How to Sew the Hem on Cargo Pants_ Beginner's Guide
Просмотров 8642 года назад
This is fairly normal method of sewing hem. The only difficulty is that the machine you use should be able to run over the bulky parts with ease without getting stuck., which results to a few stitching issues. The finished width that I chose is 1/2 inch (12 mm). Thus, the seam allowance I allotted is 1 inch (2.5 cm). You may want to make the width wider. But in my opinion, a finished width of 1...

This is a 2-piece waistband similar to the trousers/slacks type of waistband. Similar but not exactly the same. The lining (the inside part the touches the body) has bias tape added, to prevent fraying and also to add style. The width of the waistband is 1 1/2 inches (4 cm). This width measurement is pretty standard. The length, as rule of thumb, for me at least, is Length plus 3 inches (7.6 cm...
How to Sew the Inseam and the Center Back of Cargo Pants_Beginner's Guide
Просмотров 3762 года назад
I use a single stitching to do the center back seam. Then I sew a single topstitching on the outside. This technique is more like the one done on the plain trousers aka slacks. The inseam is done with a single row of stitching. The crotch area was reinforced with two more short run of stitching. #jeans #sewing
Hoq to Sew a Cellphone Pocket Pocket on Cargo Pants_Beginner's Guide

This"little pocket" just below the expandable cargo pocket is not usually what you'll find in cargo pants. I thought it might be a good idea. It could be used as a smartphone pocket. So I called it a smartphone pocket. I ask my son-in-law if he likes the idea. He says "Yes, it's cool". BTW, this cargo pants I am making is for him. #sewing #jeans #pants #pocket #cellphone

How to Sew Pocket and Pocket Cover on Cargo Pants_Beginner's Guide
Просмотров 2062 года назад
Here I am sewing the cargo pocket and its cover to the side of the pants. I don't have any set rules that I follow when it comes to placing the side pocket. I try to achieve some balance when it comes to side pocket placing. I make sure that I don't accidentally stitch the front pocket bag, so I fold the pocket bag beforehand and secure it with clips. I use single stitching on all sides. The to...
How to Prepare the Pocket of Cargo Pants _ For Beginners

The cargo pants are always associated with the expandable side pockets. Here, I am preparing one of the expandable side pockets. When in folded form the width is 6 inches. (15.2 cm). When unfolded, it's 9 1/2 inches plus seam allowances. I am giving it a single stitching on the sides, but I will be reinforcing the corners with bartacking.. The cover has the same width as the pocket. I will add ...
How to Sew the Outside Seam on Cargo Pants _ For Beginners
Просмотров 2942 года назад
I am sewing the outside seam before the inside seam which is the opposite of what I do with the regular jeans, wherein I join/sew the inside seam first. Also different in this procedure is that I am joining the front and back bodices, unlike the with the jeans'process wherein I join the 2 fronts and attach the joint fronts ton the joint backs. This procedure is similar, with some minor differen...

Can you explain the seam allowances you used for the yoke and for the down part?
Thank you for sharing.
Hi, a voiced commentary would be more helpful than the Debussy.

Hi, im currently sewing a pair of jeans for my friend, I just wanted to ask about the part of the jeans where the center front and the center back meets, it is really thick! (Like 16 layers of thick denim) and I have difficulty sewing this part, do you have any suggestions for how to make it easier to sew? (I know you hammered it a bit) but does technique like grading the seam allowance works? Much thanks.
Nice video, how would one do the front fly's flat felled seam centered as well?
GOOD
Thank you, I have watched your video many times to copy your seams 😊
Nice tuturial
😊
Amanzingly clear ❤
Thank you! The clearest explanation and method.
Thank you! May I ask what machine you're using?
Very nice job!
Best video I've found yet! Thank you! Please do more :)
Obrigado por todos os seus vídeos. Acabamentos muito bons e profissional com a maquina reta. Deus o abençõe. O Brasil agradece🙏

Thank you so much I need this tutorial!!
where can I buy that hole making tool thanks.
Not bad at all!! Thank you. I'm going to try my first today.
great video, do you have a pattern?
What were the measurements in the beginning.

