As much as I love B5 and the plotline of the three, I think DS9 did a better job of creating the feeling of not only destiny but real spiritual intervention with the fact you find out in epsode 'Shadows And Symbols' (S07E02) that the wormhole aliens actually caused Sisko's parents to meet so that he would be born.
Even better, they only did that because he was the one who they met in the wormhole back in the first episode. He was the one that found and explained linear time to them, so they made sure he was born to be there to do it. From a purely pragmatic view, there IS no destiny in DS9. It's not "He was foretold to be here, and here he is", it's "He is here, and so he was foretold of". Even the warnings they give him, the penances they force on him (such as Jadzia's encounter in the temple with Dukat) are just them knowing what happens from an "outside" perspective on time. It was never fate. It just was, and is, and will be.
@@VisitorAtHome No, then you have the chicken and the egg problem. If your right then he couldn't be there to find them in the wormhole if they didn't first take steps to cause him to be born. That's why he was the Emissary, it was the reason they caused his birth, and why they told him not to marry Cassidy. They knew he had a destiny. They specifically say it in the last episode, that it was the reason they kept him with them. They said he needed to rest because there was something that was supposed to happen in the future that he would be needed for. I assume the writers of the show were told they could complete the story ark in a movie, why else would they end the series like that, but the movie never happened. As much as I love DS9 and still think it's the best out of all the Star Trek series because of the writing and character development, I hate the fact that it basically ended on a cliffhanger because Paramount never let them finish the story and now it's too late because so many of the cast members have died.

It’s too bad, Cantus was replaced by Jamdolin in the rebooted series Back to the Rock In 2022.
An interesting detail. The time travel system is automatic, yet Sinclair is in a cocoon, so who is piloting B4 back in time? Zathras.
I like to imagine Red’s reaction at 1:37 was also Karen Prell’s reaction and that she improvised the dirty otter lines 😂🤣

Every great human story has a fool that sees and understands. Every great human king, or queen, has a fool that grounds them, that tells them the Truth, something even their closest aide or sycophant won't, or fears to, and every great human king, or queen, is accounted wise if they listen. In human terms, that is. Which is why G-d chooses that which the world accounts as 'foolish' to confound 'the wise'. B5 uses a lot a Biblical imagery in it's story arc. Or didn't you realise that?
Faith and reason are the shoes on your feet. Also, I love your writing style. Never met anyone else who dashes the o, outside of certain Jewish traditions.
God is imaginary. I would hope by the 23rd century we would have learned that by now.

In Cantus' first episode, he teamed up with Red. In his second appreance, he teamed up with Mokey and in his last three appearances, he teamed up with Gobo. If Cantus ever decided to team up with a fourth member of The Fraggle Five, I think Wembley would've most likely have been next and probably that would've been about it I guess.

b5 wasn't cancelled. JMS had a 5 year story to tell and was more or less allowed to tell it. If you want to know what would have come next, he actually wrote out the storyline for the previous millennium and next millennium between the 5 year arc of B5 so he'd have stuff to refer to.

It's hinted at in the show. IIRC David will be claimed by one of the Drakh Keepers on the birthday Londo advises them to give him the urn that contains the Keeper,, and leading to Delenn and John being on Centauri Prime when the Centauri rebel, and the Drakh ignite the weapons underneath Centauri Prime. However, Vir and the rebellion,, with the aid of G'Kar and the Rangers are able to topple the Centauri government and drive the Drakh off-world.
