The reason why this breathing technique is called Gassho breathing/meditation is because the hands are held in prayer position (each hand, palms together) _/\_ just around the heart. My Japanese teacher has said we breath in through the hands as opposed to the crown.

Hi! Question: why does the stress induced micro vascular leakage decrease when their is noise and sham reiki? I understand it decreases less than in the real reiki situation

I have to correct one point - Beth Gray actually trained 3.5 master students by the time she had her stroke in 1992. The two you know of were her two masters in Australia. However, she also had another master student, Colleen Kennard, who lived in San Francisco. Beth had her stroke before officially acknowledging Colleen. I know, though, that Colleen had actually received the level 3 attunement (Beth gave her the rose shaped ring that denoted that which she once showed me) and when I took level 1 from Beth in 1991 that Colleen was doing the attunements right along with Beth. Beth had her stroke within a year and never officially acknowledged Colleen. One of the two Australian masters flew out to California and confirmed Colleen as having all the necessary abilities to train and Colleen then did so. I was at the level 1 that was before Beth's stroke, and I was there when Colleen did her first level 2 class. The half trained master was a nun in South Africa whose mastery was never confirmed to me. These things I know because I was there. I took Reiki at the age of 15 in 1991 from Beth and level 2 from Colleen a year later. Colleen Kennard died last year (2019) and only made two masters - a guy from Oakland CA named Peter and a young woman from India who was over here on an educational visa but has now returned to India. One thing you should know - Beth Gray was given by Takata a special level 2 attunement from which would allow the mental/emotional symbol to connect with the person's subconscious and allow them to "talk" to them during a session. In Beth's tradition the mental/emotional symbol was called the talking symbol. Takata did not pass this on to any other master she made.
