Flying over some south Texas farmland in a Piper PA-18 Supercub late one afternoon. I like how the struts say "NO STEP" ... as if you need the warning! (BTW... turn your sound down! The audio is LOUD!)

Have you ever seen a band with great albums that they couldn't reproduce live? The Thunderbirds are the opposite. The studio and MTV didn't do them justice. They were always a better live band---one of the best.

It's not really holding back. He's doing no more or no less than needed to accentuate the song. Him playing rhythm for himself is crazy. Stevie's putting it in terms for people that are only talking about his ability to shred. He's saying it's not due to ineptitude. Their approach was different but the talent was equal.

It seems nowadays, with any Jimmie Vaughan clip on Instagram, there are loads of comments about how he’s a boring player, or how they don’t get why he’s revered, or how he can’t hold a candle to his brother… what a bunch of clueless idiots who haven’t bothered to look deeper or further. In his heyday, JLV was THE man. He had the rhythm, the perfectly tasteful yet still ripping leads, the tone, the style, the baddest cool-factor, and on and on. If anyone can’t see his immense talent or influence, then they simply aren’t looking, or they lack the soul or wisdom to know it when they see it. God bless Jimmie Vaughan and the Texas roots that nurtured him. And to those other fools, enjoy your John Mayer records.
Jimmie was always a rarity. Him playing lead and then rhythm for himself at the same time is insane. The fact he totally reinvented himself and became a completely different player is a feat very few can pull off-- which he did. The only people that complain don't understand music. The Vaughan brothers were two ridiculously talented but very different players. It's sad for those who don't get it-- but comparing the two is like comparing oranges to spaghetti. Lol Enjoy your John Mayer records killed me. 😂😂😂 I cannot stomach the guy and people will argue you down or say you're just hating. I said once to me it felt like a group of men at Harvard University looked at blues music, created a formula, taught a class on it and out pops John Mayer.