Hard to hear you through the music. Very good demo tho
Great video thank you for taking the time to make and share.
I love your technique, and skill. A very helpful tutorial, thank you!
What brand is your machine? Stitches look very nice.
So glad i found your channel
I'm glad you found it. I'm sorry I haven't added any video yet. I will. I haven't set up my stuff yet. Lol 😆
Thank you
You're welcome
thank you for this! made it so much simpler than the way i was doing it. what kind of foot do you have on your machine?
Thank you. Re: foot, I use a variety of feet. I am a fan of feet with guides, whether they be metal or plastic. They come in different guide sizes. Please check your favourite online store, and surely you'll find one or two.
@@lolopeetsewstudio thank you. i have a small collection myself. this one in this particular video looks kinf like it walks but also nothing like the walking foot i have. it looks like it would be very precise.
Hi, I use almost same technique, 8mm allowance front and 18mm back and I start sewing at the crotch to be sure front and back are aligned then I press and use singer double needle with edge foot to topstitch
Oh cool. Great technique. The result I'm sure is awesome.
would you say the walking foot makes this much easier? would love to see you redo this video with a normal single needle
Yes, the walking foot machine makes this procedure a bit easier. The bumps are easier to sew on over. The regular industrial lockstitch machine will suffice, but always be wary of the bump/joint. Take it easy and go really slowly, otherwise you'll end up with either a bent or snapped needle. Sometimes threads might form a "towel" bunch underneath the layers of fabric. I use 18 gauge (or higher) needles for any thick material.
Where's the audio? Hard to know what you're doing without it.
What a good idea for stitching a waistband on jeans this is a.much easier method. Thank you for taking the time to do it.
I'm glad I could help even a bit.
I'm doing this by hand and wasn't sure if I could do it properly on a curved piece of fabric, thanks to this tutorial I know it's possible. Thank you! Hopefully it goes well for me considering I'm using denim haha 😂 😂 😂
I'm sure you can do it. Sometimes it takes two or more tries. Sometimes it takes just one. All the best.
hey thank u for posting all of ur tutorials your such a good teacher what presser foots do you use most often?
Thank you. I use the presser foot P351K on a regular basis, on thin to medium thick fabrics.
As a male that suddenly got into sewing, Its hard to find videos/guides on sewing "man stuff" Most of the time I dismantle and study old cloths I got and try to learn tecnics etc. Current jacket Im trying to copy has a 2 panel arm and some kind of "bias" patch to cover it all up, but my brain get overloaded when trying to think about how to attach lining to it all.
I am (we are) glad you've gotten into sewing. Your approach to learning is similar to what I've employed myself. At the time I was learning, there was no YT. No social media. I had no books to learn off from. But, I had a relative and friends who gave me tips. Not complete lessons though. That's why my knowledge is so limited. Nonetheless, their contributions were important. I encourage you to practise what you've learned so far, and often. You'll get better that way.
No entiendo el inglés, pero por la explicación visual he logrado aprender a usar estos pies prensatelas. Saludos desde Nicaragua

Hello din
Beautiful work, thank you for your video.
Thank you for your appreciation.
pfaff 463
Thanks for answering, I would like to know how to assemble the stitch length regulating wheel of the pfaff machine, since my machine continues to give me a very finite stitch and there is no difference I put in 2.5 or 4.5 is always the same, as it is installed correctly Currently there is no information or video that explains the correct installation of such a wheel. It would be a great contribution this information since I have seen the same request for information I thank you in advance for your valuable help, not before congratulating you for the quality of video and teaching that your videos provide.
No worries. Now I know what you mean. And also, thank you for your kind words. Anyway, it might be difficult to give you information just through words. It's better, in my opinion, with pictures and/or videos. I am planning on making a video related to your question, but I can't at the moment. It's because I am on a long vacation and away from my workshop. The soonest I could do it , might be in December. I am so sorry.
Hola, How the pfaff 463 stitch wheel mechanism should be assembled,
I'd really like to give you a correct answer, but first, please give me more information. I feel I can give you assistance if I get more info.
Beautiful Jeans 👖 ❤you made, Masterwork 👏👏👏👍 and i like the orange fabric 😍
Thank you so much.
@lolo peet . In terms of threads. I'm using a Perma Core tkt 36 (tex 80) What thread size should I use for my looping thread? I've also been told to use tkt 27/25 (tex 100/105) for my denim jeans with tkt 50 looper thread. Is that accurate?
Experiment with different types, thicknesses, colours and brands of threads. With experimentations come a few issues, so be ready to do some adjustments on the top (tension regulator, thread guides) and bottom thread (bobbin tension).

I would just experiment with different types and thicknesses. Sometimes the rules don't apply to certain fabrics or materials. You'll be doing a few adjustments with upper and lower tensions, eventually. I always do.
@@lolopeetsewstudio For tour stretch denim (98% cotton 2% elastane) do I need a ballpoint needle to sew or a round point needle?
Four stretchy materials, I always use ballpoints. FYI, I started using ballpoints a while ago, on any type of fabric. I liked the results.
@@lolopeetsewstudio @lolo peet Hi. A bobbin question I'm using tex 40 bobbin thread for my tex 80 topstitch thread on a twin needle machine. For the life of me the bobbin thread keep cutting off and won't continously lockstitch with topstitch thread. I'll get a few stitches in before the topstitch thread stop looping and I have to open up the machine constantly to pull the bobbin thread through the slots, groves and spring over and over to get the top thread to catch bobbin thread. Any advice?
@@IEXECUTIVE Re: bobbin thread take-up. Tips: Check your needle positioning. Replace needle with a bigger number (bigger needle eye). Adjust, re-adjust upper thread tension. Adjust, re-adjust bobbin thread tension. Switch to a thread with higher tex. At least 45. Switch upper thread to a lower tex. T69/70? Check upper thread routing/guides. Check bobbin case insertion into the bobbin case receptor. Check for looseness/improper seating. Hope you solve your issues.
what is your machine name and serie ?
It's a Consew. Premier series. P1206RB.

I have no rules really when it comes to what thread thickness to use for the top or the bobbin. For me as long as 1. It looks good. 2. It doesn't give me any stitch problems.
