Hey! Did you feel you got a lot of sun in either of your room choices?
So the sun sets over by beach houses 1-6, so you’d have afternoon, evening sun. The rooftop we had in building 7, the sun was over of us all day, but we went in July and some shade after 3?
How would you compare EEC and EOB? Can’t decide!! We are going just us two and not with friends this time and find we gravitate to beach more when we are going without friends. We have a beach house 1st floor reserved at EOB but the beachfront HMoon RRT is available at EEC!
If you are looking for more isolated beach time/private and quiet, I would stick with EOB. If you’re looking for a deeper beach with rows of lounges, EEC would be better! We personally overall enjoy EOB better than EEC, but both are great!

Can you do a video (or just describe here) why you liked the beach house over the rooftop suites with the plunge pool? I heard the imperial suites are nice.
So I actually liked both! But what was nice about the beach house was just being able to walk out to the beach from the back patio. But I dont think I would like the 2nd floor of the beach house, only the first floor. But what I liked about the rooftop was the aerial view. Plus the room was much larger than the beach house. Two completely separate rooms (living and bedroom)

Hello I was really considering the honeymoon suit with the top Terrace and plunge pool. Do you have any recommendations on that specific room?
the biggest thing with those suites are you get an extra large rooftop terrace

If you waste your time and money here, you'll burn through it. My wife and I had to leave our honeymoon early with food poisoning early with no responsibility from the hotel. [1/5] Not what you see advertised. AI reviews on Google be warned. Excellence El Carmen wasn't up to their advertised standards. This is a statement I would make even if my wife and I didn't go home early from our honeymoon with food poisoning. Beware the overwhelmingly positive reviews on Google make no sense if you read them. At worst: Vacationing here has a high chance of getting you sick. Not just upset stomach sick, but getting no sleep because of the constant throwing up, aches and diarrhea. The resort will not refund you for any unused portions of your stay. No matter what is promised to you, you will never see a refund. So you will have to choose between staying and eating the food that almost put you in a Punta Cana hospital, or leaving and never seeing the money again. There are several others with similar experiences recently, and throughout the years. They are all correct. If you're planning your vacation here, understand there is a higher than you think percent chance you get sick. At best: The beach will be nice to lay out at and the water will be clear, but you will get solicited by strangers on the beach. They are nice and will not bother you if you say no, but they will not stop coming. The weather is amazing if you're from the Northeast US like me, but it will rain for several hours each day without fail if you're going most months of the year. While you're inside waiting for the rain to go, you can check out the mold-smelling so-so quality rooms, sample the food that might make you sick (there are lots of options), drink, or even check out the sports bar. The sports bar has a row of TVs that play the same illegal streaming sites I could access from my couch, with matching quality. Thanks for your tip about the beach house. My wife and I are planning on going next month (hope the hurricane doesn't mess everything up) and have booked a beach house so hope to get 1 - 6!

No you don’t have to reserve them! Free to use! They are new this year!
whats tipping like there? Not a big fan of having to tip every time I want a drink
So I would say most people did like a $1 per drink, but if we stayed at one area we’d tip them at the end a $10 or something. Most people prob do $3-5 for breakfast, $5 for lunch, and $10 for dinner.
So stay home.
I really like your video. Informative and great views. I do find the music to be a bit too loud. A couple of times I couldn't understand what you were saying due to the music. Maybe that is just me, though.

Question: we noticed that EOB does not use wrist bands, so how does the resort distinguish who is excellence club and who is not?
Based on your room number. Excellence Club level rooms are in certain buildings. So everywhere you go, they ask for your room number.

Nothing distinguishes you as an excellence club member. No one asked for our room number at the facilities tailored to club members. No attendants to help. Workers seem unhappy. Some were nice but most of them just seemed so overworked and underpaid. This place was truly disappointing. You’re better off spending less money is a more affordable resort. The excellence club rooms was a waste of money! Very dirty, musty smelling rooms with flies everywhere. We were served breakfast in dirty cups and plates this morning. Food is always cold.

I also recently stayed here and it's by far the worst Excellence resort I've been to. The service was absolutely the worst and the Excellence club is not worth it here. I was greatly disappointed after visiting Mexico Playa Mujeres and the DR Punta Canta, both are far experiences in every aspect!

@@lauracutts6759 We had a beachfront beach house (1st floor), previously we stayed in a rooftop terrace suite with plunge pool. Both are great options! I'm also a travel agent, so let me know if you need any help! Excellence resorts are my favorite!

Heading to El Carmen in November. We have visited the other 4 locations. Rivera Maya was disappointing, hot tub wasn’t hot and we went in February so it was a bit chilly, just seemed rundown to us. Love the food, rooms are nice and clean. First time doing excellence club so we are looking forward to it. It’s very laid back vibe, not a party place. Which I really don’t want to be with young adults puking in the pool.

Thank you for the video! I'm going here for my honeymoon in July and couldn't be more excited! How exactly do the dining options work, do you just go in and grab/order what you'd like? And is there a limit to how many restaurants you go to in a day?
No reservations required for dining (except if you want to do Hibachi, make reservation at check in), just show up. Not usually a wait, but could be a small wait getting into the more prime hours of 7-9pm. Most places are sit down, so they'll get a table for you.

I didn’t! But I’ve heard good things about it! If you want to do it, make sure you make a reservation when you check in.
Do you like EPM or EEC better?
I would say I like EPM better, but if you want to go with other couples or groups, EEC would be better for that! Both are great though!

It is Adults Only. But Finest Punta Cana is an Excellence Brand Family Resort. It is right next door.

Are sauna and hydrotherapy pools included or are they extra? Do the bathrooms in the suites have doors ?
All the sauna and hydrotherapy pools at the spa are extra UNLESS you book an Excellence Club level room, then you get a free hydrotherapy session during your stay. The bathrooms do not have doors on them. The toilet area does.

Thank you for the video! My wife and I are going for our one year anniversary next month 🥰 and I heard a lot of people mention the rooms were warm and AC felt to not work … did you experience this?
Our room wasn't ever warm. One of our friend's room was though. Just ask your concierge for a fan, once they brought that for them, it was perfect!

Very nice complete tour of the Excellence El Carmen. We're booked for our anniversary for October but the excellence Club rooms are not available any more. We want to experience the amenities of the club member rooms. Any suggestion?
Unfortunately you can't use any of the club amenities without a club level room. Keep watching to see if any availability comes up and you can switch. Otherwise, you will still have a wonderful time without the club level!
We've just made our reservations for Excellence Club Beachfront Honeymoon Two-Story Rooftop Terrace Suite with Plunge Pool. Any ideas for things to do outside of resort ?
You'll love it! We didn't go off the resort, we did have friends who did a deep sea fishing tour and caught some tuna. They were able to bring it back to the resort and one of the restaurants cooked it for them. I dont think DR has as many things to do off resorts as some other islands.
Boring resort food subpar rooms nice beach alright best restaurant is the French one way better resorts in the dr have been to almost every single resort go if your looking for low key not much happening besides the shows and quite relaxing vibe.

what is the difference from excellance el carmen and excellance punta cana are they e next to each other and can you go to restaurants at either property
They are right down the beach from each other, but no you can't use the facilities at both, just the one you are staying at. But they have most of the same restaurants at each resort. El Carmen is a bit newer and more modern. Punta Cana has a more traditional look. I haven't been to Punta Cana one yet, but have heard great things about it as well.
