Self Driving Car Learns to Drive
This video shows how a neural network can learn to navigate a track. There is a generation counter in the upper right. Each car that sets out to learn receives the same input signals to be able to make decisions. For each new generation, ten cars become modeled after the best performing car of the prior generation. What constitutes "best performing" can be dialed in and modified, but for the most part, it is based on how long a car survives without crashing and how far it has gotten along the track.
It isn't until the 30th generation that the AI learns to navigate the first right turn successfully. In the 33rd generation, the AI learns how to navigate the second turn. By the 46th generatio...

A Japanese-Style Scarf Joint - Kanawa Tsugi
Просмотров 6 тыс.3 года назад
I'm not gonna lie. This is going to be a long, boring video of me hacking away at a piece of wood. This is my first time cutting a scarf joint so I thought I would film the process. I had to replace a rotten beam under my house and the only way to fit it in was to cut it into two pieces and assemble it in place. This video starts with a few seconds showing the test fit. The remainder of the vid...

In this video, we build a picnic table from an eastern hemlock tree that had fallen over in the forest. We retrieve the logs, mill the lumber, and build the table. Oh, we also build a log arch in this video to help with our log retrievals. The table is largely based on the one built by Tom Silva on This Old House. Hopefully, we will get a few harvests that we can enjoy throughout the...
We Got New Chickens and We Build a New Coop and Run

We got five new chicks! They are super cute, but they are growing up fast so we have to build a new coop out of our old shed because they are too little to mix in with our older hens. We also build a new chicken run to give the little chicks a place to be outside but safe from predators.
Our Drive Home in Summer

Here is a quick video for anyone who lives in a big city who might be curious what it is like to drive home when you live on a dirt road in the outskirts of a small town. There was a lot of wind noise on the actual camera footage so I simply turned off...

