Husker Du - Live at Buffalo State College, 9/28/1984
Просмотров 5425 лет назад
A super rare live recording of Husker Du when they played at Buffalo State College's assembly hall in autumn of 1984. I knew a tape of it existed, given that ThirdAv.com and several alumni who attended the college during the time stated as such, but nothing came to fruition. I've searched for roughly two years, coming up empty-handed until now. Given that the campus radio station I'm a member, ...

As much as I love this track and Dave Pirnier of Soul Asylum yelling "fuck you" at the Minneapolis Police, it unfortunately borders the line of non-radio friendly. All I've done to this track is cut out the intro up to the count-in. So for any DJs hesitant of playing this great track over the airwaves, feel free to do so now. This is track four of the live Joy Division album "Preston 28 February 1980", which was recorded at The Warehouse nightclub. The recording of this was mired with problems. I've tried to nail them down but still they move and they won't show their faces and I can't grab the arms coming from the hands that blind my sight to remove the ceremonial mask Cripple me Never move Haloed eyes Move (Perfect this time I can't move I want to move move please move) Not to shake what they say I cannot see but it touches me And with baited hands and baited lines churn my waters to bring about my truth and in the end I can't see your eyes and I can never justify the way my eyes never moved to meet yours I can never justify why I couldn't see you why I've never been able to see you I've never been able to see why can't I see? why can't my eyes move? (I just couldn't see through my self) Never move Haloed eyes

What does it mean to you..? That what u should figure out. Quite agree alot of early emo stuff seems like it came out of the abstract subconscious and archtypal relationships beyond the ordinary relationships that characterise later dumbed down boy girl indie emo.. To me this song is aboit being crippled by trauma and conditioning (the ceremonial mask..) how it prevents us from letting us see a pure love offering of another person.. The eyes refer to the heart.. It never moving out of its traumatised state and losing the redemption on offer.. The regret that follows ehen you lost that person.or even knowing that your heart needs to move out of this state when you're with that person but not being able to..

I found this on Soulseek through a complete shot in the dark. I searched for Husker Du Buffalo 1984 just out of curiosity and lo and behold this came up. Wasn't expecting it, as I was nearly certain this recording was lost to the annals of time. I talked to alumni from the 80's, searched the filing cabinets of WBNY for a tape, and scoured through less-than-savory mp3 sites. All yielded nothing until I tried Soulseek. I find it absolutely incredible that the show was arranged same day, especially given border troubles. Probably explains why the only flier I could find from this show was sharpie on construction paper whereas all the other flyers from this tour were more ornate. Thank you for sharing this with me, Phillip. I greatly appreciate it.

Same problem too. Dell XPS 9343 13" laptop. Out of warranty. It worked perfectly for several years up until the night of the change to daylight savings time. The next morning, would not boot. Lights on the power button and keyboard came on, but nothing else. I tried the instructions by some of the posters: removed the back cover, disconnected CMOS battery and main battery. Held the power button down for more than 30 seconds. Reconnect. If you hold the "D" key and power button simultaneously, it would go through the series of colored screens but would not boot. All combinations of the power buttons and function keys, and the control/shift/windows etc. would not work. Tried multiple times but no luck. Thought I'd try it one last time. before we pulled the SSD and gave up. I left the computer with both the CMOS and main battery unplugged for about 24 hours. Checked the CMOS battery with a multimeter and it had 3.1V. So that seemed ok. Held the power button down for a minute or so with everything unplugged. This time, after reconnecting the batteries, and pressing the power button, it seemed different. The light on the power button would come on for a few seconds then go off. Then come back on again for a few seconds and go off. I started repeatedly pressing the function keys (F1, F2, F10, and F12) since I couldn't recall which one entered the BIOS setup. Then suddenly I got the Dell splash screen. Success! There was a tiny message in the upper right corner saying to press F12 to enter the BIOS setup. I did that but failed to change the date/time before exiting. But it didn't seem matter. It exited and booted normally. After it booted, we quickly connected an external hard drive to back it up. So if none of the suggestions below work, try leaving everything unplugged for 24 hours and try again. By the way, you'll need a T6 torx screwdriver to remove the back cover screws plus a Phillips for the little cover. The case is also held in place with clips, so you'll need to take care to work around the edge with a plastic tool to unsnap the clibs. After you get the back off, It is not necessary to remove the main battery. You can ease off the battery connector without removing the battery. I had trouble removing one of the battery Phillips head screws and then realized it didn't need to be removed. Don't know if this will be a long term solution, but so far so good.

Just had the issue last week (XPS 13 2017 model), been comparing several videos on this issue and this is how i made it work: - Remove charger the laptop - Open your laptop (remove the screw under the XPS logo, - Disconnect the battery connector and the cmos battery - after this push power button for 30 seconds - Reconnect the cmos battery - Reconnect the Battery connector - Press the D key in the Keyboard while you press the Power Button - Once the colors stop flashing, press the F10 (Or F12) key and press the Power Button - You should get a screen on the BIOS telling you that the date in incorrect - Update the Date on the BIOS and validate - The PC will reboot and it will now work properly :)

I just figured this out myself. I did the same as Ferguson. Removed the battery, unplugged the CMOS battery for 30 seconds, reinstalled both, and then tried to power up. It did not do it from the start. I then tried holding the D key on startup. This made the screen flash several colors and then sent me to BIOS. I had a BIOS error. I clicked BIOS Setup and the time was not correct. I corrected the time and exited. Upon next startup, Windows opened. I hope this helps as well.

typical problem, mostly caused by the cmos battery connection, unplug main battery, then cmos battery, plug back in, open and press f12, you should see keyboard lights up and led blinks yellow to white, press power button 1 or 2 times, you should see screen change shade, and eventually open, it helps to keep a spare cmos battery in your bag too

I had the same problem and i sent the link of this video to the Dell India team. They replaced the motherboard within 2 days for free since my laptop was under warranty but i was very disappointed with the fact that a problem occured within just 4 months of buying the laptop. By the way in india dell laptops cost double the price at which they are sold in America so its a very expensive laptop. I was quite happy with the service though. I was using lenovo y500 before this and it worked for 5 years straight without giving any problems and without ever having to contact the service center or support team. Its just hard to beleive a laptop would run completley fine without giving any problems for 5 years straight now.
