Hanwell Zoo is a 5 minute walk from my house.Although it's a tiny zoo you can walk round in less than 30 minutes,it's quaint way to pass the time,and worth a flying visit. My only draw,was the butterfly hut.Theres only a single door and a thin veil of strips,so if a a careless visitor leaves the door open,butterflies escape. I had to catch and return a Blue Morpho once,.And when i mentioned this at the entrance,i was met with an indifferent shrug and 'we can breed more'

Haggis is absolutely beautiful. I would say however that your first time trying Haggis you should have the traditional meal which is haggis, neeps and tatties with peppercorn sauce (usually you wouldn’t have peppercorn sauce, it became popular years later) as we’d have it in school as children for Robert Burns Day but you wouldn’t have it with peppercorn sauce but damn I wish they had as it goes so well with the dish, along side your food you’d also get a nice cold glass of Irn Bru to wash it down. All the children would wear red tartan for the day and we’d have to recite poems from Robert Burns like ‘address to the Haggis’ 😂 ah the memories makes me feel so old 👵
