You give me HOPE! I started from the bottom-13 years as a caregiver and CNA in a well-known hospital. I then advanced to work as an LVN for 2 years, but the demands of that role became overwhelming-I was responsible for passing medications to 55-62 patients daily, with only two weeks of training as a new nurse. When COVID-19 hit, the workload and stress intensified, and I ultimately decided to leave. Despite the challenges, I was determined to move forward and pursued my RN through an accelerated program. I passed the school exit exam and the NCLEX on my first attempt, securing a nurse residency position with a $25,000 bonus. However, now, just two weeks into the residency, I’m struggling. My training has focused more on documentation and charting than on actual patient care, and everything is strictly timed, which constantly makes me feel behind. I’m beginning to question whether the hospital environment aligns with my values and goals in nursing. Although I’ve been told that working in med-surg or acute care is essential to be considered a "real nurse," my heart and mind aren’t convinced this is the right path for me.

Amazing video. - I have 4 years med surg inpatient experience. (2 years current, 2 years was from 2016) - I have almost 2 years experience in UM/UR (1 yr 9 months to be exact: 7 months in appeals, 1yr 2 mo inpatient stay review) This year I plan to get my CMSRN (medsurg cert) it might help with CDI application (?) you think? And from what I gather in the video, the ACDIS CDI apprenticeship is helpful too. And am I correct in my understanding that one doesnt need any CDI experience for the CDIP cert? So maybe that is something I can work on too. Then my ultimate goal is really to land a RN CDI position mid to late 2025 or maybe 2026 🙏🙏🙏 I was thinking of getting a CCS cert but … will it really be necessary or the CDIP and ACDIS CDI apprenticeship be enough?

I am an CVICU nurse with 17 years critical care and home health experience, want to make the transition but all the job postings ask either CDI experience or/and certification, but you can’t not get certified unless you have experience! How to start then ? Without taking a huge pay cut

So I took a look at the website linked in your channel bio, and honestly I'm willing to bet that hospitals probably aren't trying to do business with remote nurses, or have their nurses attempt to transition to remote work, which is valid given there is only so much you can do remotely. I doubt there is any malice behind it.

So, let me see if I understand this correctly. A hospital blocks your site on their computers. You have given no context as to WHAT resources you offer, but since it is a hospital I assume that you produce something for medicine. However, now you are staring blankly at the screen, lip-synching a bad song, which makes me think that whatever you are producing is probably not something that medical staff ON DUTY should be bothering with and this bothers you. GFC, no business has to allow sites on their computers and if this is a normal thought process for you, I really hope that you NEVER actually interact with anyone, let alone patients or medical staff.

Should they be accessing this from /work/ anyway? Shouldn't they be working?

Could look into the hospitals if any of them are receiving any government funding, can use that as a leverage point that they can not block a site in less it violates a legal standard. Or the hospital has to give up state and federal funding (almost all hospitals get some from something).

Are those facilities blocking you to prevent losing staff?? That’s sad. One would think that the culture and environment would be supportive of staff satisfaction and professional growth!!