@@sig124 thank you!
I tried growing kkaenip from seed but they started flowering and didn't grow much. Don't know what I did wrong.
Why do that when you have a perfectly good beam?
I had to replace a rotted beam under the house. The ends of the beam had tenons that went into mortises. Removing a rotted beam is easy. You just cut it and remove. But getting a new beam in its place is tough if you want to utilize the old mortises. That was the reason for cutting them in half - so i could insert each end into the mortises then reassemble once they were in position.
Nice! Beveling the end of the wedge so it does not split off when driving it in...yes?
Yes! You may not be able to tell but i put a bevel on the end exactly for that purpose.
Cool stove, do you ever cook with it?
Own/Owned many utility carts. And own the groundwork steel utility cart in this video. I needed a larger sized cart. And this was the biggest i could find. Went to my local tractor supply store. They didn't have any in stock , But said they could get me one delivered to my house for free. Usually they charge $100 for it to be shipped. Well it came and boy was i disappointed. Yes it looks almost exactly like the gorilla carts. But a closer inspection showed they used a thinner gauge steel throughout the build and they missed several spots where it should've been welded. And the areas that were welded looked like penguin having a seizure was the one who welded it. I had to go over a apply JB weld. Not saying gorilla carts are the best ever. But they are definitely better than groundworks. Another gripe i have was in 2023 they still want to use cotter pins instead of the better lynch pins.
I was curious because I guess there's one for sale for $25! near where my kid lives in ma, which I think I read that's where they were made
Thanks, my old frontier been kicking ass heating around 1800sqft of 1886 old farm house!!!! Haven't paid a dime for heat in 8yrs! Gotta love them old stoves !
I know this is an old video so hopefully you get this message/ comment, very curious because you're adding wood from the top into the flame!?? I'm an avid wood stove fan I love my wood stove I am super curious about this stove and if you've ever burned your hand putting a piece of wood in
It’s really hasn’t been a problem. Guess mainly because when I’m loading wood I’m not doing it when it’s a raging fire inside. Usually just adding wood when the previous load is getting close to embers. If it’s a particularly cold night and I’m trying to stay ahead of the stove getting cold, I’ll load wood when there is wood in there but you can reduce any big fire/flame risk by just stopping down the vents a minute before loading wood. It won’t have time to get back to a roaring fire in the time it takes me to load wood.
I recently bought a house with this same stove in it, and I've only singed the hair on my forearms, but that was from trying to position a piece of wood i dropped into a roaring fire. It's an amazing design, really. I was concerned about smoke escaping from the top when opened, but that's not an issue at all.
Will it pull over a really rocky beach well?
The wheels are big enough that it should allow you to pull it over a rocky beach, but less than optimal terrain will just require more pulling force. If you're pulling a light load of a couple hundred pounds - probably no problem. I have loaded my cart pretty full of freshly cut logs and it is possible to pull it by hand, but it's not easy. If you're pulling with an ATV or riding mower, it is no problem at all. I would have no concerns about its ability to handle the terrain - it's more a concern of how much effort it would take to actually pull the cart.
How does it compare to gorilla carts?
New Sub, make more videos. You got a good channel bro.
Awesome video, just what I was looking for, my Land is similar to yours. How much land do you have that you are hauling stuff around on?
Thanks! I have 54 acres of fairly hilly terrain with a few level areas here and there.
Please combine that with the under squinted
That is the same scarf that they have used in this country
What are the dimensions of the Tempwood II? I’m actually wanting dimensions for the Tempwood V, but all I can find is that it’s 4 in. smaller than the II in each direction. Please and thanks!
Mike Kim. I have a very old temp wood II stove that hasn’t been used since 1998. It’s been sitting in an old barn. It’s rusty and bricks have disintegrated. Can we chat?
I would be happy to talk with you. How can I get in touch with you?
What Red paint did you use to match the blower?
I don't remember the exact color. It was from a spray paint can that I picked up from Tractor Supply. That's all I remember. They have a bunch of colors that seem to be based on major brands like deere, massey ferguson, kubota, etc... I forget if I picked one of the major manufacturer colors or if i just eyeballed something close to the desired color.
I wish these carts have a steering wheel to control them so you can sit down.
FYI GroundWorks and Gorilla Carts are brands from the same parent company: Tricam Industries
My parents had one and it was great. It kept our old house warm. Now I'm running one and and one of my neighbors gave me a smaller tempwood that I'm thinking about repainting and running. These are great simple stoves.
did you have to put up anything to keep the deer and squirrels and other animals from eating the crops?
I noticed that you switched mowers , dark one to red one , just curious of why ?
How does the Toro do on the trail loaded?
How did the wood chips work out in the garden? I'm looking at the same machine used. have a lot of brush to chip and want to use it around raised beds for looks. If it worked as mulch i may do that too. Concern is robbing a lot of nitrogen. Thanks
After retiring, I began to explore Korean food. I find your thorough explanation of various vegetables exceptionally interesting as . I still feel quite lost when I visit my Korean Market.....nevertheless exploring the aisles and produce is quite fascinating. Might you still be active with this channel? I'd love to know more about your wife's kimchi recipe. All the best to you and your family. 🌻
