9 Insider Tips: How to Navigate Your Music Career Effectively
This is super helpful. A guide for me on this path. Thank you so much
I see you used a Y-Strap on one of your videos! People, never let a chiropractor use a Y-Strap on you! Most chiropractors are totally against Y-Straps because of the dangers of them! I was one of the victims of the Y-Strap dangers! I ended up with bleeding on the brain from the injury the chiropractor did that caused my blood pressure to skyrocket up to where it caused me to have a brain aneurysm that also led to a stroke and had to be rushed to ICU. 😣
Thank you for your valuable info
Great points, well made!
Dude, I’ve been thinking about my future so much. I just finished my associates and art degree which is not gonna do anything for me in the job market as a musician, but I did learn a lot of valuable fundamentals and skills even became top of my class for jazz guitar I have all the necessary tools now to become a better musician, but I’ve been creating music since I was playing guitar at 15 years old 14 years ago you just opened my eyes and earned my subscription and I’m so happy that I found this video while working here eating my lunch at work you are doing Gods work, my friend and I appreciate you opening my eyes to more possibilities of how to make an income as a working musician with the brand deals. Thank you
Streaming ain't even in the conversation unless you're in the top 0.001% of artists. I only know about two people who can do it and they have millions of monthly listeners on Spotify ...... grim af.
All good points, great job.
Glad I clicked on your video. Thank you for your insight on this universal topic :)
As I'm going through the masterclass right now this is how I'm imagining my day will be when I'm done going through it :) There is tremendous amount of valuable information in this course and I cant wait to land my first placement. Thank you for sharing @TrevBarnes this beautiful day in the life of video, it was beautifully shot and very inspiring ❤
Beautiful energy Adil - with that kind of frequency your success is inevitable.
Watching the clock go from 5:45 to 6:31 while Tommy Zee speaks with passion about persevering to the next level with the right mindset = inspiring.
The Knowledge and insight are unmatched as usual. Thanks, Tommy
online scammers, undriven artist and dick head administrators!
Some good stuff here but wondering what the nebulous concept "the goosebumps" means.
"Goosebumps" are the sensation that you want to give to anyone you reach out to. It's the result of a level of passion, professionalism, and skill that makes anyone who comes across you and your work think "Oh, this person is different." It's about striving for excellence in everything you do!
Great advice, thanks.
Great video! I needed to see this!
What was the final fee? Would be informative if you guys revealed the real-life numbers when you do these types of videos from now on. Thanks
These are numbers we share with our students, but would rather not make too public.
Share your work Be open to feedback Believe in yourself and your skills Dont focus on the project, focus on the people! Thank you for this Tommy! I love your delivery and the way you communicate your thoughts 🧡
I LOVE YOU, Tommy!! ✨🤍✨
Great video Tommy, thanks!
This was very helpful! Thanks for sharing!
First!
This is dope, thanks for opening my eyes on this ❤️
Very cool ❤️
Hello Go to play music with you. Collaboration
heard it in the wild this morning! way to go Matteo :)
Your story shows exactly how this game works. It's a marathon. It's not a walk in the park. But if you love music and your craft - you will just keep moving daily and deliver magic when someone gives you shot. And to anyone reading this - Matteo's story can be your story too. Why not you?
I hope to enter this niche, in Brazil this niche seems to be dominated by very few companies I would like to work freelance, but it seems like I really need to join these companies
Isn’t this basically sync licensing? Wouldn’t it be the most lucrative to pitch to sync agents?
What was the reference?
Dude. Your keyboard is on fire.
the predictions concept section is awesome, completely created a whole new cognitive pathway with music interaction. Jam sessions with AI DAW, removing the 2D screen - it could be a virtual interface with AI Daw personification of whom ever you would prefer to jam with
as I continue to listen through this interview, I'm pretty interested in testing this new DAW style out. I'm not concerned about have 3rd VST's, often distractions with the creative flow. This feels more like the first stage of the creative idea process, building a pallet of ideas and potentially new arrangement idea's
Maybe Ai can be introduced into DAW as modular applications, where its not changing the infrastructure of the DAW but learn how its primary function is best utilised with each producer or artist
been producing for years, and wondered, when AI became more visible on the global front, will it be used to help with our work flow as producers. I'm sure this would keep the flow in creative arrangements, idea's, less tweeking, and maybe learning your personal signature style
Great video, Really got me thinking :) it must be awesome to be able to make a living from doing music!
