty much stay in place on it's own. I am also planning to try out "Ballast Magic" from Deluxe Materials, so I do not think I will have an issue with over saturation.
@@HumancityJunction I watched the Ballast Magic video. It doesn't need isopropyl alcohol to make the glue sink into the ballast so it should not cause a problem. Thanks for letting me know about it. I wasn't aware of it till you mentioned it.
@@JonBanquer I think (could be completely wrong) that Ballast Magic is simimlar to powdered wallpaper paste. Once I get into ballasting, I have some generic items that I also want to try.
@@JonBanquer Powder Polyvinyl Alcohol - Is the ingredient.
@@HumancityJunction Maybe an experiment is in order? Take a small section and mark it with plenty of red and black Sharpie. Wait 24 hours and apply Ballast Magic and see what happens?
Sorry I missed it just came in was working on wiring. 😊
I checked my mailbox after the show and there was a small envelope inside, but it was not pink.
I am intersted in your camera set up. How are you broadcasting your channel? I use straight tyo youtube or via streamyard. Are those cameras hard wired or?.........
Charlie, I am using OBS to RUclips. The setup in this stream was a temporary setup as my computer had died. So this was a combination of diffferent setups. My full setup for streaming with the new computer has some wired cameras, mostly HDMI, and then I have some wireless cameras, using RTSP. I will have my iPhone connected as well, but I was having an issue with NDI, so it was not hooked up. I prefer the hard wired HDMI cameras for their quality. StreamYard and other similar solutions can be a great entry into live streaming that provide more bells and whistles than the YT app. For me, OBS is a good solution and allows me to accomplish what I want.
@@HumancityJunction Thank you
Do you have any videos of? how you program the control? how you enter an engine and have it work? I've purchased one of the but of having trouble. figuring out how to program it. and use it.
What is your full setup? Command Station? How the throttle is wired to the command station, etc... Are you sure the throttle is connected correctly? What is the locomotive address? To connect to a locomotive, you press the loco button, then the number, then the loco button. This should then give you control of the loco. This video has more than you need, but should help get you started selecting a loco. ruclips.net/video/2pYw6ORBpdU/видео.htmlsi=tj_oNMM_jRmmX9tt
Nice livestream, Heath. Enjoyed it. 😎👍🏼
Glad you enjoyed it
I used to frequent this place so much as a young teeneager. It was my little escape from Bed-stuy Brooklyn. I will buy my HO scale R-68 subway train one day!!
It is definitely a unique spot.

I am glad I watched this one.
