    There is no question, its just better, matching industry standard, heading right way, thumbs up. For us as a cad users or Max or Sketchup users on daily basis, it was just ridiculous that blender was not able to pick initial point exactly and recieving point exactly again. And yes, if you are talking about very simple shapes, not such a pain but more complicated shapes were just not as easy to handle. More control and avoiding guessing is always good move. If they skip pressing B, than it will be just perfect - like in autocad or sketchup etc. GOOD JOB BLENDER GUYS👍

    Showing how to get access to the different tools to adjust size, position, scale, rotation, etc. is SO USEFUL that if I don't end up getting what I needed out of this video it will have been well worth it. I've been having a great time with blender compared to other video editors but the lack of transform tools was the most annoying part; I'd say the only bad part other than occasional lag (Haven't had any crashes yet so it's infinitely better than anything else already)

    What about adding multiple snap points (b then a) including during slides in edit mesh mode? I can add the points but no one is explaining anywhere how to then _use_ those new points. Blender sucks at explaining their tools. Their official manuals never go into the detail we need and the devil is in the details. This is _very_ important because there is no way to snap outside of the (10) divisions already set according to the _starting point_ of a slide. You cannot snap a slide to the grid, for example, unless the slide _begins_ on a grid line. Being able to set points might solve this although maybe not. I can't tell because I can't use the damn tool.

    • @BlenderFrenzy
      @BlenderFrenzy 3 месяца назад

      Yeah, it seems that Edge Slide mode has it's own rules. For example it doesn't seem to adhere to the "Absolute Grid Snap" if you have that checked. If you want to snap to the grid during Edge Slide mode, press E (for Even) (This help tip appears at the top left corner under the menu bar after Edge Slide mode is activated. Not very intuitive or easy to spot, I agree.) If you want to know how the A-B snapping points work, check this video out from Blender: ruclips.net/video/4cehZJkW7MU/видео.htmlsi=ZwpyUxcG21XngS35&t=66 Although, in Blender 4.1, you have to first press B and select the vertex/edge you want to snap before setting any snapping points. I know it's a bit confusing, but I hope that helps!

    Thanks a million for addressing this """feature""" that imo is central to ""fully understanding"" rigid bodies in Blender Yet still isn't even mentioned by most (any other ??) "rigid body tutorials". This like a number of other things, with Blender gives me the impression that, to "put it politely", "conceptual design" is NOT their "strong suit" when it comes to developing Blender and it's features. Don't get me wrong Blender is absolutely Fantastic in many ways... but it's "conceptual design" is imho definitively NOT one of them. I think that unfortunately it's rather the opposite, there are many parts of that design that imho are a "dogs breakfast". And I fail when attempting to "repeat your procedure" now (2024.04.28 using Blender 4.1.1) Though I might be missing something. After having created a "named collection" using the "Ctrl+G-option" ((with No objects selected)) When I then select and try to add any objects to that (Rigid Body)Collection, that collection is NOT SHOWN in the list of existing collections. The only collections shown there are "the normal" View-Layer-Collections... So hence its impossible to "Move (or Link)" Objects" later" to an already existing "RigidBody-Collection" !!? :/ In short, the collections I create using "Ctrl+G" (or the equivalent menu choice) are NOT shown OR "available" anywhere (that I can find) Other than the "Scenes>>Rigidbodyworld>Collection-Field" where I can choose which collection that should be used for the "simulations" (( And Yes You can still choose "View Layer Collections" here, and the ""work as expected"" until they dont :/) So in order to add objects to a "RigidBody-Collection" they have to be "selected" while You create the collection ((using Ctrl+G)). Now just as if to confirm that this really is a "dogs breakfast design". You CAN REMOVE objects from a "RigidBody-collection", by using the "normal procedure" (Ctrl+Alt+G/Object>>Remove from collection), and in that list ALL collections that the selected object is "part of" are shown. Both "View-Layer-Collections" and "RigidBody-Collections"... But once You have removed them there is NOOO way to "add them back" (for the reasons explained above)) I can't lie, it's things like these that makes me wonder how the "design process" works at "Blender HQ"... Best regards.

    • @BlenderFrenzy

      Yeah, there are still a few "rusty" parts of Blender (design or otherwise), but ever since 2.8, it's improved by leaps and bounds. They've fixed and added so many things and it is starting to become a big player in the industry. Having said that, again, they haven't improved everything yet, and I think physics is one of those rusty parts. I could be mistaken, but I think they are going to be moving to a node-based physics system similar to geometry nodes. Either way, I'll have to take a look at your specific issue at a later time. If I find anything useful, I'll let you know. Happy Blending!

    Genuinely not sure how I missed this, but this is SUPER helpful. I do a lot of projects where I have the rendered animation and edit text/effects over it. With this I could do it in one fell swoop instead of rendering the animation, then rendering the sequence again just with text. I imagine performance might be an issue in editing but I'm excited to see if I can incorporate this in my workflow somehow. Thanks for covering it!

People who would like to see that happen might consider supporting those creators financially :) 3) Therefore, The Blendinator was built as a paid course. How would you hide a mouse courser on a video using blender 3.6? The video was part of a screen recording in which the courser landed up in the middle of the video.

    • @BlenderFrenzy
      @BlenderFrenzy 6 месяцев назад

      This is something that would extremely difficult to do, if not impossible. If it was in the corner, it would be much easier. But having it be in the middle of the screen means it's overlaying directly on top of everything happening on the screen. Even if you were to remove it, there would still display something in its place. You'd have to paint in the surrounding background for every frame if you wanted it to match. It would probably be much faster and more efficient to just grab another screen recording if you can. Otherwise there may be some AI software that could do such a thing. Hope you can get it solved!

    I'm somewhat new to Blender, but I've been playing around enough that this seems easy to do. However, I can't get my planes to behave. When I try to move vertices either in X or Y view, it's messing with the placement in the other view. Also, it seems to be creating new vertices when I'm just trying to move them, etc. Not sure whats going on....

    • @BlenderFrenzy
      @BlenderFrenzy 6 месяцев назад

      Switching back and forth between front and side views can be pretty tricky sometimes. Here are a couple things to try: 1) In Edit mode, occasionally select all your vertices and press M and then select merge by distance. This will merge any duplicate vertices that occupy the same space. (To avoid this you can turn auto merging on) 2) There's a difference between single and double tapping G to move vertices. Double tapping G will only slide the vertices along the existing mesh. This happened a lot to me when modeling the skull and I do address it at some point in the series (not sure exactly where). But if you don't want your vertices to move in both views, make sure to only single tap G to move. Other than that, I'm not sure how to diagnose further unless I can see the problem in action. Hope this helps!

      Haha, ah I see. I don't know why RUclips doesn't show people's actual name anymore, though. Now it only shows the @ handle. That's a little annoying.

      All this time I would avoid adding scene strips in the VSE because the solid view would mess up the materials. Thanks for this to both of you

      Thanks ! Have have been looking for this settings for weeks :D It's very usefull when the scene only contains a fullscreen plane to render a clip ^^