I am your new subbie , come sub my channel , singer / songwriter. Thank you making the video .
Well who are the music production companies we need to reach out to?
Blah blah blah... I didn't imagine... blah blah blah... I could make money, everyone has money, give me money... blah blah blah. Look, I'm glad for you. How many people do you really think could do this themselves? It takes connections. You could have all the talent in the world but remain unknown. The six degrees of separation. I just got a job in a studio. It was offered to me because I'm autistic. They need someone who focuses in a maniacal way on details. I had purchased equipment from them, and kept contact with one of their salesmen. I feel like this whole thing is a big favor, and I feel like I'm owing to them. But without a connection they would still have a position opened and no one to fill it... and I would be doing some minimum wage job. I believe strongly that to be successful in anything you first have to have a spark. Then you have to keep feeding your passion, and work tirelessly. You should also be with people who are like you. Because those who aren't will discourage your efforts. And they won't offer any input that's constructive. Those who've raised their status in society owe it to their circle of friends and family. That's how it always works. No one pays themselves from the money printed from their own money press. So... work... and others will see you working... then connect with those who do what you want to do. That's what I understand from this video along with my own experiences. What I don't like is how many people online talk about get rich quick schemes. Imagine an entire generation that is getting into the work force, who are considering their prospects and are left disappointed. So many disheartened young people who believed that everything was possible and only required them to dream. You're talking about your own personal experiences. Ever hear that location is of paramount importance? Location, relative to a source. And to be a competent musician isn't simple. To be a great musician is uncommon. So many have come and gone as one-hit-wonders. How many Beatles have their been? Slapping a beat together is something most of us can do with spoons and a microphone. But what are the standards? Tell me what the standards are. Give me something to work with. If you speak in terms of childish dreams you're doing this new generation a huge disservice. Because they're already grasping for straws as their inheritance is being squandered and handed to anyone who's willing to buy it up.
Very inspirational video, thank you so much for putting it together and just giving insight into your daily routine as a composer with another full-time job. A truly inspiring journey and great motivator to see what can be done in one hour a day if it is utilized with intention. Thank you so much for sharing that journey and your daily routine, really reminds & motivates me to get to composing with more focus and intention.
I like this real-life , documentary style video.
Your routine is really impressive and motivates me to reduce some distractions to actually gain some time again of the day. Thank you for your input. I wish you all the best on that journey.
Well done! I’m in a similar position, as well as being a new dad. Its forced me to take a much more focused approach to how I work on music in order to actually get things done. For me, patience is the hardest part.
I too am in the master class, albeit prematurely as I am still working on my craft. And seeing as you are new in to this industry as well, do you see the potential for this to become an eventually a full time career?
Hey there! It's a very real possibility, especially as I continue to build my network and report with music production companies. There's a projects I've been fortunate enough to submit demos for that are literally worth half of my current salary, for a single project. The potential is 100% there, it just takes alot of focus, patience, and relentless resilience
@TrevBarnes Awesome! Thank you for the insight. Even though I'm in the course and seen the interviews of composer doing this full time, there's always this small thought in the back of mind that says "those are the more talented, lucky people. The actual possibility of making this a full time job is probably pretty slim." But you have reignited my drive to going and pursue this with your response so thank you for that as well. Btw, I liked this video and look forward to seeing you more often on here
@@joeypeterson3818 "small thought in the back of mind" Ignore that inner villain. it is a constant pain in the ass that leaves you alone after you push forward and finish your immediate task, then it's tries to come back for the next task. You got this! I deal with it, too.
Go Trev!
THE BEST
This is a well put together piece. I work 9-5 and make music and this is similar to my daily routine. I would like to look into making music for brands as well. Thanks for this!
Thank you for sharing your story, I can relate to every part of it. It gives me hope and motivation to keep going. Stay well!
You're a true inspiration Matteo! Thanks so much for sharing brother💛
