Просмотров 207 тыс.9 лет назад
Roller Door UK specialise in Roller Garage Doors and as such offer a range of high quality, made to measure, insulated Garage Doors at an affordable price. Available as either a DIY product or professionally installed. With this step-by-step guide you'll be able to fit your very own roller door.
Do you do spares?
HI, yes we do sell spare parts, please click on the following link www.rollerdooruk.online/shop
How do you memorise a control, there's 3 beeps and neither control works
how much to supply and fit that model shown in 2024 please
Fitted the door easily but instructions for external manual override kit is not easy to follow. Could you do a video for the instal please 🙏
Great video, Do you have the Blickdomi device for controlling blinds?
My garage is timber framed with only drywall studs available to mount the roller box to the wall. How much weight is carried by the side rails/runners? There is substantial timber on each side of the door space to provide much stronger fixing points.
I've fixed multiple Gliderol doors to new timber framed builds. It's pretty solid as long as you remember to fix the box itself in the top corners the weight is more downwards. Plus when the door is shut there is minimum weight on the guides or box 👍
Does an electric UK garage door consume a lot of electricity?
No.
Fitted door no problem but struggling to program there remotes ive followed the instructions but no joy. Any tips?
How does it fit inside the brick pillars
Why are you drilling 6” deep holes in the side walls if you are only using short screws? The door material looks quite thin. Would it prevent someone accessing to the garage if they ran at it and smashed into it with there shoulder? I would like to see some kind of design safe certification indicating this will withstand an attack.
No garage door is completely burglar proof but a roller door is locked by the motor so as far as insurance and stuff it's certified safe. I've personally installed nearly 200 Gliderol doors and the only one that got ripped out of its guides was because of a car reversing into it, I'm pretty sure no one can top that with a shoulder barge 🙂
I like to install the guides into the peg inserts on the header box then place onto wall then clamp off & level up then secure to wall (as shown in video) but then wired up motor with a rocket switch & lower bottom limit to its max with out the curtain fitted then once set up then fit curtain & set top limit
How much room above do you need for the header?
For a standard Insulated Gliderol door it's 300mm needed above the guide height if you go with a compact door you need 205mm. Hope that helps.
My opening is on a slight slope. There is a 4.5cm difference between the vertical height on the right and left. How do I compensate for this?
You can't. The safety mechanism of the door won't allow for that much of an angle, it would think there is an obstruction and revert to the top position

Could one continuous door spam 6m
Why are no rawl plugs needed in the holes?
Concrete screws are the way forward these days quick & easy with the correct sds pre drilled out hole
locking straps have just broken on mine I have received new ones - are these simple to remove and refit?
If some of the top straps are still in tack then raise door slightly & then lower onto some wooden blocks or the alike to make the curtain slack to be able to remove the straps & install new ones
1. do these insulated doors keep heat in and prevent water ingress ? 2. are they easy to break if a burglar tries kicking or cutting through it as i would imagine the steel shutters would be alot stronger?
It is a very thin aluminum slats so cutting or driving through them can be done in no time. Noisy though.
As far as insurance goes for burglars it's secured enough. As for water, depends how level your floor is, no garage door is water proof (not even sectionals and they have a nice rubber seal on the bottom panel)
Would it be possible to add another video highlighting how to fit the external manual release handle/lock please ?
Great Video - fitted mine in 3 hours today, great build quality and so easy to fit & operate. Make sure your drill holes on the vertical legs aren't too close to the top - leave at least 150mm to prevent the screw snagging on the inside connecting piece of the top box. One other thing - the upper and lower limit screws might be the wrong way round - a kind soul at the factory wrote on the inside of the box which really helped after we paid attention to it!
hi Jez did you come across any obstacles for it to take 3hrs to fit?
@@Suhail.Khan-24 if your dimensions are correct, not at all. We measured ours 25mm too long which we fixed with a hacksaw. You’ll also need to install a jumper wire in the electrical box which is a 2 minute job.
@@jc259707 thanks for the reply buddy.ah right i see. my EXACT opening is 3200mm -wopuld you order a 3210mm door just incase or exactly 3200?
@@Suhail.Khan-24 personally I would go for the exact dimensions. My error was in the vertical dimensions, we have a small ground threshold of 25mm which I accounted for but shouldn’t have. If you’re in any doubt ring Rollerdoor direct, they are very helpful indeed and really know their stuff (well they should shouldn’t they!!)
@@jc259707 did you order yours shorter than it shud have been? id imagine if you order 10mm longer just for safety should be fine thing is middle of my opening is 3210 but right at bottom next to floor is 3200mm
What type of hinges are on this model? I am looking for replacements for my garage door.
I used to fit doors years ago with my dad for Bolton gate company, big industrial rollers. how I wished we had cushy looking jobs like this lol
Hi, whats the price for a single garage door like 2.5 to 3 meters wide by 2.5 or so high?
Ricardo if you call 01482 345954 the office will be happy to help
on a roller shutter door like this how many times can you opn and close it before motor gets too hot and thermal cut out cuts in and stops the door
lee mclaughlin you get approximately 4 minutes run time before the thermal cut out but this depends on outside temperatures
Shutter Door Machine:ruclips.net/video/TuP517YvdLc/видео.html
Can you add a remote for these doors so they can be opened with a fob from outside,?
Thomas Woolliscroft yes you can
Please do a straight talk video. Not music. Apparently you did not do your homework. Signed very disappointed.
Joe Derue homework ?
If you can’t work out from the video how to install one of the easiest garage doors there is to install then you should just pay a fitter the £300 to do it for you. It’s probably safer and saves you screwing your hand to the guide, dropping the header on your head or messing up the limits 🙄
Is it not better to have the motor outside of the roller?
Scotia Jinker , not in this instance , the tubular motor offers better protection against entrapment when coupled with a box cover. If the motor was mounted externally this would make maintenance easier yes but also takes up more internal space. The tubular motor offers great running cycles so no need to maintain.
Mainly the industrial type doors will have external fitted motors
The hole in the top box is correct and required , 25 years fitting experience tells me the reason I couldn’t get a fix below in the tab is because it goes into a recessed lintel.
People iv been fitting rollers for over 10 year, DO NOT! Put the top fixing in the box like this, drill In the tab that is located lower & use a m8 wash
agree get a fixing in the stronger/thicker material i put 2 fixings each side of topbox both in the double skin/tab material - quite a weight to be relying on less than 1mm material thickness
Iv been fitting them alongside industrial roller shutters for 15 years and have never had a problem Fitting them there. What am I doing wrong?? Never had a problem either 🤷🏼♂️
@@leemclaughlin3927 there is no weight, it all goes down through the legs 🙈
@@YoYoZamolo thats true but heavy winds and security id be a lot happier going into thicker gauge tbh as the sheet steel is less than a mil thick and the double skin is there-so use it -simples really
@@leemclaughlin3927 but the header slots in to the legs by around 100mm. That would have to snap clean off both sides for the header to come down. But anyways many ways to skin a cat and all that just stay safe whilst fitting 👍
The box in the video is 205mm
What is the size of the door box?
What is the size of the head?
Yes it gets fixed in the top corners of the box once the door has been manually wound down.
Nice however does the roller box not get fixed overhead or did I miss something. Is that purely held up by the runners?
The legs lock into the header so it’s going nowhere, then you put one in each corner of the canopy top corners mate just to make sure
I hate it when installers don’t add additional screws into the top corners & you see the top box sagging 🤦🏻♂️
Thanks for the Video guys
Excellent video 👍🏻