@ Mike Kim what type of collar are you using to attach exhaust to stove pipe? I don't like how mine is currently set up, gets creosote drip. Also do you have a baffle for your exhaust outlet inside the stove? Been looking for someone who does so I can see how it attaches/works on the good ole temp wood ll
would love to see an update on these little fellas ❤
Is that gas & oil mix?
Regarding the larger 1400lb steel utility cart. There's a rather large elephant in the room that you don't address that most other garden cart reviewers jump right into because it's a large issue: the rubber tires (I'm being kind, they are more plastic on some carts than rubber). Every Chinese-made garden utility cart has dry rot issues with the tires within months, i.e., I bought a Harbor Freight hand truck and had to change the tires after a several months because they just fell apart. They were more plastic than rubber which is the Chinese way. I almost just bought the cheapest Harbor Freight steel garden cart but after seeing all the reviews about having to spent another $50 for real rubber ties it didn't seem like a better deal. If this is a 1400lb Gorilla brand re-badged cart how are your tires holding up after two years? Also, do they have inner tubes? Thanks for the review.
I have to admit the tires are not the greatest. But they do have inner tubes. I have gotten some flats and there is some significant cracking on the tires, but at this point, I've had the steel cart for over 4 years so it's not completely unexpected. I just use Slime tire sealant to deal with the flats and for the most part, that keeps them going. I know some people replace the tires with the solid tires, but I haven't had to go that route just yet.
As someone who has owned several utility carts , Yeah most will come with cheap pneumatic tires that appear to be stiff and have a more plastic feel. I generally swap the tires out with 13" solid rubber tires which isn't cheap.
Good job with your video. I do understand these are the only carts you’ve owned. But maybe you can shed a little light for me. I’m looking for a cart to haul rock, specifically those weighing at least a couple hundred pounds. I’m a rockhound. I’ll be pulling over uneven terrain and possibly for long distances. And more than likely I’ll have assistance. The size of your steel cart is what I’m looking at. Gorilla makes a poly that size as well. My concern with steel is the added weight. My concern of poly is it’s durability (thickness). My question to you is whether you think poly could handle big weights. Could you imagine having the larger poly and putting it through like you’re doing with your steel? Also, the undercarriage for both carts appear to be similar. My concern is with the plastic holding up. Hopefully this makes sense. Thanks.
There was a lot of wasted time looking at the yard and cutting trees. I think he should have concentrated on the subject which was the chipper shredder. But that's just my opinion get to the point and that's it. But it was nice to be able to fast forward past the unimportant info
How to get the ashes out of a Tempwood ll heater
There is a long handled scooper that makes this a fairly simple task.
@@mikekim5135 Thanks Mike, Do you know where I can order one?
@@clydemetcalf8415 Unfortunately, no. The scoop I have came with the house. It is actually a Tempwood branded scoop. The key difference is that the scoop portion is at a 90 degree angle to the handle which is what allows you to scoop up ashes then lift straight up through the opening at the top of the stove. Maybe check ebay?
@@clydemetcalf8415 Anyone who does sheet metal /duct work can devise one . I just reach in with my hand and the scoop, when fire is out , of course.
Anyone know what size the drive belt is on these. I have the 1005, determined the auger belt is 1/2x40 the drive belt is definately 1/4" but not 100% sure on proper length. Cant seem to find details on this belt online.
Thank you for the video. I hope you make some more.
Ok a lot of maple tree. Wish I could see you dig one up . 😢
My dad used to use his wood splitter with a piece of wood on the head to break beads and other things. It’s basically a hydraulic press if you can make attachments for the head. Nice work using what you have to get it done 👍🏻
*Great product **Fastly.Cool** so far*
What red color did you use? Trying to match my Giant Vac Mower. Thx!
Thanks, really appreciate your great instructions.Absolutely perfect
Thank you for the video! I always thought you had to take the screen out. Is this not the case?
I did not need to take my screen out. There was sufficient space between the window and the screen (at least with my window).
How do you get those cuts without getting your saw in the dirt?
how many decibel?
The wagon will tip over with anything in it.
I have never once had it tip over and I’ve loaded it very full many times.
What do I do with the rubber hose thing
Build your own screen box is last longer, and do you know how to shop or file blades? the only two things you need to know are blade and heat 🕝🌡✍.
Hi I have these growing in my front snd backyard! I thought I have to pull them out because they’re growing like weeds in undesired places, between other plants etc. Could I sell these? I really could use someone extra cash.
I know this is a couple of years old but for people who see this video in the future, I am relatively certain from memory (and I am pretty sure I see it in the video) the 125 has a hydro relief lever that should be engaged when the tractor is being moved (not under power) by either pushing or pulling. failing to pull the lever would make those flat tires seem extra flat :) Failing to do so can also damage the hydro unit. If I remember correctly all hydro Cubs up until at least the 1650 have them. My newest Cub is a red1982 1282 and it is does not have one but all of my earlier hydros had them. Hope you got her running. They are such great machines. I currently have a 1450 all original with 400 original hours. It has a rear lift, mower deck, rear tiller, plow, and snow blower. also 2 sets of wheel weights and the original cub yellow cover. And then I have the 1282 puller just because I REALLY like red tractors👍
